Avatar n tn Hello I had an accident where I fractured a part of the tibial plateau. In one knee. It's a simple fracture from what I gather, 4-5 ? inches long, but the x-ray wasn't precise enough for the Ortho. who requested an MRI with a 3-D reconstucted image. She said that if there's too much distance between the bones, too much loss of alignment, surgery will be necessary. Haven't sought a second opinion yet, but I'm wondering if there aren't alternatives to surgery?

Avatar f tn Patients with a loose total knee joint limp. The pain is usually felt in the whole knee area, predominantly in the front, along with increasing stiffness and effusion in the knee joint. With advancing time patient will not be able to put weight and diminished motion in the joint. Diagnosis can be made with the help of X-rays. Avatar m tn Almost a year and a half ago my boyfriend started to experience chronic knee pain. In February of last year he had a knee surgery to remove a hematoma and clotted blood and dead tissue. Since that surgery his knee has only gotten worse. He has been to every specialist you can think of and has been on extremely high amounts of pain medication with no relief.
Avatar f tn My 78 yr old mother has been experiencing continous painful sores/blisters in her mouth with pain in jaw up to temple area. She has been to two dentists, two primary care physicians, alerists, ENT, urgent care & emergency room twice, no one has been able to diagnose the problem & have put her on anitibiotics approx. 10 times now. The antibiotics do begin to help but within in 2-3 days after stopping the antibiotics the problem is back.
Avatar f tn I had the Nissen Fundoplication surgery about eighteen months ago, with great results. From the studying I did prior to the surgery, it sounds like the wrap and stitching procedure was too tightly done, and this might result in expulsion of food in the esophagus. I'd strongly suggest you do as much as possible to make sure the repeat surgery is performed by someone with a lot of experience.
487443 tn?1208839512 I wonder whether neurosurgery operations are really effective for curing infantile autism and this kind of therapy is mature. Any risks exist in neurosurgery operations? Any successful cases around the world? After the redundant nerves are cut off, is it possible for them to revive after operations? Hope for your replies! Thanks a lot!
163305 tn?1333668571 The film fails to acknowledge that the flagship fast reactor development efforts in the United States, France, Germany, Japan and Italy all failed, and that fast reactors were abandoned by both the U.S. and Soviet navies, hardly a strong selling point for resurrecting the Integral Fast Reactor program. Director/producer Robert Stone told the Stanford audience that he first sought financial backing from Kirsch about three years ago, which also explains one of the film's dilemmas.
Avatar m tn I movies into a house with stairs and when I walk or run up the i feel a ripping sensation in my knee. That’s the only way I can describe it. It doesn’t hurt on impact it hurt when I take off so to speak. Also when I have my knee bent for a long time it’s very hard to straighten it. Sometimes when I walk the wrong way I drop to the ground suddenly because the pain is so bad. The only thing is is that it is not persistent. It’s not a constant pain.
Avatar m tn However prior to the operation I used to have blood in my sperm for a number of years and the first two times I ejaculated after the operations it was bloody as before Then I noticed there was no blood in my sperm and this continued for about 9 months Wonderful I thought and what a great success. However after a short lapse of any sexual activity I have now noticed that the blood has appeared again.
Avatar n tn About ten years ago I developed this morning anxiety, and for the exception of a few months here and there because of knee replacements and other operations (I guess the pain took the place of anxiety) I have had it EVERY morning. My thyroid has fluctuated horribly for the past eight or so years and is still doing so. I have a physical in two weeks and am going to request a trial on Armour. Needless to say it gets me down horribly.
1279419 tn?1271197281 They put a rod in above my knee to my ankle with several pins in the knee and ankle. I since have been back in the hospital 3 times due to excessive pain and swelling. My foot is very numb in certain places to where I cant feel it to the touch. I had shooting pain going from above my ankle to the bottom of my foot They now have me on Gabapentin 300mg. three times a day. You might want to ask the doctor if that will help? I'm not a doc but it sure did help withe the shooting in my foot.

1301089 tn?1290666571 They range from two zones in the medieval town of Carcassone to twelve in the heavily Muslim town of Marseilles, with hardly a town in France lacking in its ZUS. The ZUS came into existence in late 1996 and according to a 2004 estimate, nearly 5 million people live in them. Comment: A more precise name for these zones would be Dar al-Islam, the place where Muslims rule.
Avatar m tn I have had knee, hip and back x-rays, MRI scans on my back and hip, two knee operations for mild CMP and a lateral release. I have also seen a chiropracter and had a bio-mechanical assessment (othotics req'd). Nothing was found, joint spacing etc fine except for some fraying of the cartilage on the posterior lateral aspect of my patella. The lateral release was to see if it could alieviate the pain and give the IT band some laxity.
