Avatar f tn The mineral content in the water calcifies in you kidneys and creates stones. 2 years of drinking and cooking with distilled water and no more stones. YOUR WATER IS CAUSING YOUR CALCIUM STONES.. DRINK AND COOK WITH DISTILLED WATER. IT IS A DOLLAR A GALLON AT THE GROCERY STORE AND YOU'LL NEVER HAVE STONES AGAIN.
Avatar f tn Sandy thanks for the tip about distilled water, appreciate that. I have a friend who has kidney stones and his doctor said that he is not drinking enough water. I am sure that is not the only reason. There are probably other factors at play. I would try to go to the site that Lynn indicated and please try to see a doctor.
4626633 tn?1382597122 History I was put on lortab 3 1/2 years ago for bladder disease and a condition which makes me produce and pass kidney stones often.. Sometimes 4-5 stones a month. A year later a bad car wreck messed my back up, and I need surgery now, but can't get until fall. My RX's always lasted.. But only because I would take 1 pill on days I was home. Which, due to an autoimmne disorder was often. I developed that a year before being prescribed the pills.
5288248 tn?1370878523 My husband has had many stones over the years and just found out in the last year that he has Stage 3 kidney disease (there are 5 stages). So being the little "researcher wife" that I am...lol.....I wanted to share a few things with you that are critical as you heal from your kidney issues as well as helping you with detox and recovery. I'm taking all these statements from my "Prescription for Nutritional Healing" book...
Avatar f tn I don't know about the Epakitin, all I can say that if mine, I would immediately switch to 'distilled' water, if he will drink. Too many minerals in regular water IMO. Distilled is all I give mine.
Avatar f tn It took a while but the pain I was having was finally diagnosed as a kidney stone and I have another symptomatic one in the other kidney. But I wonder if kidney stones cause anemia because I suddenly became anemic just over a year ago and we have not been able to find a cause. Although I had occult blood in my urine due to the stone, it was not a lot. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this too or if anyone might know if stones can cause anemia?
Avatar f tn We tried c/d for over a year and were unsuccessful. Tried giving antibiotics every 6 weeks for a week and they still returned. She drinks distilled water. Anybody have any suggestions on a good food I can get at a pet store that will not help form these stones. I love my vet but I don't want to see him this often. Thanks for any help.
325086 tn?1217971180 Yes it is a good question as I drink bottled water usually, but not always and I've never heard anything about distilled water so I'm waiting to hear. Distilled water isn't that the water that's used in the old car batteries and the clothes irons that make steam?
Avatar m tn You can get a gallon at grocery stores for about .99cents. Distilled is the purest form of water and the body can usually handle it better. If you have any kidney issues try Spring Water instead, also purchased at the grocery store. I know it sounds silly but I am so sensitive to water and I actually get motion sickness if I drink sink water and if I would drink too much after eating I would feel like I have digestion.
5288248 tn?1370878523 Thanks for the update. Kidney stones and now a stint? Talk about MAJOR PAIN, girl.....wishing you a successful surgery. We'll be here when you get that stone outta ya! And if you aren't already, drink LOTS and LOTS of water (good water). My hubby has had LOTS of stones and then an "out of nowhere" surprise yrs later with Stage 3 Kidney disease. He is improving.......and drinking LOTS of distilled water!
Avatar n tn How are you? Kidney stones may form when the normal balance of water, salts, minerals, and other substances found in urine changes.Kidney stones can run in families. They may stay in your kidneys or travel out of your body through the urinary tract. Kidney stones often cause no pain while they are in the kidneys, but they can cause sudden, severe pain as they travel from the kidneys to the bladder.
Avatar f tn They may check your kidney stones and see what they are made of, and then they can help prevent future stones.
Avatar f tn ) and yes they said drink plenty of water which is odd cause I have no history of kidney stones but since I found out I was pregnant I drink a lot of water constant thru out the day and I have favored lemon aid I don't ever drink soda or any caffeine so I think mine might be from calcium as well. They are going to analyze the stone so I'm hoping to know more later. One thing I will say is I give major propes to Anyone who has had to pass a stone- by far the worst pain I have ever felt!
