Avatar f tn I am new to this but I wanted to get on and figure out if anyone has had any symptoms like me.... I have had a pain in my right lower back since January. It started out only coming about once a month over my period...then it became more frequent. I went to the doctor and he sent me to a urologist. He said that I had kidney stones. But they were still in my kidney and they don't hurt while in the kidney. He did many cat scans, xrays, and a 24 hour urine test.
Avatar f tn i am used to the pain and can deal with it, what scares me is the kidney pain. normally i dont get kidney pain with the stones. i had to have only one stone removed surgically, it was stuck in the lining of my urethra, total pain on that episode before and after! Does anyone have any knowledge on preventing calcium oxalate stones that i havent tried already? i cant take diuretics because of a sulfa allergy, the potassium citrate does nothing, and i have slowed down on tea and cheese.
168348 tn?1379357075 magnesium for the prevention of calcium oxalate kidney stones. I cannot take Urocit K because of terrible GI side effects, so my Urologist suggested this to help disuade them from forming. My calcium levels are normal. I have a condition called MSK (Medullary Sponge Kidney) that predisposes me to producing calcium oxalate or calcium oxalate/phosphorous stones. I avoid all oxalate containing foods and don't take any extra calcium supplements or antacids containing calcium Thanks.
Avatar m tn Hi, The prostate stones are usually asymptomatic and in case they are symptomatic like they produce any pain or are associated with any infection, the only remedy is the surgical removal. There are no medications to get rid of the stones. Please consult a urologist for the same. I sincerely hope that helps. Please do keep me posted. Take care.

Avatar n tn But does anyone know if there are any long term problems it can cause? Like Kidney problems, such as stones, or in many years, kidney failure? Does anyone know if i am losing calcium which could lead to bone problems as I age? Or is Phosphaturia really harmless? Thanks!
Avatar n tn My husband has a history of kidney stones (like his father who has suffered with them for over 30 years). This time however, he didn't experience the pain in his side, back or abdomen. Instead he has pain in the tip of his penis. He doesn't believe he has passed the stone yet but has not been straining his urine (strainer is lost - been a while since last stone). Is it possible he passed the stone and the pain is the remnants of this? He is not vomiting nor does he have fever.
Avatar f tn In reading many articles, I have also found that various and numerous physicians state that neither will do any good with regard to kidney stones. I guess if it works for you then it is good and if it doesn't work, it's definitely not that good. As I said, for me neither one has any positive affects but neither one can hurt you either so I can't see where it would hurt anyone to try one or both of those, in moderation of course.
Avatar m tn Since 1994 I have had over 250 kidney stones. I drink at least a gallon of water each day, am on meds to break up stones, which dont work, on meds for bp which also cuts calcium down in the body, on a low-oxalate diet, low calcium diet, and just found out i have 6 more stones. 1-6mm on left and a 3 mm on left side, and 4 stones with the range of 1-3 mm on the right side. I hurt all the time, urologists thinks im in there for the narcotics, what is someone supposed to do? Hurt?
Avatar n tn Causes can be divided according to the affected organ and they are Kidney conditions (infection, pyelonephritis, kidney stones, polycystic kidney disease), Bladder conditions (cystitis, bladder polyp, bladder tumor), Urethral conditions (Sexually transmitted diseases, urethral injury, vaginal inflammation), and certain bleeding disorders. You should visit your urologist who needs to conduct a detailed examination. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the advice! I was reading online about some home remedies like Vinegar and tea tree oild. Does anyone know if its normal for it to burn? I a very small amount of Tea Tree oil on the area and its quite uncomfortable right now. Normally warts that you find on your hands and stuff don't burn when you treat them so I'm second guessing what this may be? Has anyone else experienced burning when doing a home remedy?
1660289 tn?1302556798 After a lot of research I found that you can give dogs, cats and people Raw Apple Cider Vinegar (with mother) which will dissolve the crystals and stones. I dissolved my kidney stones with ACV and Aloe Vera juice, but Aloe Vera is toxic to cats (Not sure about dogs), but the vinegar has done wonders for my cat. I also got some cranberry powder from Amazon which I mix with his food.

Avatar m tn The only way to stop progress to some extent is take a calorie and carbohydrate/fat restricted diet. Enlarged gall bladder due to stones can only be treated by either removal of the gall bladder or removal of stones. This is something that can hardly be controlled by diet and medication, except when there is infection in gall bladder. Take care!
