i went for a walk today and started to experience pain at 15 minutes into my walk. Pain was worse than before I had the injection. My doc indicates that my pain is not severe enough to have the knee replaced. Maybe it hasn't been long enough for the injection to work yet, however, I wouldn't expect the pain to be worse. Okay, I had an appointment on 19th. She is sending me to other hospital to get Epidural injection on my back. They'll call me soon with date/time for Epidural injection then afterwards give me date/time for PT. Anyone had experience with Epidural injection? What type of epideral are you having. I just had a second Epideral Steriod Injection. I have a ruptured L-5 and pain was shooting down my leg. The first one improved pain slightly and then the second has reduced pain significantly...... I can walk and sit with minimum pain. The procedure was a no brainer, performed in a surgical ctr, sterile environment and took about 8 minutes! Fortunately no side effects at all. A little pain in the injection site that was reduced when ice was applied.

Usually 1 injection is done every 2 weeks for a total of 3 to 4 injections. It is possible that the interventional pain specialist may not recommend a second injection after the first injection be done because of inadequate response. If this is the case, other procedures or treatments will be recommended which will be more beneficial for the particular condition. I started treatment for the low back pain with ESI (Epidural Steroid Injections). Mar 2012 I received a fourth injection. The next day my left knee started buckling while I was walking. By the second day, both my legs had given out and I couldn't walk unassisted. I could stll feel them but when I attempted to walk they both would crumple to the ground.

t sleep for three days, hot flushes face, slight headache and low grade fever. More pain in the injection site. Once the side effect subside, I am almost pain free from arthritis for three months if I dont over do it. Three days of reaction is worth, three months of Having my life back. Arthritis is hell when u are still young. Pray for a cure!! Cortisone does have negative side effects dispite what u are told. The key is deciding if it is worth it.

The MRI showed enough degeneration that he said I could try the epidural steroid injection. It has been 8 days since the injection and the left leg pain is just getting worse at night. I will be calling the clinic today since I had such a bad night last night. See what they say. Thanks again.

For my third injection he seemed to hit the same spot as in the first and second series. I did NOT get the calf pain and it did help my knee pain. This is just a guess on my part, but I think if the doctor does not inject it into the correct spot that it goes into the muscles and not the joint.

I took my first Humira shot in my leg on Monday and last night my leg began to hurt really bad. It is a pain that is hard to describe. I told my husband it was a "bone pain" it hurts down deep in the bone from my knee to my hip joint. Today it is hurting mostly in my hip joint.I take darvocet daily for pain and it really isn't helping and neither is naproxen. Is this normal after the first few days of the injection?

I am pleased to report that I had diminished pain the following day after the Epidural Neurolasty. I had a catheter inserted but removed after injection & another injection on right side. I presume this was not the RACZ procedure. Hopeful this will last.
