When i found out i was pregnant the doctors noticed i had Alot of kidney stones (6 in the right and 2 2mm in the left) since then i have been getting sicker and sicker the farther my pregnancy goes on.. I am 5'3" and 106 lbs i developed an alergy to milk and egg products, have been peeing white hard balls of stuff out and had numerous trips to the hospital. The doctors here just tell me they don't know what's wrong and basically gave up on me.. can this be harmful for the baby?
I had an ultrasound, catscan and x-ray done. Also blood test and urine tests. The doctors say it may be kidney stones that they can't see, or it may be a stone that passed which caused swelling of the kidney and the ureter. Someone told me that the swelling may be caused by "parasites" ... Is this true? Please help.
Hi i had a ct scan for kidney stones and the dosage was 149.69mgy.cm. Can you please tell me if that is a high dosage.
FWIW, my father was born with one kidney and he lived to a ripe old age. People donate a kidney all the time and live a normal life. Anything containing sodium can cause fluid retention, which can cause the ankles to swell. The traveling joint pain and rash, though, are a couple of flags for RA, and it is not at all unusual to test negative in blood work yet still have symptoms. Ask for a referral to a rheumatologist, who specializes in all manner of autoimmune disorders such as RA.
As you have the infection, I think the rash is linked to that. Never get dehydrated as this can lead to kidney stones. The water will also help to flush the bugs out. Best wishes. With the fingers looking like they have been a lot in water, this is due to the fact that there is no fluid retention in the fingers.
Urinary tract infections, urinary tract stones, and kidney inflammation may cause hematuria. Kidney problems may also present as skin conditions, thus, it is necessary to rule this out. As for the skin rash, this may be a case of contact or allergic dermatitis. You may need to have this assessed by a dermatologist. Topical corticosteroids such as 1% hydrocortisone may be applied thinly on the affected area for 3 days.
I don't like being treated this way by the doctors, i can't afford PT and the spine clinic and the pain doctor. They can't see anything major on the CT's from the kidney stones...but i have been in constant pain for bout 3 months total now and i'm about to come out of my skin. I've had a bleeding ulcer in the last 6 months and gastric bypass in the last year and half, and so they have to be careful what they give me. Does anyone think this was caused by the kidney stone or herpes?
I have a history of kidney stones and already have another calcium deposit that has developed in my left kidney (just 5 months after lithotripsy!). I also suffer from low testosterone and GERD and take Testim and Nexium, daily. Does anyone have any ideas? Is there such a thing as a hernia that can't be seen on ulrasound? Can a back injury cause these symptoms (the middle of my back has hurt during all this time, but only when in certain positions. Dead center, on spine.
We can speculate until next week, and not know for sure, and by then, your results will be back lol. I don't know a lot about kidney stones, but my ex bf used to get them, and his doc told him that once a male gets kidney stones, he is more likely to get them again. You'll know in a couple of days if you pass them. And throw out the nylon underwear lol. You don't like them, they aren't good for your skin, etc. That way you won't be tempted to wear them on low-laundry days.
i have had numerous kidney stones (6 or 7) and 2 kidney infections to the point of hospitalization for 2 weeks. all the while i was pregnant my doctor never mentioned inducing me at all. we kept a close eye on them and i was medicated through IV, but i didnt have to him my son early or an induction. he arrived at 38wks healthy as a horse! best of luck!
Before mono I had kidney stones twice at age 18 and 20..none since. I have chronic constipation and go to the bathroom about 1 time a week. The more constipated I am the worse my bladder symptoms are as well. I have been to a neurologist who ruled out ms. I have been to physical therapy twice, which helped a little.....but got worse again when done. I have seen a internist who checked me for diabeties insipidus which I did not have.
I am awaiting results of blood tests for Prolactin, Liver Function Test, Serum Calcium, Kidney Funtion and Thyroid and maybe others can't remember, PTH blood test has to be done in hospital.....waiting for result of free urinery cortisol test too.... So, I have been a busy Bee....crikey, you think nothing is being done, bit like waiting for a bus...none come for ages and then loads come at once,lol...
I went to the ER for Kidney stones and left with a red burning bumps on my right upper back n right lower front stomach. It has been a week now and it spread just a tiny bit. Some are tiny some are ncikel sizes. No blisters.
I’ve stayed away from seafood but the swelling and rash, comes and goes, and are the worst in the morning. It is very frustrating as I am not able to figure out what the problem is.
I noticed I started getting these bruises and hip pain after I had an episode of kidney stones almost 5 months ago. I also have this skin rash on my legs only as well. I noticed that all my symptoms are only on my legs. I'm not sure what it could be. I went to a Doctor yesterday and they kept asking me about a family history of lupus. I had a cbc done today that was normal. Platlets were 333, rbc 4.46 hgb/hct 12.8/39, wbc 7.7.
