kidney-stones

Avatar n tn I have had kidney stones since 2001. Currently (as of May 1) I have had a 15 mm and a 10 mm (as well as several of their babies) in my kidney. I have been scheduled for a systoscopy but when I went for my pre-op, I had extremely (dangerous) high blood pressure. I have never had this high blood pressure in my life (even when I went to the emergency room for kidney stone attacks).
Avatar f tn I had the same problem i had kidney infections and kidney stones the whole time I was pregnant and they finally induced me at 37 weeks...
Avatar f tn definitely could be stones. i had 1 and mu hubby had them 2x.
Avatar f tn I was thinking that this could be a UTI or kidney stones but as we live in a small village in Alaska and it is a monumental monetary undertaking (plane ticket or ferry ticket just to get to a larger town with a doctor, not to mention transportation and THEN the doctor visit... she is on a fixed income), we need to be VERY sure its not something that can be rectified at home before we commit to the expenditure. Any advice, recommendations, suggestions would be helpful and appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar f tn 8 and 1.5. Last 2 GFR were 47 and 49. History of kidney stones. 7 years ago I had sepsis and had a kidney stone in my right kidney. A nephrostomy tube was placed for 3 months. Should I see a nephrologist?
82861 tn?1333453911 If there is no infection than your dog has kidney damage or kidney failure, and you will have to treat agressively to save the kidneys by using Sub Q fluid therapy, phosphate binders if the phosphate is also elevated, kidney saving herbs such as Rehmannia 8 and more. Please write back once you have additional test results. Thanks.
Avatar n tn hello, I recently had a 5mm kidney stone and had it removed. The urologist was going to put a stent inside of me. And when they did the procedure they were able to remove it. I have to see a urologist. He told me not to get pregnant. I was in the hospital trying to pass it for 3 days and it was worse than child birth. What is the best thing to do to prevent that from coming back? I quite drinking pop and coffee. i have been mostly drinking water. Will that help?
Avatar n tn I found a suppository medication w the belladonna flower works best for my kidney pain and stones and spasms your urologist can prescribe this ornother meds, but i would be weary of narcotics other than that, as most contain Tylenol and Tylenol damages kidneys ultimately m. Change your diet around no black tea black coffee soda or too much bread.. these contain oxylates which is what forms stones in your body I switched to green tea m( more caffeine than coffee and hydrated you and is safe!
Avatar m tn First off, many of the herbs and supplements suggested for kidney stones, at best, may aid in urine flow to some degree, but there is no plant or vitamin that can MELT kidney stones, because all stones are made with varying amounts of CALCIUM, which cannot be dissolved without risking losing other things made of calcium such as bones and teeth! Only Uric acid stones have the least amount of calcium content and therefore CAN be reduced in size through medication.
Avatar f tn The mineral content in the water calcifies in you kidneys and creates stones. 2 years of drinking and cooking with distilled water and no more stones. YOUR WATER IS CAUSING YOUR CALCIUM STONES.. DRINK AND COOK WITH DISTILLED WATER. IT IS A DOLLAR A GALLON AT THE GROCERY STORE AND YOU'LL NEVER HAVE STONES AGAIN.

Avatar n tn I had a stone that blocked my kidney and even after blasting would not come out without being scooped out. This was in my left kidney. Kidneys were both checked out thoroughly for damage and other stones - neither of which was found. Questions are...Since it has been two months and I haven't passed any stones are they likely to just stay put? If the larger one gets stuck after I have my surgery will they be able to go in and get it out without cutting me or screwing up the TVT?
Avatar f tn I can relate. I had a 1, 3 and 6 mm stones (lower and mid pole) prior to a lithotripsy in July 2022. In November, kidney pain returned. A CT scan revealed 3 and 4 mm stones in lower pole, and 2 1 mm stones in renal collecting system (no idea what that is). I would consider this a failed lithotripsy -- now more stones that will likely grow and not passing. My doctor appointment is in 2 weeks. Not sure what to expect. I've had 3 lithotripsies -- may not be as effective as expected.
