463595 tn?1333997222 I feel your pain. With my second pregnancy I had horrible kidney stones. I ended up in the hospital numerous times. I had numerous kidney stones and one that was too big to pass. I ended up having to have a stent put in (while pregnant). I was in horrible pain for the remaining 11 weeks of pregnancy. Drinking lots of water is supposed to help. I am pregnant again now and pray I do not get any this time. Good luck.
Avatar n tn Does anyone have or had kidney stones or kidney infection during pregnancy? How was your experience? Any natural way to feel better? I was admitted 3 days at the hospital, had the worst pain ever. Still feeling some pain and lots of diarrhea. Sorry for the Tmi.
Avatar f tn I feel for you dear! I before pregnancy is prone to kidney stones...which puts me s high risk! I know kidney stones are painful enough but to add pregnancy on top of it...its so much worse! I do hope the best for you and a fast recovery!
Avatar f tn m 33 w and have passed four stones since 10 wks. I still have one in my ureter (stuck) which caused my kidney to not pass urine to my bladder... causing it too swell. At this point the pain is causing me to have pre term labor but the drs don't feel comfortable doing surgery as it could put me into labor. So I am coping with pain meds. Most of the time there is very little they can do when pregnant!
Avatar f tn With my last pregnancy i had such bad kidney stones that they were blocking my ureter (the tube going from your kidney to your bladder) which caused all the urine on my left side to be stuck in my kidney i got really bad hydronephrosis (excessive swelling of the kidney) and had to have a stent placed 4 times while pregnant to let the urine flow correctly again!
4268628 tn?1375041176 I have mutiple kidney stones and gullstones. I would say go in because if u do have one lodge somewere it could cause an effection and poetentially hurt u and the baby if it doesn't get fixed. I had an episode twice were I thought it was my kidney stones and it was my gullstones same type of pain which I never new until now. Its better to be safe then sorry why be more uncomfortable then u already are. Good luck and keep updating.
Avatar f tn Iv had afew kidney stones in the past and it is n absoulte living hell. When i first found out i was pregnant i would joke like " watch im gonna get one while im pregnant" well its no laughing matter now that im 17 weeks and pretty damn shure i have one. Less sever then the previous ones but i do fear it becoming more sever.my question is, does anyone know what they do for them during pregnancy? Befor they just threw a script of percs at me and idpass it on my own.
Avatar f tn I'm 25 weeks and have history of kidney stones prior to pregnancy. I currently have them, yes plural. They're awful and no one should experience them, especially during pregnancy. I'm sure you're on flomax and an antibiotic? Also, the only thing that seems to remotely help are hot baths. My doctor informed me that if we can make it through this, labors a breeze.
Avatar f tn The dr says kidney stones are normal for some pregnancy but I've never heard of urine going back up in the kidney. They put me on a medication to help keep the tube open but I can't be on it for the rest of my pregnancy. I hope it stays open, I'm so worried about having surgery.
9358102 tn?1418673367 I get kidney stones each time I get pregnant. Mine are caused by the xtra calcium that I consume while taking prenatals. I normally stop getting them about 6 months after giving birth. It's annoying and super painful but I want to give my babies the nutrients they need so I continue to take them.
5900973 tn?1396064391 I found out monday I have kidney stones for the 2nd time this pregnancy... :( I am going in friday for my csection and just hoping the pain eases up for me or that I just pass the dang stone... I dont want to be dealing with that after the birth. It just seems like bad timing, not that there is a good time for these things... Tmi but my urine looks like cranberry juice, kinda scary but I know its from the stone. I have been drinking tons of water.
Avatar f tn Blood in urine is a sign of a really bad bladder infection or kidney stones..I had kidney stones with my first and never peed blood..got kidney stones again this pregnancy was peeing blood they said bladder infection but I ended up in hospital 3 days later with kidney stone attack so I either had both or was trying to pass stones..I would call my doctor so they can get a urine sample while you are peeing the blood out..

Avatar f tn How many here have dealt with kidney stones during pregnancy? I am 18 wks 5 days and have a stone that needs to pass. Hurts excessively. I had a stone with my last pregnancy at 34 wks. That time required surgery to remove. If this is not gone by Monday I may be headed that way again.
Avatar f tn Rhe pain was worse then labor I swear. Have any of you ladies had kidney stones during this pregnancy? Im due nov 28th and im already dealing with all the pain that comes along with pregnancy and I cant go through that again.

Avatar f tn I had a uti that turned into a kidney infection with kidney stones :( no fun but I'm also prone to kidney stones. Did your dr give you any antibiotic??
Avatar f tn Has anyone had kidney stones during your pregnancy and what did the pain feel like. I went to the hospital earlier and was sent home and told I was just experiencing round lig pain but I'm a bit skeptical of that verdict because it lasted for hours and the pain was so intense. I didn't test positive for a uti either but idk what to think. I dont have bloody urine but i swear i peed out something resembling a small pebble earlier too.
Avatar n tn s really not an issue unless you continue to have kidney stones throughout the pregnancy like I did with my firstborn). But truly pain medicine under the care of a doctor can be done quite safely. The bigger concern is your kidney function while you're. Make sure and report any pain that breaks through the meds, pee that is excessively bloody, or if you aren't peeing as much as usual despite increasing water intake.
Avatar f tn Had anyone had kidney stones? This is my 3rd child I'm 12+1 weeks.I'm healthy.but in the last 2 weeks I have had 4 kidney stones(on top of being really sick with"morning sickness"). Not kidding it IS worse than having a baby. MY ob said they don't effect the baby at all and pregnant women are more prone to getting them.had any body else had this problem.
Avatar f tn I had kidney stones with my pregnancy and was poon oxycodone off and on since April and I had my daughter in June and she was just fine no defects and she wasn't addicted to them either.
Avatar n tn Hi, Kidney stones form when the components of urine are out of balance. When this happens, the urine contains more crystal-forming substances, such as calcium and uric acid. Kidney stones are also prone to develop in highly acidic or highly alkaline urine. Sometimes, the underlying cause is an inherited metabolic disorder or kidney disease. Gout, inflammatory bowel disease and some medications promote specific types of kidney stones.
4268628 tn?1375041176 I passed two kidney stones while pregnant with my first child. It was some of the worst pain I have ever felt. Hopefully, whatever it is they find out soon and get it fixed. Good luck.
