1012861 tn?1250949418 I posted a question before about kidney stones that I have. I have 2 stones in my left kidney one 5mm and the other 2mm. I haven't had any problems with them in about a month and then last night out of no where I start having left sided flank pain and passing a lot of blood in my urine. I ended up going to the hospital for the pain. They did another CT scan and told me that the stones had not moved at all from the last CT. They gave me a shot of Torodol and sent me home.

Avatar f tn t take any chances with any kidney stone he gets in the kidney he has left. Stones are removed quickly and he and his Urologist stay in close contact during any period involving a kidney stone. I wish you the best and please let us know how you make out.

Avatar n tn m not going to be 100% positive on it, but if your son drank cranberry juice (lots of it) check into the effects of the oxalates(in cranberries) and the calcium(in your urine) building up to possibly form kidney stones, the last question on the linked page will be helpful if that's the case. http://www.uti-cleanse.com/faqs.php If not, the doctors could be just concerning about kidney infection due to the bladder infection which can get very serious.
Avatar n tn There are several things that could be responsible for your pain. The obvious given what you stated .... moving Kidney Stones! However if it is Kidney Stones be prepared for that pain to become extreme and possible send you to seek immediate medical attention. It's been several days since you posted how are you doing today? Again if it a kidney stone the pain can wax and wain as the stone moves and then can stop. If it's a very tiny stone, gravel..
Avatar m tn I have two kidney stones one in each kidney, 2.3mm and 2.8 mm diagnosed by Ultrasound. The doctor advised me to take plenty of water. 3-4 liters a day.
Avatar n tn If with symptom, a person feels a sharp, cramping pain in the back and side in the area of the kidney or in the lower abdomen. If the stone is too large to pass easily, pain as well as blood may appear in the urine. Your symptoms highly suggest kidney stones but I recommend that you have this evaluated further by your doctor. Diagnosis is through an x ray or ultrasound. The results of these tests help determine the proper treatment. Furthermore, the chance of recurring stones is high.
Avatar m tn About a year ago i began having a dull but somtimes sharp pain in my lower left side of back. Around the kidney area. I went to the emergency room and they did a ct scan on me for possible kidney stones. The ct scan showed nothing. And a couple months later the pain faded. Well about 4 months ago in march or april it came back, still a dull pain, but mostly hurts the worst in the morning, but when i get up and move around it tends to fade a little. But is still there.
Avatar m tn I had stones in both the ureter and the kidney. The dr said before the procedure that he may have to remove the the uretel stones first with a "basket" before the litho. I can't remember the actual name of that procedure though. But I also know that lithotripsy can be done for ureterel stones as well. I wish her luck, I'm sure her dr will be able to help her and provide you with all the information you need. Maybe another member can address your question better.
Avatar f tn I am a 40 year old female with a history of kidney stones. Latest ultrasound (1 year ago) noted stones bilaterally. I have had previous symptoms of UTI only to have tests come back negative for infection but positive for blood. The last 4 urine samples have all tested positive for microscopic blood ( all tests done in the past 5 months). I just had my anual physical 1 month ago and urine test noted traces of blood with no infection. My worry is that this could be a sign of bladder cancer.
5650943 tn?1374112808 have you been doing a lot of work? been on your feet all day? I'm 24+6 & a couple weeks ago I mowed the lawn, then later that night I had blood in my urine also. scared the **** out of me! but my cousin told me to just relax & drink its of water & the next morning it was gone. I hope it gets better!
Avatar m tn Everything was fine until about last week when I began to feel a slight pain in the same kidney as before. My urine (like last time) had some visible blood in it, but would go away once I began drinking a lot of water like in December. I also notice every once in a while when I urinate, I see a very small, red tissue/speck in the toilet. So, since I had many small calculi, I figure I just have another stone coming but the tissue threw me off/is worrying me.
Avatar f tn i have groin pain, addo pain and pain in my back all on left side i also suffer from severe case of bile acid malabsorption, doctors think kidney stones awaiting ultra sound. im in agony.
Avatar n tn Hi, Hematuria or blood in the urine may be a symptom of recurrent kidney stones. Are there other signs or symptoms present? There is an increased chance of stone recurrence with patients with history of stone formation. A urinalysis and ultrasound of the KUB may be able to help with the diagnosis. It would be best to see your doctor for furtehr evaluation and management. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar f tn My cat Mini is a 6-year old male cat and has recently diagnosed CRF. Also kidney stones are found in the L kidney and one in the L ureter. The vet in Hong Kong said there's nothing we can do to get rid of the stone in the ureter, only surgery of removing the L kidney, but since his R kidney is not healthy as well (calcium deposits found in the R kidney), complication rate is very high, death rate is like 60%.
Avatar m tn Is this due to kidney stones? and will having sex irrate the kidney stones and cause the blood and small blood clots in my urine and pain in my groin.
Avatar f tn As the stone moves further down the ureter toward the bladder, the pain often radiates in the groin and genital areas. In men, the pain may radiate to the scrotum. In women, the pain may radiate to the labia or even the vagina. Regarding your chest pain, causes maybe cardiac in origin or not, but not from kidney stones. But if you experience this, it is important that you seek medical help for proper evaluation. You can read more about this through this link: http://www.emedicinehealth.
Avatar f tn Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.
Avatar f tn Reddish and cloudy urine indicates that there is hemorrhage somewhere along the urinary tract, if not from the kidney itself, and this can be accompanied by pus cells in the urine. If any bacteria are detected in his urine, he will need to be treated after a culture sensitivity to determine which antibiotics the bacteria are susceptible to. This may be a requirement because he has already had two courses of antibiotics without much progress.
Avatar f tn I do not agree with your doctor that kidney stones are not life threatening. If they get lodged in the ureter or block the flow of urine this is an emergency. In fact at the age of 39 a piece of stone got lodged in my ureter and I was extremely ill. The surgeon said that I was operated in time because there was a build up of pressure that had built up in the kidney due to the blockage. Had they waited any longer, he told me, I would have had to have had my kidney removed.
Avatar f tn If the stone is too large to pass easily, pain continues as the muscles in the wall of the narrow ureter try to squeeze the stone into the bladder. As the stone moves and the body tries to push it out, blood may appear in the urine, making the urine reddish. As the stone moves down the ureter, closer to the bladder, a person may feel the need to urinate more often or feel a burning sensation during urination.
