Avatar n tn Hello I had an accident where I fractured a part of the tibial plateau. In one knee. It's a simple fracture from what I gather, 4-5 ? inches long, but the x-ray wasn't precise enough for the Ortho. who requested an MRI with a 3-D reconstucted image. She said that if there's too much distance between the bones, too much loss of alignment, surgery will be necessary. Haven't sought a second opinion yet, but I'm wondering if there aren't alternatives to surgery?
Avatar n tn About ten years ago I developed this morning anxiety, and for the exception of a few months here and there because of knee replacements and other operations (I guess the pain took the place of anxiety) I have had it EVERY morning. My thyroid has fluctuated horribly for the past eight or so years and is still doing so. I have a physical in two weeks and am going to request a trial on Armour. Needless to say it gets me down horribly.
Avatar n tn I hope to have got digestive correct, as I assume pancreatitis has to do with that. Vet called today, said Ozzie's level are over 1'000 on lipase count and that makes it sure it is pancreatitis, che chronic version. Having had a look at internet, none of the symptoms agree with what he does. He does not, vomit, reject food, loose stool....
1279419 tn?1271197281 v had the nail from knee to ankle.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone, Being a pet owner and a pet lover I find this so sad. I could understand euthanizing the dogs if they were suffering and untreatable, but not because the man couldn't afford to feed them. He took on the responsibility of these1200 dogs and needs to be held accountable for all their deaths. RIP Little Doggies RIP.
Avatar n tn three operations-2 on r/knee with removal and 1-on left knee-pined togeather.
Avatar m tn Ibuprofen and acetopminophen will kill dogs and cats. Acetisalicylic aciid (regular plain aspirin) IS safe for dogs in the correct dose. Check with your vet to see what the appropriate dose would be for your dog based on his breed, age and general condition.

Avatar m tn However, My knees make a loud popping sound when I extend the leg (sitting on a chair and extending). The popping sound bothers me.When I put my hand over knee I can feel the "mechanics" of the knee. I suffer no discomfort other than when I am running. I am trying not to have the operation as I have heard some good and some about knee operations.
193137 tn?1367880063 I had a similar problem and I felt the same, thinking it was cruel to knee my dog in the chest. When I tried it out I got him in the head a couple of times. But eventually it worked. Still he likes to jump but now it is in front of me and not on me. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Patients with a loose total knee joint limp. The pain is usually felt in the whole knee area, predominantly in the front, along with increasing stiffness and effusion in the knee joint. With advancing time patient will not be able to put weight and diminished motion in the joint. Diagnosis can be made with the help of X-rays. Revision operation can be considered if there is unbearable pain, progression of osteolysis and loss of function.
647391 tn?1275016633 Lee has performed both hips and left knee replacements on myself. Another doctor performed my right knee replacement before I met Dr. Robert Lee. The right knee replacement was a disaster. The knee will not straighten or bend. All surgeries that Dr.Robert Lee completed for me was a success. At my 6 week checkup post surgery, I remember the smile on his face when I said "no problems".
Avatar n tn I too believe in teh holestic vets and I am now feeding my dogs Natural Balance because it has a few things in there that are supose to be good for dogs with hypothyroid. Avatar m tn im 44 6 ft 5 325, Ive had 7 operations on my left knee. ACL repaired and both cartlidges removed. I cannot stand more than a couple of hours because of the pain. I cannot straighten it nor bend it more than 45 degrees. Would a knee replacement be my best alternative to getting my lie back?
4966610 tn?1362054308 5 lbs. He has several serious medical issues including a luxating patella (trick knee) on his right rear leg. Because of his age, and his medical condition, I don't want to chance surgery to repair this as there is more of a risk of fatality from surgery and or anesthesia as he gets older. Unless there is some dire need for surgery, I am looking for a non surgical solution for this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions for this problem.
Avatar m tn The pain is centered in the center of his knee, as if you were to drill from the top of the knee and the side, the point they met is where the pain is. There was on injury to the knee prior to it starting to hurt. My question is has anyone hear of this before? Does anyone know what I can do to help him?

Avatar f tn I had a total knee replacement on my right knee on 10/22/09. I am 44/female. I have had 8 operations on this knee prior to the TKR. I have had bad knees and ankles since I was very young. Was still very active despite this. Played ALL the sports in high school college etc. So in general understand knee pain / how tough PT is and have developed a high tollerance for pain. Had the TKR on a Thursday...left hospital on Sun....
Avatar m tn I’ve had problems with my knees since 2014 am 25lbs. Weight got thrown on my knee. It didn’t break or anything. My has bothered me over the years but recently it’s worse. I movies into a house with stairs and when I walk or run up the i feel a ripping sensation in my knee. That’s the only way I can describe it. It doesn’t hurt on impact it hurt when I take off so to speak. Also when I have my knee bent for a long time it’s very hard to straighten it.
487443 tn?1208839512 I also found some surgeons treated autism patients by neurosurgery operations. I wonder whether neurosurgery operations are really effective for curing infantile autism and this kind of therapy is mature. Any risks exist in neurosurgery operations? Any successful cases around the world? After the redundant nerves are cut off, is it possible for them to revive after operations? Hope for your replies! Thanks a lot!
Avatar n tn Much depends on from whom you purchased your pup. If she came from a reputable breeder, they never would have released her with any kind of health issue. Unfortunately, chi's are so popular right now that people get blinded by dollar signs and set up back yard breeding operations that don't allow for the good physical or mental health of the dogs.
Avatar m tn I had this pain, i had issues at work couple times really i littery almost went to floor i knee down the other side act up a bit after words but i think that just a pull muscle on that side, i tried to see if i could see anything i see nothing but i feel something on the side, and i twitch when the doctor touch my side, this pain its just driving me insane i just want it to go away.
Avatar f tn You need to make an appointment with your vet to have him examined for hip dysplasia and/or a luxating patella. People are sometimes under the misapprehension that only large dogs like German Shepherds get hip dysplasia, while in reality it is possible for ANY breed to have it, no matter how big or small. Small and toy breeds, however, are also prone to something called a luxating patella, the patella being the knee. Its human equivalent would be called a "trick knee".
Avatar f tn One University guy that does these operations for normal dogs with traumas (like car accidents) totally discouraged my Vet from helping my dog because she has cancer. Can you believe that? Your dog lived 3+ years, and another gal I talked to had a dog with the same cancer in a front leg, (also a Doby) with a successful front leg prosthesis that lived a happy 2 years. But this man totally tried to discourage my Vet. Can you believe that?! (I'm paying the bills, not him!
Avatar f tn I'm so glad to hear you did the senior blood work. It really is a good thing to do. Dogs are considered seniors when they're 7 years old, so I do agree with your vet on the testing. Yes, your dog does need more things to chew on so have a look around at various chew toys like rawhides or nylabone/ dentabone products. That alone should help with the tartar and plaque buildup to where you don't need to use the toothbrush.
Avatar m tn Anyone able to comment on how long it is practical to hold off on knee replacements? Have severe arthritis of knee caps and all compounded with fall on knees. Pain varies every day. Fear the complications of knee replacements though told I will know when to have the needed surgery. In my golden years and carrying out exercise and pain management. Any comments appreciated.
