266539 tn?1281402152 For the last probably 2 weeks I have had this sharp but sometimes dull pain under my ribs on the back side. Mainly my left side but it is both at times. It is quite painful and I have had kidney stones before and it doesn't feel like it is that and I've had UTI's and Bladder infections and it doesn't feel like that either. Does anyone have any ideas on what this may be?
Avatar f tn How unusual is it for the stones to be in this meaty part of my kidney and since they are still in my kidney aren’t they just going to continue to grow larger? Are these stones causing damage to my kidneys? They don’t seem to be causing any blockages based on the ultrasounds that have been done, but I still have had frequent flank pain and blood visible in my urine prior to the surgery. Is there any hope that I will be able to be stone free and prevent more stones?
Avatar n tn Maybe muscle pain, maybe ovarian cyst, other GYN problems, could be stomach/intestinal, could be appendicitis. kidney stones. It's a toss up. At home check: have someone push slowly and deeply over pain area, hold it down, then suddenly release. If the release causes very sharp sudden pain and makes you wince, you probably have some inflammation. Call your MD NOW for advice, or get to the ER. If you are running a fever of 100 or more, call the MD NOW.
Avatar f tn I kinda got over it but 2 months later I had kidney attacks and had surgery 2 months ago for kidney stones. I have more surgery for that later this month as well. Within a day or 2 after surgery I got what feels like double ear infections, had headaches and the dizziness came back. Also continued dehydration and eye trouble. My vision seems perfectly clear but I get like an irritation that causes me to instinctively move my eyes up and down and side to side.

Avatar f tn Kidney stones are unlikely without severe pain in the back or side. Stop trying to figure it out on line. See a doctor or clinic in person. This forum is strictly limited to STDs, so that's all I will have to say.

Avatar f tn s usually no mistaking the symptoms — kidney stones, especially, can cause excruciating pain. Bladder or kidney stones can also cause both gross and microscopic bleeding. Enlarged prostate. The prostate gland — located just below the bladder and surrounding the top part of the urethra — often begins growing as men approach middle age. When the gland enlarges, it compresses the urethra, partially blocking urine flow.
Avatar f tn As you have had/still have calcium oxalate stones, your risk of getting more kidney stones is much increased. Avoid the foods mentioned and browse the web for more information on oxalate rich foods that you should avoid or eat less of. It is also very important to always stay well hydrated. Your urologist may have advised you to drink 2 litres of fluids (4 pints) during the day, more if you are doing exercises that make you sweat or perspiring in hot weather.
Avatar n tn He is 25 and last year began to have painful episodes with passing kidney stones. One stone had to be treated with shockwave lithroscopy. Scans indicate multiple, bilateral stones. Since that time, he has had gastric pain, nausea, flank pain, sleeplessness, etc. I had a parathyroid adenoma a couple of years ago myself, so I was familiar with the problems of high calcium and requested some tests. They have come back and shown a calcium level of 10.; 10.2 and 10.6. However, his PTH was 10.
Avatar n tn Blockage of urine flow from the kidney due to pieces of stone. If this causes severe pain or blockage of the kidney, a tube may be placed through your back and into the kidney to keep the kidney drained until all the fragments pass out. Sometimes, a thin mesh tube called a stent is placed into the body (from the kidney to the bladder) before ESWL to prevent this from happening. A stent is usually put in the body after laser lithotripsy.
Avatar n tn Causes of blood in urine other than the two causes that have been ruled out include kidney infections, kidney disease, trauma, bladder stones, Interstitial cystitis, tumors, etc. In men prostatitis can present with all the symptoms described above. Additional investigations required include blood tests to check for kidney function and a cystoscopy to check for injury to the bladder lining.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with bilateral kidney stones during an ultrasound. Stones are of a calcium variety. Subsequent tests reveal PTH - 138 Serum Ca - 9.3 Urine Calcium 24 hr - 124.8 Vital D 25 (OH) - 10 Please advice if this is primary or secondary hyperparathyroidism or if I need further lab tests to complete the diagnosis.
Avatar f tn Hi, My suggestion is to go the hospital. Kidney stones are not something that is easily managed even on narcotics. The longer you wait the worse it gets. How do you know he has a kidney stone?
1226479 tn?1267205690 In your case as kidney stones are present, so these definitely need evaluation as nephrolithiasis or kidney stones are known to cause hematuria. Moreover it can cause further complications. My sincere advice would be to consult a urologist. I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted. Kind regards.
