Avatar n tn Obviously if these are thyroid issues, these symptoms are most common with hyperthyroid. The kidney not so much, unless its muscle in the area. I am one of the few that loses weight when hypo. Many hypo/hyper symptoms crossover. This is where lab results help. If you have these , you can post them with the reference ranges for members insight.
Avatar f tn I am new to kidney stones. I passed my first kidney stone about 2 months ago and I know I have two more. A 2mm on one side and a 4 on the other side. The first one I had happened at night, so I woke up in pain. I am just wondering is there symptoms you can feel when you are awake. Just 4 days ago, I had 4 very sharp pains in the right side my back over a 2 hour period. Today I am hit with a wave of nausea.
Avatar m tn Clear urine can be seen with liver disorders such as cirrhosis, kidney disease/failure, diabetis insipidus (kidney related), or from just being well hydrated. Kidney disease markedly increases susceptibility to fluoride toxicity. Excess fluoride exposure may contribute to kidney disease. Kidney GFR (Glomerular Filtration Rate) levels can be normal in stage 1 of kidney disease.
Avatar m tn He is speculating that she could have some kidney scarring from a past kidney infection that could be causing her htn. My daughter is adopted and I do not have any medical history, so I have just been trying to research other possible causes as I am not crazy about her being on medication withour knowing the cause of the problem.

Avatar f tn If there were kidney stones, then together with other symptoms, you'd experience burning during urination. Kidney stone can cause really strong and sharp colic pain on one side of abdomen (going elswhere from the kidney area in the back or by (usually) one side of abdomen down to the groin. This pain usually causes constipation. Gas, bloating, diarrhea...this goes more with diverticulitis. Temperature means infection, you should get antibiotics (probably according to stool culture).
Avatar f tn Had a chest CT scan for shortness of breath which incidentally showed a 4mm left renal stone. I have no symptoms and my physician's nurse simply advised me to follow up the chest CT scan in 1 year and never mentioned anything about the renal stone. Does this sound correct - I shouldn't be worried about it unless I have pain?
Avatar f tn Someone else on this forum had symptoms of what they thought were hypothyroidism but found they had hyperparathyroidism. This is very interesting as I found this article from the parathyroid website... "Kidney stones occur in about 5% of the population and are usually made of calcium. Hyperparathyroidism is the number one cause of kidney stones. Every person with a kidney stone should be tested for a problem with their parathyroid glands.
Avatar n tn On the other hand the pills could have precipitated an underlying kidney problem. You must get a kidney function tests done. You could also be having an irritable bowel. Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing brain fog (hard to concentrate, confusion, stay on task, remember things), anxiety, dizziness, headaches especially around the temples, fatigue in the afternoon/evening, muscle tension, funny taste in mouth, more frequent urination which tends to be foamy, occasional right-side around kidney area pain, uneven blood pressure readings (130/90 to 108/80 to 150/100), my temperature has been at 96.6 all week, blood tests reveal calcium at 10.6 and PTH at 90.
Avatar m tn The symptoms that you are describing are basically those of a person with a 5 mm kidney stone. I've had many stones over the years and those are the symptoms that I have every time with smaller and larger stones, with the possible exception of a POSSIBLE bladder wall thickening and that certainly not a definite. Don't worry yourself to death about anything until you have this additional test done.
Avatar m tn If an enlarged prostate has been ascertained then the cause for the enlargement has to be determined and managed.Oral medications are usually prescribed to alleviate the symptoms that come with an enlarged prostate.A urinalysis and culture of prostatic secetions may also be beneficial.
Avatar f tn t think you have one you may) caused from kidney infection. Depending on how long you have had this going on your kidney could be a little damaged which could also slightly elevate your ck or cpk. About the no eating honestly if I was in pain all the time I could not eat either. Stomach pains could be caused by Kidney infection and not eating. To make your ck and cpk level drop it is very important to drink lots of water and absolutely NO CAFFEINE!!!!!!!!
Avatar m tn Do these sound like HEP C symptoms? I've had leg aches for a couple of months as well as an irritated nose, dark smelly urine. The last month I've had fatigue and weakness and a general unwell feeling. The last few days I've had lighter coloured stools and stomach aches. Had a white tongue and a heap of anxiety. My lab tests reveal a small amount of Bilirubin in urine and a slightly elevated bilirubin in blood. ALT/AST ok so far and seemingly no liver aches yet.
Avatar f tn do not think you have a serious illness regardless of what is posted...UNLESS you are having worrisome symptoms and your doctor has concerns. Kidney and liver cysts are fairly common and a calcification of 5mm is SMALL. Basically, its a kidney stone. many people have those too. Isn't it fun being a grown up? Don't hesitate to ask your doctor every single question you have on your mind! Its YOUR body and they are paid to take care of you. Best wishes to you!!
Avatar f tn Have you had any fevers, painful urination, or blood in your urine? Perhaps you are suffering from a kidney infection or kidney stones. Is the pain sharp or dull? Does it come and go or is it constant? I would ask your doctor about doing an ultrasound, MRI or CT scan. Blood tests can be helpful in leading doctors down the right road to a diagnosis, but many times they are useless and other tests need to be done.