Avatar n tn These agents aren't known to cause kidney stones. Most kidney stones in the US are caused by our diet which is rich in meat protein. Calcium supplementation does increase the risk of kidney stones. As far as the blood pressure goes, he should probably have his dose of the lisinopril reduced. Alternatively, there are other agents such as calcium channel blockers, beta blockers or Angiotensine receptor blockers that can also be tried. I would probably avoid diuretics at this point.
Avatar m tn Prevention strategies for kidney stones include - Increasing your daily fluid intake and taking the recommended daily allowance of calcium. Increase your fluid intake to the point where your urine volume reaches 2.5 litres a day. This may mean drinking up to 3 litres a day, if you live in a hot, dry climate or if you are involved in strenuous physical activity. Increasing urine volume decreases the concentration of minerals in the urine. This makes it less likely that a stone will form.
Avatar n tn The only advice I have is a heating pad, drink tons of water and orange juice and lemonade also lemon in your water. I know how you feel! And if it gets bad enough they can give you stronger than tylonel. Vicaden and percacet are perfectly fine.
Avatar f tn If I have had kidney stones before and sometimes get back pain where the kidneys are which is a sign of kidney stones, but it goes away, is it safe to drink ionized alkaline water when you have had kidney problems before? Does it detox too fast for my kidneys or is it safe to detox that way?
Avatar f tn I have only been on Topamax for my migraines since November 2010 and by January I had four kidney stones. One in my left kidney and three in my right. Now I have been taken off Topamax and it was so far the best medication for my migraines I was on 100mg of Topamax and went from having a migraine everyday to once a month. I miss Topamax but the pain of my kidney stones was much worse.
5650943 tn?1374112808 Went through having my appendix removed after a month of being in hospital even tjough they were adaamant it wasnt that (good job as it was close to bursting) then for the following year put this excruciating pain down to cyists on my ovaries then they found lut after having constant unrine infections that I had a cm and half kidney stone.

Avatar f tn ve been having difusse abdominal Discomfort and pain for months and after an ultrasound. My doctor said I had a small kidney stone and recommended me to put lemon juice on my water so it can dissolve it. How many lemons should I squeeze in a glass of water? I read on this forum that vitamin C causes kidney stones. Should I stop taking multivitamins that have vitamin C? How is it that kidney stones cause diffuse abdominal pain instead of staying where the stone is located?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with kidney stones almost 3 years ago but I did not get them removed as my Dr told me they could not kill me or cause any life threatening diseases, but recentley I have noticed a little bit of stomach discomfort, I would like to say pain but it doesnt hurt , it kind of feels like something is there like gas, and my stomach gurgles a little bit and once in a while I will feel a little bit of a slight pinching pain in different spots over my belly , it feels like its through the b
Avatar m tn I have been dealing with chronic kidney stones for 8 years. I have passed over 200 stones and have over a dozen currently between both kidneys. I have been to about a dozen different urologists with each telling my husband and I they don't know what to do to help me stop forming stones and then labeling me a "pain drug seeker" so they don't have to admit they can't figure it out. I am now being seen by a urologist at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD.
Avatar m tn Has anyone here with kidney stones tried vitamin B6 and magnesium to prevent new stones from forming? I read a study that concluded that taking 50 mg of B6 daily with 300 mg of magnesium oxide (one of the least absorbable forms of magnesium) will prevent future kidney stones. I also read that potassium and B6 does the same. Perhaps the magnesium works because potassium is better absorbed if there is sufficient magnesium.
Avatar m tn At first it was only in my side so I thought I had appendicitis. Went to the ER and they said it is possibly stones. They gave me some ibuprofin 800 and told me to drink plenty of water. I have been doing this, but a year later the pain is still there. Sometimes it becomes unbearable and makes me feel sick to my stomach, but I down a gallon or so of water and it goes away only to return later. The pain is getting worst.
Avatar m tn m 19 years old and I have been having intense pain in my kidney area on both sides for about 4 months, and I have been to 2 urologists. While they have diagnosed me with kidney stones and they said that I have a couple of small stones in each kidney, but they are not blocking anything so they are not the cause of my pain. I have also been to a physical therapist who said it is not musculoskeletal. I have also been having hematuria for at least 2 months.
