Normally, the scar will be approximately six to eight inches long. It will be straight down the center of your knee unless you have previous scars, in which case they may use the prior scar. There will be some numbness around the scar. This will not cause any problems.
It is important to watch for any pain around the scar. Pain occurs either spontaneously or when the patient touches the scar. In most cases this could be due to damage to the nerves in the knee joint.

i have recently had a knee operation to fix the cartilage. on investigating they found that my femor and knee cap was in a bad way and worn and in time i will need a knee cap replacement, however thankfully not at the present time. Iam a fit person who teaches amrtial arts. My problem is that it has been weeks since my operation but the knee is still badly swollen and sore and i am still struggling to straighten it and bend it behonf 40 degrees..

I have had 3 arthroscopies on my left knee to repair my lateral horn meniscus in September 2009, January 2014 and March 2015. Each time after the operation and recovery my knee begins to feel good and strong again.
After 1 and a half year since my last operation my knee has felt great, however 5 days ago I squatted down (asian squat toilet), and instantly knew I had torn the cartilage again.
Since this moment my left knee has a constant ache/throb.
you should use Mederma for scars, over time it will help lighten the color of the scar making it less noticeable , but it may always be raised.
It is not cancerous, it may or may not hide a cancer and I was not keen to have the operation. I resisted and asked to be followed up with monthly mammograms instead. They could not do this they said as no process. I argued for different treatment options. None were forthcoming.

m 16 and I used to self harm so I know a lot about how my body scars. Recently I scar so easily like I got a bug bite and it scared, I skinned my knee falling down and it scared. I didn't pick at them or anything and yet they scared. I got scraped by a rose bush and not only did it scar but the scars are still purple and this happened 4 months ago! I'm wondering if it could be something with my blood becuase I bleed a lot, not only with cuts and scrapes but on my period as well.

I have a genus valgus knee and I am 37 years old. I would like to fix my knees before they get worst and the esthetic is the main problem for me right now. But, I want to know if it can be done with an arthroscopy surgery. because I hate scars so much.
Surgical repair for torn meniscus of L' Knee. 3 months post-op it buckled, caused tear during fall to R' Knee and meniscus was surgically repaired but has also failed, although the surgeon refuses to order an MRI to "prove" this latest injury. Pain is an issue as I am allergic to all pain meds ordered to date and take nothing for the pain levels of 9-10. Before injury both knees were healthy, minimal arthritic changes on MRI's in spite of age 58 and obesity.

I know I did have a transfusion, but in this situation I need to prove it. Can you help?

It was then removed surgically He has not yet been told whether he is to have further chemo sessions. The consultants say they will know in about 2 weeks from operation date. Is this a 'bad sign'; would they not know the extent of the cancer from initial tests that were done, or at least from the time of the operation itself? We are very concerned for him and would be grate for your opinion.
My mother had full knee replacement surgery around october. The operation seems to have been a success. But a few weeks after the operation she developed diahrrea. It has now lasted more than 2 months. She has lost 14 pounds. All tests come back negative. SHe has taken several medicines aND probiotics. Her diahrrea is watery. Not solid at all. She goes 4 times a day sometimes more. She has gone 10 times in half a day at some point . Has not taken antibiotics since the operation.
By going for TKR one year back she looks fine for 6 months, then severe pain on the operated left knee, checked and found PUS. Gone through a Revision TKR, done through 2 stages removing PUS and filled with cements and then after 2 months operated again with the new implant.
Again PUS coming out from the operated knee, infection there.
Need ur advice and help on this.
