Avatar f tn My doctor told me to wear knee braces whenever I am going to be on my feet a lot. The knee braces help a little but they drive me crazy. My doctor told me that I need to have knee surgery on both of my knees in order to prevent it from getting worse. I have refused the surgery and now two years later they are hurting worse than ever.
Avatar m tn I am 15 and i am very active in sports i am an all star cheerleader, high school cheerleader, soccer player and softball player. I have been having knee pain for about 4 months now and my doctor told me i have patellofemoral syndrome and a bad case of patellar tendonitis, so he told me to go to physical therapy to build my thigh muscles .
Avatar m tn I played college soccer but had to retire due the most recent injury to my left knee. That injury happened around the second week of August in 2009. It was nothing traumatic other than being kicked below the knee causing a contusion to my shin and then started causing pain in my upper knee.
Avatar f tn I used to play a lot of soccer and have not in years, but I remember having knee and ankle pain quite often, enough so that I frequently wore knee braces and wrapped both ankles. Recently I started playing golf, and after playing one day I noticed some knee pain. I don't remember a specific incident or the actual onset of pain - it just seemed to gradually appear.

645800 tn?1466860955 So now I can finally put my pants on, but I then have to pull the legs up above the bottom of the knee braces as the top of the AFO attaches over the bottom of the knee braces. Of course the AFOs attach with Velcro straps as well and they stick to everything as well. Finally the struggle to get the pants legs down again past the AFOs. So far the fastest I have been able to do this is around 10 minutes. Oh and getting undressed is just as involved. So is all of this worth it?
Avatar f tn s practicing playing soccer ball. I can. Hardly sleep. The only way I can sleep is propped up. But my bed doesn't prop me up enough to be comfortable. I hate laying on my left because all she does is kick the crap out of me while i trying to sleep. I'm starting to nest all I want to do is clean and get things ready for her. Because we don't have much longer to go. I've always had knee problems even before I got pregnant and the extra wait kills my knees.
Avatar m tn My four years kid lately is suffering from knee pain started on one knee then for both knees and sometimes he cries. He loves soccer. He is having soccer training in the club 3 times weekly for about 1:30 hours each session and he wears soccer shoes from about 4 months.
Avatar f tn He did an ultrasound and drew off some more fluid and gave him another cortizone shot. The first doctor drew the fluid from under his knee and the second drew it from his knee cap. It has been several weeks now and his pain is back he still has a little swelling but now both his knees hurt. He wears a brace on both his knees now. He has trouble getting up if he has to get down on the ground for something. We are not sure what to do now because both doctors has told him all his test look fine.
1456157 tn?1285374334 My daughter had a knee injury about a month ago playing soccer (just apparently landed on her knee wrong on the field). We took her to our local clinic where they did an MRI and apparently the results were viewed by a radiologist and orthopedic doctor. The finding was pulled ligaments in her knee but nothing torn. We went to a Sports Therapy Clinic where through the course of exercises and a few visits, she was deemed okay to go back onto the field.
4966610 tn?1362054308 I have a toy/mini poodle named Shadow who is over 12 years old. He weighs 12.5 lbs. He has several serious medical issues including a luxating patella (trick knee) on his right rear leg. Because of his age, and his medical condition, I don't want to chance surgery to repair this as there is more of a risk of fatality from surgery and or anesthesia as he gets older. Unless there is some dire need for surgery, I am looking for a non surgical solution for this problem.

Avatar f tn m not a doctor and cannot diagnose your condition, a knee brace might be a suitable solution for you. Knee braces can provide support, stability, and pain relief for various knee issues, including meniscus tears. By wearing a knee brace, you can alleviate some of the stress on your knee and promote healing.
Avatar m tn My daughter is a college soccer player and is having knee pain on the inside of her knee/near the medial meniscus. It hurts (dull pain) when she straightens it and puts weight on it. It gets sharp when she goes into tackles and her foot gets turned out. Anyone know what could be causing it?
Avatar n tn after i had gotten the mri and was informed i had just bruising and no tears. i went back to playing soccer. as i was kicking a soccer ball ( im right footed) my knee gave that dislocation feeling and i just hit the ground in agony...i point out the fact that im right footed because thats the foot that was in mid air. i had no weight on it... it was back ready to kick the ball just before giving that foward motion. i cant keep having this happen. I need more of an answer that it will heal..
Avatar f tn well you knee pain can be a factor from playing soccer ....
Avatar m tn Hence first physical therapy is started. Other treatments include knee caps and braces, taping the patella to reduce friction, anti inflammatory drugs, custom designed foot wear to correct arch problems if any and rest to the knee joint. Please discuss these treatment options with your specialist. You probably need an initial period of rest for the knee (maybe strapping it in braces) followed by physical therapy. Take care!
Avatar f tn I dislocated my knee in April this year, went to the hospital and they popped it back in. It took from April to July for me to recover, with different knee braces and pysico. A week after getting discharged from the hospital in July, my knee dislocated again however this time it popped back in by itself, it took until September for it to be fixed. I just got discharged from physio last week (November).
233622 tn?1279334905 I am not sure what AFO stands for but they are braces that go from just under my knee down under my foot. They are for foot drop and help support my legs and hips. They are not bad but it makes wearing shorts or a dress not as attractive as it used to be.
Avatar f tn m sitting and move it a certain way i cannot make them go straight without pain and then a pop. Also when I ice skate or roller blade the medial side of my left knee cap hurts and the lateral side of my right one, what does this mean if anything?
1308443 tn?1302693321 I am doing exercise I found online and wearing knee braces during karate. Nothing seems to help. The doctors keep telling me sorry just wait I out take 4 advil when they hurt. That doesn't help at all. Is there something else I should do or suggest to the doctors?
Avatar n tn Then after 8 weeks, the surgeon sent me to strength training to build back up for soccer. To see how my knee reacted to cutting and shifting. The real swelling begun then. So the surgeon took me off all activity and had me rest for 2 weeks on celebrex. Swelling went down (of course) and then he said resume activity slowly. Swelling returned. Now he tells me that I have to rest again for another 6 weeks and Im back on celebrex. Does rest really make it heal? Will it ever get better?
Avatar f tn I was playing soccer when i went into a tackle my Body got twisted around but my foot and lower leg stayed still. I felt a massive pain through my knee on the inside of my knee and heard and felt a snap. My team mates imediatly came running over because they said they heard a snap sound to and that it looked nasty when i did it. My coach put ice on it and strapped it up but i can only put a tiny amount of weight on it before my knee collapses.
