Avatar f tn I got my stones for the first time while pregnant. It was miserably painful! I guess I passed it because it settled off and the pain went away. Then when my baby was about 6 months old, I had one move in my other kidney. It was miserable again. After much running, walking, bouncing, and flooding my system with water, I finally passed it right before the urologist got his chance to fish it out! I was sooo relieved!
Avatar f tn Had anyone had kidney stones? This is my 3rd child I'm 12+1 weeks.I'm healthy.but in the last 2 weeks I have had 4 kidney stones(on top of being really sick with"morning sickness"). Not kidding it IS worse than having a baby. MY ob said they don't effect the baby at all and pregnant women are more prone to getting them.had any body else had this problem.
Avatar f tn I am having a lithroscopy to break up kidney stones a stent may have to be put in place in order that the stones can pass. I have read and heard how uncomfortable this can be and are there other options to having a stent put in place.
Avatar f tn It's been three weeks since my diagnosis of having multiple kidney stones on the right side. The Radiologist who gave me my stat results said I would pass them and didnt think straining my urine was something I needed to do. I finally got in to see my urologist he was upset I wasn't straining and wanted me to have surgery since I will be undergoing IVF treatments in March. I agreed because I don't want to deal with flare up while pregnant.
Avatar f tn http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/kidney-stones/basics/risk-factors/con-20024829 This has helpful medical information that your doctor would be able to understand and discuss with you about more uncommon causes: http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/239278-overview. Its important to remember that kidney stones are not uncommon and are easily treatable if followed up on. The other conditions are clinically rare.
Avatar f tn How are you? Kidney stone pain is often associated with low back pain and abdominal pain. Kidney stones, especially those in the left kidney, can also cause significant amounts of nausea and even vomiting. As the stone moves further down the ureter toward the bladder, the pain often radiates in the groin and genital areas. In men, the pain may radiate to the scrotum. In women, the pain may radiate to the labia or even the vagina.
5787494 tn?1387148684 With my 1st pregnancy I was having pains in my right kidney all day couldn't tell what the problem was and wasn't peeing blood or anything. Went to the hospital since it wouldn't go away after a couple hours and it turned out to be kidney stones. I've never had them in my life but apparently pregnant women can get a calcium build up and it causes them. If the pain goes on for a long time I'd get it checked just in case.

757137 tn?1347196453 Magnesium will get rid of kidney stones, and cranberry juice will prevent them.
Avatar f tn ve heard plenty of women say that they had no idea they were in labor and got to the hospital for a routine check and ended up being almost fully dilated. Due to kidney stones and how big my baby is compared to my body my midwife suspects he's going to come a little early, so can you give me some things to look for that will help me know when to go in? I've already been losing my mucus plug and experiencing bh contractions, but when do I absolutely need to call my dr?
Avatar f tn While I was pregnant I had kidney stones and a kidney infection. I ended up having a miscarriage at 8 weeks, and that was 2 weeks ago today. I went to the hospital last night with horrible kidney pain that went through to my abdomen and they did a CT scan and said I had kidney stones, a bladder infection and that the cyst on my ovaries from 4 months ago had grown to about 3.2. What is causing this? And what should I do about it? Are any of these things related? Should I worry about the cyst?
Avatar f tn Well, women are late all the time for a variety of reasons. Things like illness, yes, kidney stones count, stress, weight gain or loss, changes in routine, etc. can all affect things. You could have a simple cyst on your ovaries too which would account for the pains -- most women get those from time to time too and they pass on their own. OR you are just getting cramps prior to your period. If you don't get it soon, check in with your doctor so he/she can measure your hormone levels.
342647 tn?1291107933 I suffer from kidney stones... they suck, but I have a high pain tolerance and opt not to take anything. Yes, they hurt... but if you think about how the pain won't last forever, it helps. And, the stones would have to be pretty large for them to cause kidney damage. Just so you know, most of the time kidney stones resolve themselves. They will break down in the kidneys and most of the time you won't even know you are passing them.
Avatar f tn I was always told how uncommon it was for a girl my age (first stones were at age 19,I am now 27) to have kidney stones and also plus because I am a woman and women don't tend to get them. I was never ever offered any help even after asking for advice from many doctors on what should I do?? I have had kidney stones at least 3-4 Times a year. But this past month I have passed 10 stones so far and counting. Each time at the ER I am prescribed pain meds and anti nausea pills and sent home.
Avatar m tn Since 1994 I have had over 250 kidney stones. I drink at least a gallon of water each day, am on meds to break up stones, which dont work, on meds for bp which also cuts calcium down in the body, on a low-oxalate diet, low calcium diet, and just found out i have 6 more stones. 1-6mm on left and a 3 mm on left side, and 4 stones with the range of 1-3 mm on the right side. I hurt all the time, urologists thinks im in there for the narcotics, what is someone supposed to do? Hurt?
Avatar f tn I have kidney stones and I'm pretty sure I'm not passing one but my right side is in alot of pain. It tends to happen now around my period. Also starting to get sharp pains in side my vagina. No pain when going pee. Does anyone know what could be wrong with me?
200198 tn?1259887597 they got worse until I ended up with a kidney stone at 24wks, and then 3 more at 33-35wks. Kidney stones are actually not all that rare for pregnant women, especially if you have a higher blood volume than most pregnant women (i.e. twins :) ) because your kidneys are being so overtaxed...apparently mine was caused by an extra large placenta, so I was pumping nearly double the blood and it affected my kidneys...Drink Lots and lots of water....
Avatar f tn m considered high risk due to kidney and gall stones. Taking the prenatal vitamins will cause me to develop large kidney stones because of the calcium in them. Also when your hormone levels raise during pregnancy they speed up the growth of gall stones. At anytime of the pregnancy I can have my kidneys shut down from a kidney stone that is to large to pass and an infection will develop. Also have a gall stone get to large and block off the gall bladder to the pancreas.
Avatar f tn Hyponefrosis is where your baby lays tilted because of your uterus and lays on your ureters that connect to your kidneys causing them to inflame and causing back pain that feels almost like kidney stones moving or like you have a kidney infection. If the pain makes you nauseas, I would definitely ask your doctor about it.
Avatar f tn Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, constipation, ovary involvement in women, ectopic pregnancy in women (ruled out due to long history) , and mesentry (a thin tissue that carries the blood, nerves and lymphatics for the intestine) involvement.
409451 tn?1206896632 I have been having increasingly worse periods the last year (ever since I had my daughter), but especially the last 3-6 months. Then noticed I was extremely tired, have almost constant lower back pain, and had off and on abdominal pain some extremely sharp-took my breathe away (during period) others just random off and on pain. Also noticed a swollen gland in groin that's been there almost 2 months (no pain there).
Avatar f tn m 33 w and have passed four stones since 10 wks. I still have one in my ureter (stuck) which caused my kidney to not pass urine to my bladder... causing it too swell. At this point the pain is causing me to have pre term labor but the drs don't feel comfortable doing surgery as it could put me into labor. So I am coping with pain meds. Most of the time there is very little they can do when pregnant!
Avatar m tn In the last month I had to go to the ER for kidney stones. After taking a CAT scan it showed that I have several stones still in my kidneys. I have an appointment with a kidney doctor who is a stone specialist according to my uroligist. However the appointment isn't until April. So i am sitting here hoping not to have another problem until then. Anyone had the same problem as me. As for my stones most are very small (2 mm).
Avatar f tn The biggest problem with kidney stones is inducing labor since your body is in distress I have a history of them and my ob told Mr if I feel like I'm having kidney pain to go to the hospital right away just to be safe they will usually keep you over night and make sure you pass them they don't directly affect the baby
