Avatar f tn If using weights what I was told when I used a personal trainer that if you are upping 15-20 reps without straining they are too light. Make sure to do three reps as well. Avatar f tn My strength training is 3x per week and my routine is 1 rep at the maximum weight with perfect form then 12 reps. at a lighter weight then 25 reps. lighter. this is done on machines so the only rest is when I place the pin in the next weight class. I then rest for 90 seconds and repeat this 2 more times.
Avatar f tn For getting toned just do leg workouts. I believe if you do moderately low weight, but lots of reps is the best way to tone. Biking is my favorite method. If it is fat around your hips/legs there is no way to target that. Your body starts storing from one area and moves to another the more you gain. And fat loss works the same. First place you gain it is the last to lose it. Running is my favorite way of taking care of fat.

Anyways, since i lost all this weight, my body has changed and i'm much thinner but sadly i still have some untone muscle and skin on my stomach and little flubber on my upper upper inner thighs. Daily I run anywhere from 3-6 miles and i do three sets of crunches, "russian twists", planks, and lunges.
Avatar n tn Anyways I feel pain in inner part of my form arm when I bring my arm into an arm wrestling position and I flex my bicep and formarm with my foraram touching my bicep. My hand is closed as if I were holding a hammer in my hand. Also when put my arm across my chest and rotate my palm inward with a slight raise of my shoulder I feel pain in my shoulder, mostly in the rear and it seems it shoots down my bicep, which i believe is the bicep longhead area.

I know that bodybuilders differ on this question -- more reps with lighter weight or fewer reps with higher weight -- so much that I just assume nobody really knows which is better. For injury reasons, lower weights work better for me at the age I'm at now.

You should be doing 1 to 2 sets of 15 to 20 reps for each exercise, one exercise per major muscle group. You need one day of rest per week, so 6 days/wk of working out at most. Next, stop taking diuretics/laxatives! Although you may lose a few pounds in the short run, the weight you "lose" is from water, not fat, and you will gain it back.
193609 tn?1292180293 i have three pounders (but im pretty weak) they have different sizes pretty cheap...i do one set of 15 reps of each of the following exercizes...but you can do two or three sets and it wont hurt you. do the bicep curl, arm lifts (where you hold the weights in each hand and lift your arms up on either side, side to side, not frontways...although fronways would be a good exercise too) you can do some lunges to while your at it, thats always fun...
Avatar m tn next i did some bicep curls 1 set of 30 and another of 35 about 8-10 reps each. then i did lat pulldowns about 8-10 reps of light weights. after i did that, i began to feel light headed. so i stopped working out and just rested and drank water. after roughly 10 minutes, it started happening. i began feeling really lightheaded, lil dizzy, hot, sweaty. then the mother load came down on me..i was literally blinded by lights.

But I'm 25 weeks now and workout about 3 times a week. I've lowered my my lifting and squatting amount significantly but havnt given it up altogether.

Stay away from ab workouts, dont let anything hit your stomach, be careful of lunges ,you can lose ur balance. Squats put too much pressure on ur stomach, try to do other leg workouts, such as leg press ,hamstring curls etc. When you do cardio try to keep ur heart rate below 142.
Avatar m tn But then I started doing circuit training and using a stationary bike. I also upped my workouts to 5-6 days a week. And let me tell you--the stomach melted off. I used to have a 32 inch waist and 38 inch hips, and now I have a 28 inch waist and 39 inch hips. Now I'm an hour glass and have a much flatter stomach. The only change I made to my diet is eating more protein. Moral of the story?
Avatar f tn I like doing upper and lower body on the same days.( Mon. Wed. and Fri.) That's my preference! You can do the same or If you want you could do upper body on Mon. Wed. and Fri. Then do lower body Tue. Thur. and Sat. First thing before doing any exercise is to warm that muscle by lifting a light weight about 10 times to bring blood to and warm that muscle! As for how much weight to lift it's important to perform the exercise correctly!! (perfect form).

Pregnancy has made me so self concious, I am not wanting this for anyone else but I want to FEEL okay with myself. I didn't realise how upset I would be and worried about gaining weight. I know its all for my beautiful baby boy and it is perfectly normal but I feel like sh!t. So far I am 19 weeks so haven't gained anything yet but I will and I am just worried.
