kidney-stones

Avatar n tn Other causes of blood in the urine are urolithiasis (bladder stones), kidney stones, bladder cancer, or kidney disease, bleeding disorders and others. It is best to take her the vet first thing tomorrow for a urinalysis, X-Ray of the abdomen, and complete blood work. If she has bladder stones thay would have to be surgically removed. Bladder cancer is sometimes visible on abdominal X-Ray, or ultrasound, and is of course serious.
Avatar f tn I am a 400 lbs woman. I have kidney stones that range from 3cm to 4cm and up. The one i have now is 4cm. I have stones in both of my kidneys.I also have been to 3 -4 different doctors. They all have said that I am too fat, they are unable to take care of me. The stones are calcium phosphate. What i would like to know, besides loosing weigh, how can they be destroyed? I have been watching what i eat, that has calcium in it, and i still get them? Please let me know what i can do.
Avatar m tn I heard that both juices were supposed to be good, but that orange juice was actually the better of the two. But lemonaid was what the dr. recommended. After a year on the kidney stone anti-diet, I had more kidney stones. Told the dr. I had not had any tea, chocolate, collard greens, salad, almonds, beets, etc, etc, drank a gallon of water a day along with the lemonaid. What else could I do, doc.? He said, "We really don't know what causes kidney stones to form.
Avatar n tn calcium oxalate stones, struvite stones, uric acid stones or cystine stones. Potassium citrate is used for the treatment of stones. Treatment modes include oral medicines, Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithrotripsy (ESWL), uteroscopic stone removal and percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Please discuss these treatment options with your urologist. Also take less calcium and oxalate rich foods and supplements like dairy products, colas, chocolate, peanuts, leafy vegetables, and tea. I hope it helps.
Avatar f tn I had severe pain in my right side, was constipated, and nauseas. This particular time they found kidney stones, which passed. (I had an Xray, an ultrasound, and xray with dye). In July of 2007 I had another severe attack and was hospitalized with an infection for a week. It hurt so much that I could barely talk. They found another kidney stone and I was scheduled to have it removed in September. I had several more infections/ attacks between July and Sept.
82861 tn?1333453911 If there is no infection than your dog has kidney damage or kidney failure, and you will have to treat agressively to save the kidneys by using Sub Q fluid therapy, phosphate binders if the phosphate is also elevated, kidney saving herbs such as Rehmannia 8 and more. Please write back once you have additional test results. Thanks.
Avatar m tn This is the type of thing that has driven me crazy over the years! The contradictions you can and do get from various Urologists.

280736 tn?1294198374 Last summer, I had blood in my urine and the dr sent me to have ultrasounds, c scans all normal, few small kidney stones. I started having extreme pain and it ended up being shingles awful pain. Long story short.. I keep seeing blood in my urine more and more frequently. I have no pain, could this blood in urine have anything to do with the hep C? Thank you all.
7019649 tn?1396792517 So....I love dairy products. Milk, ice cream, cheese, etc. I am sad and frustrated because I'm not allowed to eat them. I have had kidney stones for like 3 weeks, and I would prefer not to add to the pain. I just can't stand watching other people eat whatever they want :( Okay, I'm done pouting, I just had to let that out.
Avatar f tn I never had gall stones but with my first pregnancy i had kidney stones and had to have kidney surgery when i was 25weeks pregnant. That was horribly painful.
Avatar n tn I had a stone that blocked my kidney and even after blasting would not come out without being scooped out. This was in my left kidney. Kidneys were both checked out thoroughly for damage and other stones - neither of which was found. Questions are...Since it has been two months and I haven't passed any stones are they likely to just stay put? If the larger one gets stuck after I have my surgery will they be able to go in and get it out without cutting me or screwing up the TVT?
Avatar f tn I can only add 2 points. Kidney stones can develop and grow very rapidly. Stones can develop in a few weeks to a month. An ultrasound is a very poor test for kidney stones as the sound waves must hit the stone and refract back perfectly to be seen. To start, a KUB (x-ray) is the best place to start. From the multiple symptoms you are experiencing, it would be best for you to see your doctor. Could be a number of causes.
Avatar f tn Has she had a CT Scan w/o contrast in regard to the stones? What has it shown? I have an uncommon kidney condition called MSK (Medullary Sponge Kidney) along with having had out 1/2 my thryoid bcz of nodules that were atpical but my parathyroids were fine and all tests were A-OK that both my Uro and Endo have run inc. a 24hr urine test. Has your daughter had a 24hr urine test? That is important too.
Avatar m tn ve got away with it for quite a while now, last night I was woke up with the same pain I had when I had kidney stones, I sat on the toilet and waited for the pain so subside, it seems to have gone again for now, I was just wondering if I'm supposed to avoid eating foods rich in calcium, I'm also lactose intolerant and with all this I'm starting to wonder if I'm going to en up deficient in calcium, thanks for any advice
Avatar f tn I wonder if anybody else has experienced diarrhea with kidney stones? I have had upwards of 40 kidney stones in the past four years but somehow still have no answers as to why my body is producing these or how to relieve them. And i never fail to turn up new symptoms or troubles. I have been having dark urine and a lot of kidney pain lately and I'm sure I have another stone working its way out of my kidney...
Avatar f tn How unusual is it for the stones to be in this meaty part of my kidney and since they are still in my kidney aren’t they just going to continue to grow larger? Are these stones causing damage to my kidneys? They don’t seem to be causing any blockages based on the ultrasounds that have been done, but I still have had frequent flank pain and blood visible in my urine prior to the surgery. Is there any hope that I will be able to be stone free and prevent more stones?
Avatar m tn m 19 years old and I have been having intense pain in my kidney area on both sides for about 4 months, and I have been to 2 urologists. While they have diagnosed me with kidney stones and they said that I have a couple of small stones in each kidney, but they are not blocking anything so they are not the cause of my pain. I have also been to a physical therapist who said it is not musculoskeletal. I have also been having hematuria for at least 2 months.
Avatar m tn Has anyone here with kidney stones tried vitamin B6 and magnesium to prevent new stones from forming? I read a study that concluded that taking 50 mg of B6 daily with 300 mg of magnesium oxide (one of the least absorbable forms of magnesium) will prevent future kidney stones. I also read that potassium and B6 does the same. Perhaps the magnesium works because potassium is better absorbed if there is sufficient magnesium.
Avatar m tn kidney stones can be very recurring and can start very young, although ive never heard of someone getting them in their early teens.. usually early 20s, but that doesnt mean it doesnt happen earlier. it sounds like you will have to sit in some pain until you get insurance again. you can try to seek out clinics, but theyre not very good at helping. get your insurance back and go to a dr, because if you have them so often, you might have something else going on.
Avatar f tn Thx for your response I have passed one of the stones in the hospital a few days ago still have another in my right ureter and a 7mm in my right kidney and several small stones 35 wks pg now and they are going to induce me in two weeks due to the kidney stones causing contractions and wanting me to have lithotripsy after her birth. I was told I wouldn't be able to pass the 7mm stone without intervention what are my chances with that they said its in the middle of the kidney.
Avatar f tn m not a physician though and only know about kidney stones since I have suffered with them for well over 30 years and well over 30 plus stones. I hope you get the answers you are seeking and I would suggest asking a physician who would know for sure.
