Avatar n tn Hello, Although there are kidney stones as calcium stones but Drinking milk does not cause kidney stones. Hence your mother can take dairy products under her doctor’s guidance. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. Treatment can be started only when the diagnosis is confirmed. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar n tn Do check your diet. One high in calcium (cheese, milk, yoghurt) and fats can lead to kidney stones. Also you must drink water to keep the kidneys hydrated and efficient. My male friend gets them often and I have watched him go through them and the advice above is what the doctor's tell him every time.
452063 tn?1324074916 I have seen at least a dozen posts with kidney stones. There has to be some correlation between opiate use and kidney stones. My surgeon showed me mine on the CT scan and it's a white circle as big as a golfball. He feels it might be from chemicals but said that it's probably from my chemo. I keep thinking that he is gonna pull out a big white opiate that either says Endo or Watson on it lol. Just wondering if anyone else was told theirs was from chemicals?
Avatar f tn Anyone suffer from kidney or gull stones in 3rd trimester what did u do to treat how bad was it did u still work?
Avatar n tn I have had kidney stones since 2001. Currently (as of May 1) I have had a 15 mm and a 10 mm (as well as several of their babies) in my kidney. I have been scheduled for a systoscopy but when I went for my pre-op, I had extremely (dangerous) high blood pressure. I have never had this high blood pressure in my life (even when I went to the emergency room for kidney stone attacks).
Avatar m tn are probably and most likely from something other than a kidney stone as you suspected since the pain from a kidney stone, as you've already experienced , is from a different area of the body and the word "intense" doesn't even describe that pain! My pain from a kidney stone(s) has ALWAYS been the same type, in the same area of the body, be it either on the right side or left side, depending on which kidney has the stone(s) in it.
Avatar f tn Depends on the type of stone. I was told to drink more water when I passed mine. It could be calcium build up, but it could be because of some other issue too. You'd have to take the stone in to have it properly analyzed to know for sure.
3163650 tn?1391636550 Kidney Stones is one of the thngs that keeps me from stopping. We need them for a stone, how do you get around it? Anyway, I'm not one to talk I just relapsed. Ill let someone else give you some advice. Sorry that you feel the way you do though.

1444601 tn?1305302023 My latest CT shows multiple stones in both kidneys more in the lower pole of the left kidney without obstruction. Stones in lower pole of right Kidney measuring 2X3mm. More than one stone in lower pole of left kidney measuring 5X3mm. No hydronephrosis. No inflammatory process. But why do I have so much pain on my right side?? I had an IVP done a few months ago, which stated a slight tortuous ureter on the right side.
1444601 tn?1305302023 Hi Jen, Sorry to hear about your chronic kidney stones. I don't have MSK but I do have an abnormal number of kidney stones. I also have a very stenotic right ureter which cannot be treated... as it is an old repair. So I know about that kind of pain and my heart goes out to you! Finding the right physician is important. I can take some searching. I am not sure if you have a specific question.... If so please feel free to be more specific.
Avatar m tn (The infection may be the underlying cause of the kidney stones or it may be encouraged by the irritation from the stone(s).) If the area behind your testicles and anus feels tender, you may have prostate inflammation from infection there. It's common for prostate infection to accompany other genital infections. Avoid excess calcium if you're having any stone problems. Also avoid milk and cream completely until you've been well for a couple weeks.
1025106 tn?1251861070 bubble in urine can b from too much protein in your diet. Kidney stones can be from too much protein in your diet. and Yess, kidney damage can occur. Avatar n tn My main concern is that why do I continue to have UTI and kidney stones almost on a montly bases and how do I get rid of that pain? I am puzzled and so are the professional treating my condition. Although, IC is highly suspected, I don't understand why it seems impossible to have the correct dx. No medications helps to treat the prevention of the stones whether they are made of calcium or "infection stones"/struvite?
Avatar m tn An abscess too cannot be ruled out nor can a pain originating due to kidney stones. Kidney stones have been ruled out in your case. It could also be due to referred pain from colon. There are several causes for increased amount of gas in abdomen like gulping food rapidly, drinking aerated drinks, acidity, celiac disease, irritable bowel syndrome etc. Whether the flatulence is foul smelling or odorless should also be looked into. However it is difficult to diagnose without examining.
Avatar f tn No, I don't think it will affect kidney stones, but.. Slim fast has horrible ingredients, and I would not feed it to my dog. From their website, they list Hydrogenated soybean oil, High Fructose Corn syrup, etc. Soybean oil will make you fat, and so will high fructose corn syrup.Suffice to say, stay away from Slim Fast! Eat whole foods instead. At best, these drinks may cause rapid weight loss, but they are not healthy and usually the weight comes back later.
Avatar f tn definitely could be stones. i had 1 and mu hubby had them 2x.
Avatar f tn Also, do not take calcium carbonate mineral pills since it could contribute to kidney stones because kidney stones are actually pellets of calcium carbonate !! Only drink water which already has dissolved calcium carbonate in it.
Avatar m tn m wondering if taking these vitamins will somehow hurt my kidneys or possibly cause me to get more kidney stones? In the past the stones were analyzed and were calcium deposits. Heres what i'm taking: B-Complex Magnesium(500mg twice a day) zinc (50mg) 2 multi mineral vitamins Thanks everyone, I love this site.
Avatar n tn If it feels even similar to kidney stones, you need to get checked for that since you have a history of it. If the pain is not in your low back, then its not std related. Your kidneys are up higher.
82861 tn?1333453911 Hi Dr. Cheng. We recently adopted Doc Holliday, a dalmation, from a local rescue group. He appears to be about 2 years old, and we were told that dals have a tendency to develop bladder stones. I understand they need a chicken or lamb-based diet (no beef) and wonder what other dietary measures we need to take. Are there any supplements we should give him to help prevent stone formation?
Avatar n tn t fit well in any of the listed forums, but I think this is my best shot. I am a 34-year-old female with a 15 year history of calcium oxalate kidney stones. I have passed at least 15, and according to a recent CT scan, I have at least 7 more (several in each kidney). For several years I have been fatigued and have had sleep issues, which I attributed to having children who didn't sleep through the night.
244602 tn?1215975628 The 2011 images are of a kidney stone in my left kidney, and the images from teh CT scan in 12/2009 are of a kidney stone in my right kidney that was elsewhere when the CT scan in 7/2011 was done. http://community.webshots.com/user/villandra Current stone in the left kidney, and former stone in right kidney, are in separate photos, and photos of the passed kidney stone from the right kidney are in yet another folder.

Avatar f tn Hi Tee, Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am very sorry to hear about your untreated pain. If you have kidney stones and they are not moving you should not have significant pain. However if you do not have kidney stones that are moving or partially blocking the passage of urine you need to have your pain diagnosed. I have a long history of stones and know how very extreme the pain can be. My heart goes out to you and anyone who passes kidney stones.
Avatar f tn It took a while but the pain I was having was finally diagnosed as a kidney stone and I have another symptomatic one in the other kidney. But I wonder if kidney stones cause anemia because I suddenly became anemic just over a year ago and we have not been able to find a cause. Although I had occult blood in my urine due to the stone, it was not a lot. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this too or if anyone might know if stones can cause anemia?
