Thanks for response plans were to remove rod then do a scope on knee well sense he decided to cut me across center of my knee there for the scope would not of been nessarymy because he had my knee open . But i found out from insu company there are being billed for a scope to . the lady asked me if your knee was open why would a scope be nessary I said i do not no maybe somebody should ask him because i dont no why a lot of things were done .

i have recently had a knee operation to fix the cartilage. on investigating they found that my femor and knee cap was in a bad way and worn and in time i will need a knee cap replacement, however thankfully not at the present time. Iam a fit person who teaches amrtial arts. My problem is that it has been weeks since my operation but the knee is still badly swollen and sore and i am still struggling to straighten it and bend it behonf 40 degrees..

I have a question. I had a knee scope (to clean out scarr tissue underneath knee cap) on 3-26-2012 I only took a week off of work & started PT 9 days after surgery. I am walking better & the bending is getting easier. My question is (my PT guy could not answer) why do I still have fluid on the top of my knee (left side) if the holes are at the bottom sides of the knee cap.

I recently had an MRI for a knee injury. The diagnosis is "an unstable tear involving the posterior horn and body with vertical and horizontal components extending to the articular surface. The tear extends into the posterior horn root attachment". WIll this injury require surgery?

I had a scope right before Christmas for a torn mcl and suck out blood clots that formed under my knee cap. And i can assure you the scope is Nothing compared to the replacement. Nothing compared to the replacement. I promise. I was so upset having to have that scope. I was in orbit. But here i am three weeks later and feel 100% better. Ok not 100% but at least 80%. I almost cried when i read your bad day post. Im so sorry about this. But i had to reach out to you asap.

Hello, I have had 3 arthroscopies on my left knee to repair my lateral horn meniscus in September 2009, January 2014 and March 2015. Each time after the operation and recovery my knee begins to feel good and strong again. After 1 and a half year since my last operation my knee has felt great, however 5 days ago I squatted down (asian squat toilet), and instantly knew I had torn the cartilage again. Since this moment my left knee has a constant ache/throb.

I was told by my orthopedic Surgeon that I may have a medial meniscus tear but need an MRI to confirm. I was told that the MRI would cost me around $3500. Is there another way of doing this? Why couldn't he just scope me, find the problem and repair it? Other than that, I have to have a costly MRI and surgery which he would scope me anyways. Also, is there something other than cortizone that can be injected into the knee for some quick relief? I had a injection twice, and it did nothing.

Alright where to start...i've had ongoing knee problems for years..had a blood clot, 2 athros & one big surgery where the surgeon broke my shin bone and pushed my knee cap up..anyways last month i started getting really bad knee pains, cracks, stiffness etc...I waited a week and it did not get better so I went to E.R...they referred me to an ortho where I moved (my other one is located where my family lives) he wants to get an MRI but I have to get the screws out which is fine and dandy.

I needed mis understand, he looked at my exrays and stated, the left knee is worst than the right, with arthritis and that at my age 74, I was really to old to scope. But I will give you a cortisone shot and you can come back in 3 months and we will look at it again. It had been 2011 since I had my last cortisone shot. I think I can live with getting a shot once every few years instead of a replacement...

A plica is a thin wall of fibrous tissue that are extensions of the synovial capsule of the knee. During fetal development, the knee is divided into three (3) separate compartments. As the fetus develops these compartments develop into one large protective cavity (synovial membrane). The majority of people have remnants of these three cavities referred to as a plica. Most often the plica is on the medial (inside) of the knee at the level of the medial femoral condyle.

When this occurred I was told that because I was not in my teens or a professional athlete a repair was not advised. I had a scope done and they cleaned up with torn edges of the ACL. It reduced my pain level. I then had weeks of PT to build supporting structures. It took about two years before the knee would not give out on me and about 12 months before the pain was basically gone. It is my understanding that today they do reconstructive surgeries on most ppl with torn ACLs.

Hi there I had one done in July 2009 and looks like I may have to undergo another one on the same knee in a couple of months - what is the verdict on having 2 scopes done on the same knee within 2 years.

I am having a diagnostic scope of my knee to determine if I am a candidate for a partial knee replacement or need a complete knee replacement. The orthopedic surgeon mentioned that the most likely anesthesia would be an epidural rather than a general anesthesia. There is little information on epidurals online. Is it given directly into the spine, like the spinal they sometimes give during labor?

After a MRI they have found that I have only MCL in my left knee in tact and need to have a operation to fix this. I have found many people with ACL tears on you tube but can't find info on the problems I have in my knee. i have 7 knee operation on my left knee, acl repaired and both cartlidges removed , cannot stand more than a couple of hours at a time. cant straighten it and cannot bend it more than 45 degrees is a knee replacement in my near future.

Surgical repair for torn meniscus of L' Knee. 3 months post-op it buckled, caused tear during fall to R' Knee and meniscus was surgically repaired but has also failed, although the surgeon refuses to order an MRI to "prove" this latest injury. Pain is an issue as I am allergic to all pain meds ordered to date and take nothing for the pain levels of 9-10. Before injury both knees were healthy, minimal arthritic changes on MRI's in spite of age 58 and obesity.

I have had extreme knee pain (to the point where I can now barely walk as it is), and I don't know what the problem is. 25 years ago i had a right retinacular release of the right knee. The knee is causing pain on movement; I use movelat gel; now the pain is severe at times. The knee clicks when walking.

I have back problems and recently had a knee scope done on my right knee. The inserts that I use is call Profoot. They relieved pressure from both my back and knees. I feel the difference when I wear other shoes or no shoes. I hope this helps.

I had a knee scope 2 months ago. The doctor repaired the menicus on the outside and inside of my knee. He also scraped the arthritis off the knee cap. I have been going to rehab, and last week the doctore gave me a cortisone shot in my knee. But, what I am so frustrated with is I have a sharp, piercing pain under my knee cap, and a bit to the inside of the knee cap. This pain stops me in my tracks. The doctor is not helpful. Does anyone know what this is?