Avatar f tn Has she had a CT Scan w/o contrast in regard to the stones? What has it shown? I have an uncommon kidney condition called MSK (Medullary Sponge Kidney) along with having had out 1/2 my thryoid bcz of nodules that were atpical but my parathyroids were fine and all tests were A-OK that both my Uro and Endo have run inc. a 24hr urine test. Has your daughter had a 24hr urine test? That is important too.
Avatar f tn The doctor prescribed my mom to much calcium when she was pregnant with me and it gave her kidney stones and pretty much killed my left kidney. Well I know your not suppose to have caffeine that it effects the one kidney I have. And I also found out recently I'm 7 weeks pregnant and doctor said I really need to watch my sugar and caffeine intake. But my problem is.. I'm addicted to caffeine. Its so hard for me to get away from it. I need help and I need ADVICE on how to stop.
Avatar m tn Your prior history of urinary tract stones should mean that you may need to modify your diet ( avoid calcium and oxalate rich food, too much coffee and meat).Take plenty of water and engage in daily exercises to improve circulation.
Avatar f tn I wonder if anybody else has experienced diarrhea with kidney stones? I have had upwards of 40 kidney stones in the past four years but somehow still have no answers as to why my body is producing these or how to relieve them. And i never fail to turn up new symptoms or troubles. I have been having dark urine and a lot of kidney pain lately and I'm sure I have another stone working its way out of my kidney...
Avatar f tn How unusual is it for the stones to be in this meaty part of my kidney and since they are still in my kidney aren’t they just going to continue to grow larger? Are these stones causing damage to my kidneys? They don’t seem to be causing any blockages based on the ultrasounds that have been done, but I still have had frequent flank pain and blood visible in my urine prior to the surgery. Is there any hope that I will be able to be stone free and prevent more stones?
Avatar f tn I didnt urinate until 5am the next morning and I just so happened to have something to catch it in IT was coffee colored I called the Doc and took it over, the strip said I had protein and bilirubin in my urine the pain management lady redid my UA and used that urine.
Avatar f tn I kept going to the Urologist since I had a history of kidney stones and my gall bladder was removed surgically. After a year and a half and some nerve pain I was sent to have a MRI to rule out Multiple Sclerosis. I ended up having 2 bulging disk in my thoracic/middle spine. It is extremely rare to have bulging disks in your thoracic spine, but I did have the symptoms you are having, with the exception of pain from eating/drinking certain foods.
Avatar m tn m 19 years old and I have been having intense pain in my kidney area on both sides for about 4 months, and I have been to 2 urologists. While they have diagnosed me with kidney stones and they said that I have a couple of small stones in each kidney, but they are not blocking anything so they are not the cause of my pain. I have also been to a physical therapist who said it is not musculoskeletal. I have also been having hematuria for at least 2 months.
Avatar m tn Has anyone here with kidney stones tried vitamin B6 and magnesium to prevent new stones from forming? I read a study that concluded that taking 50 mg of B6 daily with 300 mg of magnesium oxide (one of the least absorbable forms of magnesium) will prevent future kidney stones. I also read that potassium and B6 does the same. Perhaps the magnesium works because potassium is better absorbed if there is sufficient magnesium.
Avatar n tn You could ask your doc if you're a candidate for a medication such as Actigal, but it may or may not work to dissolve the stones. There is a procedure in which the stones can be 'blasted' much as they do kidney stones, but it isn't in use much since docs feels it's easier to remove the gallbladder. Passing a stone can cause a heck of a lot of problems.
Avatar m tn kidney stones can be very recurring and can start very young, although ive never heard of someone getting them in their early teens.. usually early 20s, but that doesnt mean it doesnt happen earlier. it sounds like you will have to sit in some pain until you get insurance again. you can try to seek out clinics, but theyre not very good at helping. get your insurance back and go to a dr, because if you have them so often, you might have something else going on.