Aside from being a little overweight, the clotting disorders, asthma, allergies, and hypothyroidism, I'm relatively healthy. We have a family history of kidney problems (stones, infections, malformations) on my dad's side, but I've only had 1 bout with a kidney stone in 2001. All 3 of my kids have suffered from ureteral reflux as well. Both my parents were diagnosed with diabetes, but not until late in life (60's & 70's), but I don't have it.
I didn't have a rash, nor did my daughter -- at least, we never saw a rash, but it can be on the scalp and not seen. The rash seems to vary widely in different people, so I don't know that there is any rule of thumb ... but I would say it probably won't last very long.
Hi everyone. I had surgery in January for kidney stones (that was unsuccessful) and right after surgery I started having numerous symptoms affecting my whole body. My most recent started 2 or 3 weeks ago with a rash on my inner thigh that at first I thought was just from friction. Over time it's gotten worse, itchy and is also on the left side of my scalp/head. On my thigh it is tender, pink to red colored, Very itchy, and gets puffy when scratched.
There are treatments which will help you to manage your kidney stones but there is no cure for kidney stones. I myself have had kidney stones for the last 12 years and have had about 15 large stones and 2 operations to remove stones that were to large to pass. Kidney stones are painful but is not something that is life threatening such as advanced HCV and liver failure or many other diseases. In the big picture it is something that can be managed and you can live a normal life.
I ask about the antibiotic bcz my friend who had knee replacement (she also shares kidney stones with me on another board) had same thing happen and was from IV antibiotic of all things!!! Let us know .. will look for update! Also, if you have any odd moles have him take a look ... 6mos after my thyroid surgery I had a mole grow a "tail" in appearance and turned out to be Melanoma and had it looked at only on a hunch in that it was typical melanoma appearing! I am ok ..
Three times this week i've had a sudden onset of hot red patches (non itching) that felt like a bad sunburn over my hands, arms, knees and feet and middle back over the lower ribcage area. I had kidney pain for two days but no stones or burning in urine. Also the past week I have had temporary, but severe tremoring in both hands, throbbing chest pain on the left side of my sternum, My face gets pale, and mottling in legs after using the bathroom? The episodes last for about 10-20 minutes..
I had no idea what they would tell me this was, then the doctor saw some redness on my back and is thinking its Shingles or kidney stones. He’s trying the shingle meds first, muscle spasm meds and nerve meds: Gabapentin 300mg Baclofen 10mg The morning the redness was not there, it could have been anything, like from my bath or heating pad, not sure. I am just keeping an eye on my left mid back to see if any rash appears and then I will fill the script I was given for shingles.
It appeared while flying on a plane Tues as a dime-sized hive or mosquito bite, rapidly turning bright, deep red and rash-like and no longer itches after 48hrs. Today is Sun & it's still there but not any larger. I'm thinking spider? No pistule though. It's on the cheek of my butt (sorry TMI) where you sit.
You are right about me being stressed and worried about things. The rash is real though and only appeared yesterday. It is quite itchy with red patches on my penis head. Do you think that this could be balanitis? I agree with you about the testing and it doesn't fit the description for syphilis. My arms and neck glands have been really aching though over the last few days. They seem to be a little better today.
Ive been having difficulty finding a diagnosis and my health has been declining steadily. I have major pain in my kidney area, occasional headaches, kidney stones, I also have extreme fatigue. My newest troubling symptom has been this rash that looks like stretch marks on the left side of my back and my left buttock. Also started to get vilitgo on my groin and right elbow. I am a 24 year old male and I am desperately looking for a diagnosis.
Especially on my face, scalp, arms and back, but can be all over. It's not dry skin, and there is no rash. Just "the pinchies". Can't sleep. And it progresses the more aggravated I get. Seems I can tolerate it during the day. I've tried benedryl and anti itch creams. Interestingly, I do have a little tinea versicolor on my back, white dry patches that is a yeast fungus?!
My dermatologist has given me various antibiotics as he thought it might been a bad acne case but I have been on accutane and that more or less made the rash worse. I have been on dapsone and various anti ammune drugs but they do not seem to work at all. At this time the only thing that is holding the rash back is the prdnisone but that has led to other problems, kidney stones, loss of bone density, roundness of face, weight gain.

Have they checked for MS, your TSH (thyroid level), Vit D, parathyroid (which can cause kidney stones), and lymes disease. I agree with Joni, it would be a good idea for them to check your ANA. But as far as I know, lupus can not cause kidney stones. But again, there could be more than one thing going on here. Here are a few conditions and their symptoms. Hopefully they will help you narrow down your search.
