when i bend my knee it pops and grinds. My leg from the knee down goes numb from time to time. You may even have a pinched nerve. but i am not a doctor so the best thing to do would be go to a orthopedic.

(Question I promise is at the bottom, but there's some back story in here...) On 12/14/16, I was at work, and felt a pop in my right knee, and I buckled. This wasn't "abnormal" for me as this has happened before. I thought nothing of it and continued working my second job for the remaining several hours as a cashier walking, bending, etc.

It also showed some arthritis under the knee cap. The surgery included a scraping and shaping under the knee cap. After surgery there was still sensitivity on the medial side of knee. Surgeon said it was because of the way the knee was held open during surgery and it would fade. It did for a time and now it is back. If I move my left leg from left to right and have some resistance against the foot there will be a sharp pain in the medial meniscus.

Last wk I was playing basketball and when I came down from jumping I had a real sharp pain in my knee and could not continue. x-rays show obvious knee cap deteriation ( less than 50 % of the other knee in size ) and an old MRI report said slight sublexation- I have two questions untill I get a different referral from my PCP ( although the doc stated the obvious about the knee cap he did not even bother to allow me to show him what happens when I bend my knee and it wobbles and crunchs and did not even offer a brace solution to my falls ) 1.

But no use, then had advised me to wear knee cap for few days. I was feeling better with knee cap. I removed it after 25 days, it was little better for 2 days, then again the pain is back. After few days, went to orthopedic, he said no problems and advised me to do some exercises. Then also no use. I have still have the pain in my knee and following parts....couldn't talk for more than 10 mins. Could you please advise me how to solve this and become normal.

I was a national athlete for discus and running several years back when the pain started after a funny turn to the knee. Ever since then it grinds and pops like a car going over gravel, sore aches when idle, pain when bearing weight (going up/down stairs etc) and when lying down and bending the knee. Is this really all just down to ‘slight wear to the meniscus’? How should I go about it now as I really need to do something as I can’t progress in my job if it remains like this?

Whenever I touch it or bruxh it against something I get a bad pain in the side of my knee. Seems odd that an injury on the front of the knee cap and cause such pain on the side. Looking for any info, please help. Thank you.

my daughter who is 11 broke her knee cap snapped off one of the minscus ligaments right at the knee cap and the cartilage that covers the knee was torn..she wasn't doing anything except standing when this happened..she recently had surgery on Nov 30Th to repair it.her orthopedic surgeon said that with the repair he is not optimistic about the knee cap staying in place due to bone shifting and as well as tissue degenerating..

child with a small pebbles size bump under the skin on the knee cap area. It is firm, freely moveable, regular borders, and very tender to touch. When I say freely moveable I can actually move it all around her knee cap. I moved it down so far that it disappeared for a few seconds before it resurfaced. Hey everyone, I am pregnant with my third child (about 17 weeks) with this pregnancy it has been one thing after another. First of all I have headaches everyday, now for about the last 5 hours or so, I've had a constant throbbing pain in my knee cap on my left leg. There is a bruised colored knot on the left side but that isn't where the pain is. The pain is around the bottom of the knee cap itself. I've tried a heating pad, ice, tylenol, etc. Not helping.

I have OA in my left knee, so this might help. prior to what's below, my left knee felt normal About 3 years ago, I stepped out of my shower and didn't have my full weight on it when I heard/felt a loud POP. I am walking better & the bending is getting easier. My question is (my PT guy could not answer) why do I still have fluid on the top of my knee (left side) if the holes are at the bottom sides of the knee cap.
