Avatar n tn I may not know much about kidney stones, but I've had multiple bladder infections and risked kidney stones before when I was 18. One thing I can say, I'm not going to be 100% positive on it, but if your son drank cranberry juice (lots of it) check into the effects of the oxalates(in cranberries) and the calcium(in your urine) building up to possibly form kidney stones, the last question on the linked page will be helpful if that's the case. http://www.uti-cleanse.com/faqs.
540521 tn?1221699706 s a urinary tract infection, or it could be kidney stones as well. The kidney stones could be hiding, i have heard of that. Has your doctor given you anything for the pain? I hope everything goes well on Wednesday and hopefully they will have more answers for you. I know it's frustrating, and i am frustrated as well but i just take it one day at a time and i would tell your doctor just how much pain you are in, maybe he can help or give you a stronger medication.
Avatar f tn I had kidney stones with my first and never peed blood..got kidney stones again this pregnancy was peeing blood they said bladder infection but I ended up in hospital 3 days later with kidney stone attack so I either had both or was trying to pass stones..I would call my doctor so they can get a urine sample while you are peeing the blood out..
Avatar m tn A recent article in our local paper has a dietician recommending a diet for minimizing the formation of kidney stones that is the exact opposite of what the diet my urologist has me on. His diet is based on what seemed logical: low calcium and low oxalates to prevent the combination of the two to form a stone in the kidney.
Avatar f tn i have groin pain, addo pain and pain in my back all on left side i also suffer from severe case of bile acid malabsorption, doctors think kidney stones awaiting ultra sound. im in agony.

Avatar f tn Before you assume your kidney stone production is based on a magnesium deficiency, you need to have your labs and stone analized. An IVP of your kidney will help determine if you don't have a "sponge kidney".Medullary Sponge kidney is an anatomical defect in the kidney which produces multiple kidney stones within pockets of the kidneys. No amount of Magnesium will resolve that. So I wouldn't go messing with your chemistry until you know why.
Avatar n tn I have had kidney stones since 2001. Currently (as of May 1) I have had a 15 mm and a 10 mm (as well as several of their babies) in my kidney. I have been scheduled for a systoscopy but when I went for my pre-op, I had extremely (dangerous) high blood pressure. I have never had this high blood pressure in my life (even when I went to the emergency room for kidney stone attacks).
11610581 tn?1419814808 If they did a urinealysis and found that your urine was clear (your words) then they probably meant that you had no blood in your urine and therefore you did not have a kidney stone. Usually with a kidney stone, although many times you can't see it with your naked eye, there will be blood in your urine. That is probably why they didn't do a Cat Scan, as they felt there wasn't a kidney stone causing your pain and problem.
Avatar f tn In February I underwent two surgeries to get rid of 10 stones. Stones sitting in your kidney can cause kidney infections. Your best bet is to see the urologist and take care of those stones. Good luck to you!
Avatar n tn I had kidney stones just a week ago but the blood in your urine means that you might have pregnancy diabetes.
Avatar m tn Everything was fine until about last week when I began to feel a slight pain in the same kidney as before. My urine (like last time) had some visible blood in it, but would go away once I began drinking a lot of water like in December. I also notice every once in a while when I urinate, I see a very small, red tissue/speck in the toilet. So, since I had many small calculi, I figure I just have another stone coming but the tissue threw me off/is worrying me.
Avatar m tn i have been to see my gp a month ago with kidney stones, painfull cramps ,the pain has gone but im passing alot of blood when i urinate and it also stings when i urinate which is about 20 times a day im male and 29 years old any help please
1534233 tn?1523388856 Sine this afternoon my urine had a red/ping tint to it. I and my wife both think its blood. I've had kidney stones before and when I passed then there was a little blood but this could be seen in the urine clearly, today it seems all mixed. Its the bank holiday and no doctors for another 4 days, I'm not going to A&E but wonder if I should visit the local walk in center or not.
Avatar f tn The last surgery I had was in 2006. I also have had/have kidney stones in my left kidney, I passed a 13mm one in June 2006. In the past year I have not had any reoccuring problems with my obstuction and stones, although I still have 6mm stone in my left kidney. This past week, I did however urinate large amount of blood, my urine was cola colored. With my history I decided to go to the emergency room cause I was very concerned.
Avatar n tn My friend suffered with stones in kidney.. they are out now. but from two days he's complaining that he lost lot of blood while urinating... he doesnt have any pain... we have consulted the doctor too yesterday...no proper outcome..only little medication suggested...can somebody let me know the reasons for this to happen..
Avatar m tn Is this due to kidney stones? and will having sex irrate the kidney stones and cause the blood and small blood clots in my urine and pain in my groin.
Avatar f tn Hi and WELCOME to our Kidney Stone Community. I'm not a doctor, but do have too much experience with kidney stones. For me, I'd get pings and pangs in my kidney as well as microhematuria (blood you cannot see by eye) in my urine when I have stones. I've also had the flank pain you describe .. for me it's been in the lower back. I hope with lots of water your stones move out for you uneveventfully. Please keep in touch. From what I've read stones <5.
Avatar f tn I have Sjogren's syndrone and develop kidney stones often and they usually pass on their on. I had one crushed three years ago. I now have one that is so large with smaller ones lodged inbetween it that have blocked of my right kidney (seen in a CT scan today). I do not want to go through the crushing again.....what are other procedures? Would like to be prepared before talking to urologist.
280736 tn?1294198374 Last summer, I had blood in my urine and the dr sent me to have ultrasounds, c scans all normal, few small kidney stones. I started having extreme pain and it ended up being shingles awful pain. Long story short.. I keep seeing blood in my urine more and more frequently. I have no pain, could this blood in urine have anything to do with the hep C? Thank you all.
Avatar n tn Creatine causes water retention which can be bad for the heart. There is rare cases also of kidney stones from taking Creatine. I would stop the Creatine before it causes any real heart damage. When blood pressure gets this high there is a higher chance of stroke.
Avatar m tn Causes can be divided according to the affected organ and they are Kidney conditions (infection, pyelonephritis, kidney stones, polycystic kidney disease), Bladder conditions (cystitis, bladder polyp, bladder tumor), Urethral conditions (Sexually transmitted diseases, urethral injury) and certain bleeding disorders. When the blood in the urine is at the beginning of urination, it most likely comes from the urethra, (the tube from the bladder to the outside).
Avatar f tn the stones so they can analyze them) is the constituents of the stones. I believe a common kidney stone is made up of calcium oxylate. If your stone has some other makeup, it can be telling as to the cause of your condition. The majority of mine was not calcium oxylate, but the "lead" that gave the docs turned out to be a dead end, so I guess all my efforts to catch that little bugger were for naught. Ah well, at least I got to see my foe!! Sigh.
Avatar m tn As per ultrasound report there is a minor hydronophrosis in the right kidney. Are there any more stones left in the kidney but not seen in the ultrasound? or there is any other reason of this pressure and dull pain?
