Knee joint line tenderness

Common Questions and Answers about Knee joint line tenderness

knee

I can pin-point exactly where the pain is (it moves around the knee and elbow joint) just by touching it. I can also feel a constant throbbing pain without even touching my knees or elbows. I have not been responsive to icing it, physical therapy, several anti-inflammatory medications, a cortisone shot, prescription pain medication, and fibromyalgia medication (Lyrica). I have never experienced any sort of swelling nor do I feel stiff in my joints.
Osteoarthritis, Ligament damage, Meniscus damage or Patello-femoral disorder. Your symptom of pain at the joint line is the result of a collateral ligament or meniscus problem (or both) until proven otherwise. Your symptom of sudden pain, then hearing a pop and swelling suggests that you have ligament injury. If the patient has a ligament injury, the patient will report a deceleration injury or twisting the knee that led to immediate symptoms of swelling and pain.
Right now both my upper outside arms have tender spots, as well as above both knees. Some nights are difficult to sleep, because the pressure of lying on the tender spot hurts alot. I don't think it's fibromlysia because from what I've ready there are particular tender points common in most people. Hopefully someone has an answer for us.
Stop taking Levaquin and call your doctor at once if you have sudden pain, swelling, tenderness, stiffness, or movement problems in any of your joints. Rest the joint until you receive medical care or instructions." It has been reported to cause rupture of ligaments. I don't know it the levaquin has caused your pain or not but I would certainly discuss this with your PCP. If he agrees that this is from the ATB, I would ask his advice.
I was diagnosed with post streptoccoccal reactive arthritis following sudden onset of joint pain in january this year.Blood tests confirmed a positive ASOT with my history of a persistent sore throat last winter (The pain has been in my fingers, wrists, elbows, knees, feet and ankles and has been excruciating at times).having taken a course of antbiotics, anti inflammatories and painkillers ever since, I have suddenly developed a painful swelling of the veins in both wrists and hands.
In addition I have pain in the epiditimis (right side only) and joint pain (right side only) mostly in the hip and knee but also the hand back and ankle and this has been getting worse progressively. Most recent tests have also shown slightly raised ESR levels, CRP and white blood cell count normal.
In the last two months, I began having pain on the inside of my knee that is tender to the touch. Even when I palpate the bone it hurts. My doctor sent me for an X-ray and it reveal mild osteoarthritis.

Knee joint aspiration and injection are performed to aid in diagnosis and treatment of knee joint diseases. Do you have swelling in and around knee joint? Corticosteroids therapy changes the vascular inflammatory response to injury, stalls destructive enzymes, and inhibits/restricts the action of inflammatory cells. How many steroid injections are you taking per year? I think what you are experiencing is the post-injection flare.
Pain in the front portion of the knee can be caused by bursitis (inflammation of the lining of the joint, possible due to injury while playing), arthritis, or injury to the patella cartilage (front portion of the knee). Pain on either sides of the knee is usually related to meniscal tears, injuries to the collateral ligaments, and even to arthritis. You will need X-rays and MRIs of the knee to find the exact. Treatment will follow correct diagnosis.
After three years I am just now developing the swollen joints and muscles and the bi-lateral joint pain in wrists, hands, elbows, ankles and knees. I had the hip pain off and on for a while. I have a diagnosis of Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease right now which, from what I understand, is a kind of catch-all diagnosis until you get enough symptoms to definitively diagnose with a specific disease. If they don't want to run the tests you need, get another doctor.
There are 3 pairs of ligaments in your knee joint. You have a pair or menisci, medial collateral and lateral collateral ligaments and a pair of cruciates. Depending on the grade of injury to the ligament you can start conservative therapy and if it fails you can consider surgery. Follow up with an orthopedician. Take care!
Grade 1 symptoms: * Mild tenderness on the inside of the knee over the ligament. * Usually no swelling. * When the knee is bent to 30 degrees and force applied to the outside of the knee (stressing the medial ligament) pain is felt but there is no joint laxity (looseness). Grade 2 symptoms: * Significant tenderness on the inside of the knee on the medial ligament. * Some swelling seen over the ligament.
and I am desperately trying to figure out why I continue to break out in hives and have joint pain in my elbows, feet, hands and legs. I too started breaking out in hives after taking the antibotic Solodyn for acne. After a trip to the ER, it was assumed that I had an alergic reaction to the medicine. I stopped taking the medicine after only 3 weeks and needless to say, I am still breaking out in hives and have joint pain. I have been tested for allergies and that was negative.
It started when I would criss cross my legs and my knees would hurt so bad that I couldn't uncross my legs. But now its whenever I bend my knees. Hopefully its not just me. Btw I'm 7 weeks and 3 days with an edd of november 22nd 2012.
I have never been one to pop pills and prefer natural remedies as opposed to drugging myself but I have been on treatment for almost 60 days and the changes are AMAZING. Tonight is not the best because I am suffering joint pain....I mostly have it in my knees and calves and ankles, and I relate the pain to growing pains, when you are a kid and you are growing you just have that sore, achey pain that is so deep you cant use heat or anything to get it to diminish.
Howdy, I've been on a journey the last year to figure out what is wrong with me. What began as severe joint pain in my hands and wrists eventually moved to my hips and knees. I was convinced I had RA, but after seeing three different rheumatologists, I am still trying to find out what is wrong with me. I've had MRI's, bone scans, x-rays, and bloodwork to check for RA, gout, lupus, and other inflammatory diseases. Everything always comes back normal in my tests.
Then had series of three steriod cocktail shots into the knee joint. Each time the found blood in the joint. Had surgery again on Dec 21 2009to remove the synovial capsule as it was obvious it was being pinched in the joint and bleeding internally. When they did the surgery they found that the synovial capsule was totally fibrotic. I had tons of scar tissue and adhesions. They had to remove a lot of tissue. Seven days after surgery had green discharge coming from incision.

