358594 tn?1211255129 I still cannot fully extend my leg because it hurts my knee (my knee feels unstable when I try, it feels really shaky), also, I still have some swelling, worse on some days, better on others. The same with the pain. Is it still supposed to be like this? I've tried doing the leg extensions that others who have had the same injury were told to do, but it feels like my knee just wont allow the extension. What am I doing wrong? Is it possible I'll need a reconstruction of the injured knee?
Avatar f tn Hi there, I was riding a horse and my foot got caught on a panel and the horse kept going. This happened 3 days ago. It's hard to walk. I have swelling and pain on the inner side of my knee. I can bend my knee approx 45°. When I'm sitting or laying down I can straighten my leg but when I'm standing I can't seem to straighten it. My knee cap feels awkward when I try to. When I stand up from sitting i get an excruciating pain and blood rush feeling through my knee.
Avatar f tn And now I can just be standing there and my knee feels like it is really loose and feels like I hyperextended in, the knee pushes back. How ling should I wait to go to the doctor or should I continue to try and heal it myself.
Avatar f tn My right knee feels itchy to the bone sometimes and there is no relief. And recently my heart feels as though it is beating really hard. I am only 28 yo. I have considered Celiacs due to the hand and trouble I have with bowel. I am not sure what else to think. I am just worried about my feet because this is so unusual. Thank you for any help! I have been to a dr about the hand and knee, they just hand me a script to a psychologist and have never looked at my knee or MRI'd it, etc.
Avatar m tn My knee was sore this morning and has gotten worse throughout the day. Now it is 5:30 and it is swollen twice it's original size. It is very painful and feels hot. I did not do anything to hurt it. Any ideas about what could be wrong? Should I ice it or heat it?
Avatar m tn Hi there. You need to consult the orthopaedician again since tissue injury would have subsided with this much of time and supportive care. It appears to be a ligament or menisceal tear and needs to be checked up properly clinically and with an MRI. Anterior cruciate ligament tears and medial menisceal injuries would require surgical management, arthroscopy and ACL reconstruction and menisectomy respectively. Hope this helps. Take care.
Avatar f tn If it is a chronic pain you have to rule out conditions like muscle or tendon injury to your quadriceps or injury to any of the ligaments in the knee. It can be conditions like bursitis or also nerve involvement. I would suggest you to follow up with an orthopedician for an examination. Take care!
1393879 tn?1288725449 Another reason is rheumatoid arthritis but this has been ruled out in your case. Tendonitis or bursitis of the joint too produces similar symptoms. In the knee joint an injury to menisci can be the culprit. It can also be a muscle injury locking the knee. Generally conservative treatment should help. Anti-inflammatory drugs, alternate hot and cold fomentation should help. Maybe you should get a MRI of the knee joint. Please consult an orthopedic specialist. Take care!
Avatar m tn I was playing volleyball and jumped and landed on my knee, the first few days my knee hurt too bad to walk on. It has been about a month now and I can walk with no problem but if I turn or back up or go down or up hills it still hurts sometimes. It also feels like something is moving when I turn sometime .Could this be serious? Should I see a doctor?
Avatar n tn If I lie down and try to bend the knee, drawing it up to my body it feels very strange, as if there is cotton all around the inside of the knee. It feels swollen, too. Can ANYONE tell me what's going on? The 2nd physician wants to do arthroscopic, BUT I can't take the time off work, and I have a bad history of not waking up from anesthesia...so I would use surgery as a LAST resort.....
245285 tn?1220498346 I avoided squats and lunges for a week, but did some deadlifts yesterday and on the last set my knee felt weird so I stopped. And now it feels and looks like there is a hot water balloon inflating in my knee cap. It burns. I am very interested in protecting my joints and do not want joint issues as I age.
Avatar m tn If I kneel on my left knee I get a sharp pain like my knee is kneeling on a pin that is digging into my knee. It is a sharp enough pain for me to get right back up off it and switch to my other knee. I work in a convenience store and have to kneel down to get into certain places so I feel this pain every time I kneel on my left knee. The pain is the bottom of my knee cap on the left side of my left knee.
Avatar m tn I have a hot feeling on my right knee, but it is not hot to touch it feels like I have a heater on it half the time. It comes and go often but only lasting for 1 minute or less. It doesn't hurt but is very annoying. Anybody else had or have this problem.

Avatar f tn ve been limping ever since the knee looks deformed there was a massive purple bruise which has now gone down. There is still swelling on the knee cap and the leg feels numb yet painful and tingly to the toes. It's my right leg so it's my main leg and I don't know what to do. I can move my leg but its really painful. if i touch the knee is tender and if i move my fingers on it the knee feels like it's jarring. Nothing seems like a comfortable position.
Avatar n tn My knees bruised slightly but the back my legs behind my knee is causing me to have pain; it feels like the vein is sore and the left is slightly swollen. I iced it before my last TRX class and it felt so much better but I wonder if I should continue with my exercise? Is there something that I can do to make it better?
546214 tn?1214454140 Hi, Water on the knee is a generic term used to describe knee swelling which occurs when excess fluid accumulates in or around the knee joint. There are many common causes for the swelling, including arthritis, injury to the ligaments or meniscus, or when fluid collects in the bursa. This condition is known as prepatellar bursitis. The type of fluid that accumulates around the knee depends on the underlying disease, condition or type of traumatic injury that caused the excess fluid.
Avatar f tn Now he is shivering, hot/cold, running a fever and the leg is hot to the touch and he complains the back of the knee is increasing in pain even with ibprofen. ER tonigt or wit for morning and call orthopedist?
Avatar f tn She has pain in her left knee and has never experienced an injury before except a sprained ankle (her right). She has been complaining of swelling/hot ache in her knee after dance, aches around them and the other night she showed me her knee after her shower and it was shadowed/black. She told me it wasn't painful but I think that was a lie as she was wincing as I touched it.
Avatar n tn a few weeks ago, I had suffered a lower back injury at Bikram (Hot) Yoga. Yoga which is performed in a room at 105 farenheit for 90 minutes. Last night, I was unable to lye on my back and witnessed excruciating pain in left thigh above the knee. When I raise my leg from lying down, the pain is unbearable. I practice this yoga 3 times a week for the past 14 years. I stayed away from the practice for 10 days and the pain appeared to have disappeared. Well not entirely.
5245618 tn?1365687749 Pain in the front portion of the knee can be caused by bursitis (inflammation of the lining of the joint, possible due to injury while playing), arthritis, or injury to the patella cartilage (front portion of the knee). Pain on either sides of the knee is usually related to meniscal tears, injuries to the collateral ligaments, and even to arthritis. Pain in the back of the knee can be caused by arthritis or Bakers cysts (cystic accumulation of synovial fluid, also causes a swelling).
Avatar n tn 7 yrs ago i had an accident which resulted in a muscle crush injury to the back of the knee. I still have many problems with it after all these years. In cold, damp weather it aches and becomes swollen, retains water so becomes puffy and i find myself tripping over more as my leg feels wooden at times. Is there anything that can be done to ease this and why am i still having these problems after 7years.
518798 tn?1295212279 Of course, this could be anything, from a rapid onset of arthritic pain, to bursitis, to infection. However there are a few clues. First, night pain that awakens you from sleep; second the knee hurts when you bend it, and gets stiff if you sit with it bent; finally, buckling when you stand.
