Hi, my best friend suffered from a really bad kidney infection that landed her in the hospital this past Thanksgiving. She was in ICU for 3 days with severe vomiting and high fever (103.0). She now keeps getting kidney infections over and over. Know though she recognizes the signs before it gets too bad. What should she be asking the doctor? I want to help her be more proactive in her treatment. Her doctor said that she just needs to rest and drink fluids and take meds for pain.

On Aug. 31st my dog was diagnosed with Kidney Failure. Her creatinine was at a 8. As of almost 2 weeks ago it went down to a 2. I have been giving her 6 cc's of fluid subcutaneously. As also Aluminum Hydroxide Gel, USP 5 mL after she eats. Along with PancrePlus as she basically has chronic pancreatitis since 2011 and I can only feed her either boiled chicken & rice or science diet I/D or she starts to tremble in pain.

Hello, had CT scan for abdominal pain and my GP found that a very small stone in my left kidney which is unrelated to my stomach infection. I am scared more on kidney stone and its recurring chances in future. I am ready to change my diet and habit. Should I be worried much about this kidney stone? If i take lot of fluids in future, what are the chances of kidney stone coming back in future?

He has had stones removed 4 times and is in the hospital, again.with another infection. This one involves pus in the kidney and surrounding sack. His right kidney, where all of the stones have been, is down to less than 25% output and may have to be removed. I had my first kidney stone send me to the ER in April (5mm). I don't know if it actually passed because there was no evidence, but the pain did stop after 2 weeks. Through testing in June, I know that I have 5 small stones in my left kidney and the kidney has hydroneph... can't remember the word at the moment, but it means enlarged/swollen. My uric acid (1480) and oxaclic acid levels were high. I am now on allopurinol (sp? the bottle is not with me).

Went in for a CT Scan and they found a stone in my right kidney also a cyst on left kidney lower pole. Should I be concerned. I always have the urge to go but was given antibiotics for an infection. The urge is a little better but I still have this weird sensation near bladder.

I ended up in even more pain Saturday evening and they admitted me and finally realized it was a kidney infection. I spent from Saturday night until Wednesday afternoon. I was on iv antibiotics and iv fluids the whole time. I was discharged with instructions for modified bed rest and had to take macrobid the rest of my pregnancy to avoid it reoccurring. I ended up having my son at 35 weeks.

I have looked at symptoms of kidney infection and the only part that fits is the throbbing back pain. No fever, no nausea or vomiting, chills. I am fatigued, but I haven't been sleeping well because if the throbbing pain. I have been drinking plenty of fluids, cranberry juice and lots of water. I hate to waste the money on another doctor visit if they are just going to give me a muscle relaxer for back pain.