I am an 18 year old female who has been suffering from a number of symptoms that I would like to sort out. They include fatigue, weakness, migraine headaches, mysterious bruising, bags under the eyes and joint pain coupled with "crunchy" sounding joints. I maintain a very healthy diet and sleep the recommended eight hours, but still tend to get sick often. I am on a low-dose birth control pill.
I have constant abdominal pain from above my belly button to the bottom of my ribs and from my left side to the right and down my right side to my waist line. But I am not tender to the touch. Also I have felt weak and tired and lacking energy since the end of May. On June 29th I started with a cough and a stuffy nose just figured it was allergies but my meds were not helping. I went and saw Dr.Miller and he put me on Ceftin & Tessalon Pearls.
I do know that it has been swollen for a long time, it is very obvious when looking at it and it is tender when touched. Also the other knee is beginning to get sharp stabbing pains towards the middle front of the knee. The one that is injured is the inside front of the knee. Can anyone tell me about this type of injury and have you had this type of injury? What were your symptoms and what did the DR. do? I was told I needed a MRi.
For the past 3 months now I have been having strange symptoms like nausea, dizziness (extreme at times), headache behind the eye and sensitivity to light, joint/muscle aches and stiffness mostly in hands and feet but occassionally like a full body flu-type attack, weakness in wrists, cold feet and hands that feel like they are plunged in ice water whenever I take a hot bath/shower, constant feeling of cold so that I just can't get warm, occasional hot flashes and chills, exhaustion and sleepine
Sent home with a prescription of antibiotics. Next day or so noticed red wide line about 2 inches wide travelling down from operated knee to my ankle. It was very hot. I finally showed the nurse assigned to come in to my place and she was very concerned and when the Physio gal came tohave me do exercises she looked at it and was agast at what she saw. She phoned my family Doctor who told her to have me go to the city about 40 miles away where the surgery was performed.

I rolled my left ankle, hit my right knee and slapped my left hand down onto the concrete. The ankle and knee feel tender but okay. The left hand is causing worry. It's very tender below the thumb joint, also it looks as though I've broken vessels, because I have 2 dark lines running up my palm. It hurts when I'm resting, hurts more when touched or flexing the wrist. Maybe some numbness. Any advice?
suh-no-vee-ul) membrane (the lining of the joints, such as the knees or knuckles). When the synovium becomes inflamed, fluid is produced, and the joints can become stiff, swollen, painful, and warm to the touch. Over time, inflammation in a joint can cause damage to cartilage and bone. About 285,000 kids and teens in the United States have some form of arthritis. Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA) is the most common kind of arthritis among kids and teens.

Completely symmetrical and no prior injuries. -stiff, sore fingers. Left hand two fingers next to the thumb at the middle joint and right hand where my pinky meets my hand. I can't straighten them out. They get puffy in those joints. I can't make a fist.
On physical examination the doctor will look for specific findings such as joint line tenderness, swelling, and clicking or popping. As far as the ACL, it sounds as if this is a mild sprain, and not a complete tear. Again, the clinical finding are very important. The history issues remain the same. On examination, the most important findings are those of instability. Your doctors will perform various maneuvers to determine the "functional" status of your ligament.
