Kidney infections and kidney stones are as painful as labor. With a kidney infection you would have a fever and other signs of infection. You also would be tender to the touch about half way up your back on either side of your spine. I had a kidney infection and it makes you puke and feel like you are being stabbed to death, you have a fever and feel horribly horribly sick. Kidney stones you have horrible pain that you are pretty sure you will die from.

I went to the er the first time and they gave me stuff to stop the vomiting and something for pain and they said I might have kidney stones but never found anything. The next times I just suffered through the pain which usually last about 6 to 7 hours and it is unbearable, like being in labor. I will be fine for a few months and then it will happen again. Please help.

and the day after that, i had mild discomfort and pain in my lower back. a nurse has told me that i have kidney stones, but i haven't had xrays or anything. these symptoms in my lower back have lasted for 4 days now. when i wake up in the morning, i don't notice anything at all, but by the end of the day, i'm sore in my lower back especially when seated, it doesn't bother me so much when i'm standing up or laying on my stomach.

Is it around where your kidney would be? Kidney stones and kidney infections are common in pregnancy. If you think it's in the area of the kidney, you shpuld get it checked out.

I am 7wks 4days and I am experience this too! I have lower back pain but its in my right side! Mine is caused by my kidney! I am also consider high risk too! With the prenatal vitamins it has flared up my kidney stones! I always get kidney infections when passing stones! I would have it check next time you go to the doctor! I also recommend that you drink lots and lots of water...this will flush the kidneys and may relieve that pain if that is what is causing it foe you!

Jackie -- kidney stones can cause back pain, yes, but the pain you have in your right leg could be caused by the nerve impingement at L5-S2 as reported here. You really need to consult with your doctor ASAP about these results to examine treatment options.

What could cause pain in the right groin and right middle back at the same time. It does not go away no matter what I do or take for it.

m having the same problem I have a uti better get it checked before just to see before it can turn to kidney stones.

All started with Kidney stones. Went to Physical therapy - helped loosen and strengthen back muscles, flexibility is back but didn't help the bone pain. Am getting really frustrated as is my husband. Last time it took 10 years to figure out the hyperparathryoidism - regular dr thinks it is something probably off the wall just will take time to figure it out. I can handle alot of pain - am real good at pushing it back but am at the breaking point.

Is it possible I had back spasms as a bodily response to the kidney stone? The pain I understand but having back spasms AND a kidney stone at the same time is confusing me. Wouldn't a simple urine test have revealed that I had a stone?

had the ct scan yesterday and they found nothing. No kidney stones, appendix looks ok and no ovarian cysts. I feel like I am back to square one! Went straight back to the doctors in the afternoon and she is puzzled. She said she wants to look at the ct scan/analysis herself and to see me again on Monday. She's given me some extra pain killers and told me to take the following. 8x paracetamol, 3x diclofenac, 4-8 codeine a day.

has anyone else had a problem with lower back pain? I have alful pain so much so I can't barley walk sometimes. My doctor says it most likely isn't my Adreanls because its so low but I wonder. This really makes me sick when I go through this throwing up sick and my lower back burns what can this be?

The other problem in that area that it could be is related to the kidney, so it could be a kidney infection or kidney stones. He would have other symptoms with an infection like an urgent need to urinate or frequent urges to urinate. He could also have a fever, cloudy, dark or very strong smelling urine. With kidney stones there is not always pain if they do not move and a stone can be as small as a grain of sand and can sometimes be felt like colic.

at first it was just tender and i had blood in my urine and was told it was kidney stones and had a xray but no stones found. full bloods and internal swabs all normal.I had last had an utlra sound of my uterus and kidneys when my youngest was 4months old, that was fine. gradually the pain had progressed to my lower back and right side of my back.. been to my doctors so many times. one doctor said it was my sacroiliac joint. If it gets real bad it can completely block off the kidney and make the person septic. Although back pain is common in pregnancy it is normally the entire lower back. Your description of the area sounds like kidney location.

I'm 19 years old and I have been having intense pain in my kidney area on both sides for about 4 months, and I have been to 2 urologists. While they have diagnosed me with kidney stones and they said that I have a couple of small stones in each kidney, but they are not blocking anything so they are not the cause of my pain. I have also been to a physical therapist who said it is not musculoskeletal. I have also been having hematuria for at least 2 months.

is it normal to have like almost severe back pain at 18 weeks? I got kidney stones often before I got pregnant and I'm just hoping it's from the baby and not a stone. Any advice would help, thanks!

I have stinging pains in my lower stomach, sharp sudden pains in left and right sides of my lower back area. The more active I am the pain is more prevelant and urination is more restricted. Sometimes when I'm urinating the flow suddenly stops and most of the time it will start again. Periodically my penis has what seems to be lumps or knots in it. They told be I need to be on blood pressure medicine. No one seems to have a diagnosis or solution. Can you give me some direction? Thanks.

I wake up with extreme lower back pain middle to the back to lower back after an hour of walking around I feel better I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago the only did a urine analysis that I had moderate amount of blood in my urine said had kidney stone but I don't think I do i can't go back to doctor yet anyone have a clue

I am new to this but I wanted to get on and figure out if anyone has had any symptoms like me.... I have had a pain in my right lower back since January. It started out only coming about once a month over my period...then it became more frequent. I went to the doctor and he sent me to a urologist. He said that I had kidney stones. But they were still in my kidney and they don't hurt while in the kidney. He did many cat scans, xrays, and a 24 hour urine test.

Thought Lower back pain might be connected to MS.!!! She has no insurance, and she had 1 MRI done, that was negative. I am hopeful she will join medhelp, also.!!!!!

I'm a nineteen year old girl. A few days ago, I started experiencing over-all mild, lower back pain. I have back problems, so I just got out the heating pad and didn't pay much attention. But the pain didn't go away and it's been getting worse. It had become concentrated in my lower back to the right side of my spinal cord, right over my hip. Sometimes it does hurt in the right side of my abdomen and in the middle of my back, too. I'm 99% sure it's my kidney.

I wonder if anybody else has experienced diarrhea with kidney stones? I have had upwards of 40 kidney stones in the past four years but somehow still have no answers as to why my body is producing these or how to relieve them. And i never fail to turn up new symptoms or troubles. I have been having dark urine and a lot of kidney pain lately and I'm sure I have another stone working its way out of my kidney...
