Avatar f tn This past friday at 1:20am I was rushed to the ER from sudden back pain that was unbearable I was so scared for my baby.. Came to the conclusion it's kidney stones and I became more terrified because there's not many pain killers they could give me other than tylenol and morphine, so about the last one I asked if it was ok for my baby, first they said not sure!!
5900973 tn?1396064391 I found out monday I have kidney stones for the 2nd time this pregnancy... :( I am going in friday for my csection and just hoping the pain eases up for me or that I just pass the dang stone... I dont want to be dealing with that after the birth. It just seems like bad timing, not that there is a good time for these things... Tmi but my urine looks like cranberry juice, kinda scary but I know its from the stone. I have been drinking tons of water.
Avatar n tn Also, specifically, lemon juice appears to break down CaOx stones. I pass a kidney stone at least once a month, so I completely understand what you are going through. No doctor would expect a 9mm stone to pass on its own, its just too big. I personalyl wouldn't be that anxious to break it up though, because a 9mm stone can make quite a few smaller ones. Luckily, in some blessed individuals, stones can stay in the kidney painlessly for many years without causing any trouble at all.
Avatar m tn Drink plenty of water! The following is for Kidney stones There are nutrients you need to add—and to limit. Vitamin A (not betacarotene) promotes healthy functioning of the urinary tract, so people who are deficient in it sometimes form kidney stones more easily than others. You’ll find vitamin A in most good general multiple vitamin and mineral supplements (which you and everyone to take even when you supplement with individual nutrients).
Avatar m tn Is there anyone else out there who passes kidney stones about once or twice a week?
Avatar n tn In Dec, ultrasound showed hydronephrosis and hydroureter with stones again in the lower pole of the kidney. Nothing was done other than observation. In Jan, a bunch of small stones passed naturally. Last week, Feb, a mag3 renal scan and ultrasound were done that showed hydronephrosis and hydroureter still present but no stones in the kidney. The uptake and washout of urine from the kidney was slow compared to the other kidney (about 70% vs 30% function for good and bad kidney instead of 50-50).

4321198 tn?1426545874 I had sever kidney stones from mid-1980's until about 2008. I also had my share of lithotripsy's, both wet and dry. In 2008 I questioned my urologist about ridding my self of stones. she told me my stones were of low oxalate and that if I cut back on about 19 food sources, I should see relief. On the 19 food sources I cut back about 70% or more. Since 2009 I have not had ONE bout of kidney stones. I asked why the devil did the urologist NOT tell me about those 19 foods.
18533109 tn?1465640552 Get It but ,Usually, an imaging test and an analysis of urine are done to diagnose stones. Tiny stones may cause no symptoms, but larger stones can cause pain in the area between the ribs and hips in the back. Sometimes stone formation can be prevented by changing the diet or increasing fluid intake.
Avatar m tn Recurrent kidney infection can be due to diabetes, some anomaly or defect in the kidney or due to the organisms developing antibiotic resistance. Recurrent kidney stones are found renal tubular acidosis, medullary sponge kidney, Dent's disease (genetic disease of the kidney), hyperparathyroidism, primary hyperoxaluria and Crohn's disease. Since the pain comes before periods too, it can also be due to endometriosis.
Avatar f tn As you have had/still have calcium oxalate stones, your risk of getting more kidney stones is much increased. Avoid the foods mentioned and browse the web for more information on oxalate rich foods that you should avoid or eat less of. It is also very important to always stay well hydrated. Your urologist may have advised you to drink 2 litres of fluids (4 pints) during the day, more if you are doing exercises that make you sweat or perspiring in hot weather.
Avatar f tn Hi mommies and mommies to be, as of Saturday I was 22weeks and admitted to the hospital for a reoccurring kidney issue. Avatar f tn I had some pain in September 2016 and a diagnosed kidney stone at that time. But the pain didn't really start until January this year. I had severe flank pain on both sides and abdominal pain especially after eating. Was admitted and treated for kidney infection. A few weeks later they found out my Gallbladder was overactive and removed it. Now I just have the flank pain on both sides. It is killing me.
Avatar m tn i was recently told by my doctor that trace amounts of protein were found in my urine. i have had a long history of kidney stones, over 10 yrs and have been seen a urologist for kidney stones. could the trace amounts of protein in my urine be connected to the nephrolithisis? my md (not my urologist) prescribed an ace inhibitor benazipril 10 mg to protect my kidneys from damage, and said the the trace amounts of protein in my urine may be due to the kidney stones.
4801019 tn?1359345412 Here recently about is this time last year I had a bout with a bladder infection, I was put on 3 different types of antibiotics, I was checked for kidney stones and bladder stones and those test results came back negative. Avatar f tn I had x-rays showing I had a small kidney stone proximately 2 mm in my upper left kidney. I had some signs of blood in my urine now are four months down the road and every once in a while, I will still show blood in my urine and I don’t know if I’ve ever passed the stone. My question is if a stone is forming, but not moving can it cause blood in urine?
Avatar m tn First off, many of the herbs and supplements suggested for kidney stones, at best, may aid in urine flow to some degree, but there is no plant or vitamin that can MELT kidney stones, because all stones are made with varying amounts of CALCIUM, which cannot be dissolved without risking losing other things made of calcium such as bones and teeth! Only Uric acid stones have the least amount of calcium content and therefore CAN be reduced in size through medication.
Avatar m tn Thank you so much for your thoughtful response. My kidney stone problem is a problem with oxalate. I think I will stop the turmeric for now. I am disappointed, as I thought this would help the arthritis. I certainly don't want kidney stone problems again. The calcium supplement I take is calcium citrate (not carbonate). Since I already take a prescription potassium citrate (Urocit-K), I guess the turmeric would be keeping that from doing its job of breaking down the oxalate.
Avatar n tn Does anyone have or had kidney stones or kidney infection during pregnancy? How was your experience? Any natural way to feel better? I was admitted 3 days at the hospital, had the worst pain ever. Still feeling some pain and lots of diarrhea. Sorry for the Tmi.
1528126 tn?1291768301 •burning or painful urination •pain in the back, lower abdomen, or groin •cloudy, dark, or bloody urine •foul-smelling urine •fever and chills •vomiting To confirm the diagnosis, the doctor may order an x ray called an intravenous pyelogram (IVP). In an IVP, dye is injected into a vein. The dye travels through the blood to the kidneys. As the dye is filtered into the urinary tract, it makes urine visible on the x ray and shows any blockage in the urinary tract.
Avatar f tn Thank you both VERY much. So, I have good news! And bad news...my boyfriend ended up having to go to the ER, for pain in his kidney and left testicle. We found out that he has 1 mm sized kidney stones, and that's where the pain was coming from. It runs in his family, but we caught it early when the stones were small. While we were at the Uerologist finding this out, the doctor mentioned the bumps...lucky for me, right!? haha.
Avatar n tn You could have kidney stones, and your doctor can do a urine test and CT to rule it out. The symptoms are there. I am not a doctor, but I have had kidney stones, and they hurt something aweful, just beneath the rib cage and around to the back. Sometimes the pain gets worse when the stone is moving or trying to move. Good news, they have lithotripsy now that breaks up the stones into tiny particles, which helps to get them out. There are other solutions too.
