Common Questions and Answers about Knee exercises tendonitis

knee

Avatar f tn During the episode of pain if you use crutches then it is important not to do any weight bearing on the affected knee. You can apply ice packs when your knee is painful, after physical activity as this reduces your pain and inflammation. Resting from aggravating activities such as running and jogging allows time for recovery and healing. You should also practice stretching activities. You should consider physiotherapy to strengthen your quadriceps and hamstrings.
Avatar m tn Hi there! Well, without an evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of the knee pain. Possibilities that may need to be considered include patellar dislocation, chondromalacia patellae, infections/ inflammations, arthritis, bursitis, tendonitis, cyst formation, iliotibial band syndrome, osgood schlatter disease, bone growths/ tumours, nerve impingement/ compression, fractures, injuries to the internal knee ligaments/ menisci etc; just to name a few.
Avatar f tn After menisectomy I would suggest you to go for physical exercises and exercises to strengthen your quadrceps femoris muscle before thinking about surgical procedures. Rehabilitation after arthroscopic meniscectomy carries little or no risk. Rehabilitation is continued until the knee has regained full range of motion and strength .
Avatar m tn Look for a good manual therapist. They typically treat not just the knee but also look at how your calf and hip are affecting your knee.
Avatar f tn The bone scan showed activity and inflammation in my knee and ankle. The PA I went to told me that it is tendonitis in my knee with referred pain. I just want to be sure. I only feel pain in my knee when I'm actually running. After I'm done running, the pain is localized in my tibia. Has anyone experienced something similar? It is actually patellar tendonitis? It just seems weird to me that a injury in my knee doesn't really hurt my knee that much but severly hurts my shins...
Avatar f tn Just below the knee of my left leg I get severe pain that causes me to almost have it go out from under me. It comes and goes, but lately its more often. It does not involve the joint itself, it is the very top of thelower leg on the front. It is not swollen, noris it red. I have fallen on the ice a couple years ago striking that leg on the edge of a porch step in that area. I am 150 pounds over weight which I am sure aggrivates it.
Avatar f tn Aw, I'm so sorry you're feeling this way. I, too, have chronic pain and have had it for over 20 years. I won't lie to you and say it'll get any better, unless you're on some awesome pain meds, of course, or you get that miracle blessing of it totally disappearing!
Avatar n tn At first the pain was only when I walked up and down stairs and had to put all my weight on one knee but now I can hardly extend my knee without getting sharp pains on the inside of the knee. Also, not sure if this is relevant, but there is a painless bruise on the middle of my knee right below my knee cap and I have no idea where it came from. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn Most of the time when I am walking around it feels like normal, however there are times that I feel excruiating pain in and around the knee. I have noticed most times it occurs is when i am bending deep with my knee I.e. getting into my car, going down stairs fast, bending down to pick something off the ground. However it does not always happen when I am doing these activities. When the pain starts the only way I have seen to relief the pain is to straighten out my leg.

Avatar n tn I have had tendonitis in my knee for slightly more than a month during the summer and had gone for physical therapy in August & part of September. My physical therapists got the swelling in my knee down enough to be not seen or felt with sonagrams and stretching excersizes. Now I'm "recovering" but it does't feel like it. I feel pain radiating down the side of my right leg when I'm sitting and sometimes when I'm walking.
Avatar m tn I am a cheerleader and I had a competition yesterday and I was tumbling and my knee gave out on me and then a couple hours later my knee was getting sharp pains and I looked down and my whole knee was purple and blue. I was just wondering if this is normal with tendonitis and the patella femoral syndrome?
Avatar f tn If there is considerable improvement in pain, then you can try exercises of knee and ankle joints to strengthen the muscles and ligaments of these joints. Given the fact that you have a two year history, please get this investigated.Hope this helps. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar f tn I have had knee pain in both my knees since I was 13 years old. It started off as cartilage wearing out. In 2015 I revisited the doctor after 7 years with knee pain once again. My PCP said I had a Patella Tracking Disorder. Fast forward to 2016 and I had an MRI done that revealed a Level One ACL injury along with cartilage damage as well as Tendonitis and Bursitis.
Avatar n tn When it gets inflamed due to overuse or injury it is called as tendonitis. There are different types of tendonitis like wrist tendonitis, knee tendonitis etc. According to the types of tendonitis, the treatment varies. But in general conservative measures including resting the area (avoid using during pain episodes) and ice application will help control inflammation and reduce swelling.
1207048 tn?1282174304 Both areas where I have spasticity, the back of my neck on the right side (extending to the upper arm), and the back of my right knee, were pretty bad by this past weekend. I could still move my neck without too much discomfort, but my entire upper arm was weird feeling. Tight, and feeling like I had done 100 reps with heavy weights. It was from the shoulder to the elbow, not just up near the shoulder like normal. The muscle was also "dead" feeling.
Avatar f tn I'm 17, and I've had knee pain in my right knee as long as I can remember. it is usually happens after standing/walking for long periods of time. Ive been to my doctor and to an orthopedic doctor, and they don't know what it is. I've gone through many xrays, and the only thing they found was a small, thin line going across my kneecap, but they said that it was nothing to worry about.
Avatar m tn Pain in the ankle could be due to sprains and achilles tendonitis. In your case as the pain is proceeding towards the arch of the foot, I feel it is involving plantar fascia also, causing plantar fascitis. Both these conditions occur in people who practise rigourous exercises, athletes, over pronation etc.Patients with Achilles tendonitis usually experience the most significant pain after periods of inactivity.
604489 tn?1220023514 I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis and illiotibial band tendonitis. Do you exercise or run? If so, it could be ITB tendonitis.
Avatar f tn When I was a freshman in highschool I had seen a Doctor about my knee problem, and was tolded that my knee caps were making new knee jionts by themselves. They had done surgery on my right knee. I was wondering what the medical name was for this type of knee problem.
Avatar n tn I fell hard on my kneecaps directly on tile and MRI showed patella Tendonitis and Chondromalacia. Does anyone know any treatments except NASIDS , COLD PACK AND REST?
Avatar f tn I have had tendonitis in my feet, my knee, my elbow and now my wrist. What is spasticity? I take baclofen. What else can I do?
Avatar n tn Sometimes you have surgery and bursitis or tendonitis sets in , most of the time a MRI and a EMG can tell you if you have nerve damage and muscle weakness.
