Avatar n tn May I suggest you do some research on the Ketogenic Diet. It is a huge lifestyle change, but is totally worth it. Ketogenic lifestyle requires that you cut out almost all carbs. You eat less than 20g of carbs a day, moderate amount of protein 50-100g/day (60-75 is ideal for most people), and 100-150g fat/day. It is a high fat diet that switches your body from using carbs for energy to using fat for energy.

But that aside, if the problem is in fact your thyroid, if it's really that off, are you on medication to fix it? To be off that much I'm assuming your doctors have found you have a disease state that is responsible for this.
Tbd Some people, including me find that a ketogenic diet (focusing on very low carb, moderate protein, and unprocessed natural fats) is helpful for blood sugar. Aside from exercise, which you are already doing, weight loss, if you are overweight can help in lowering blood sugars. Other than this, you may wish to consult with your dr in case any change in medications can also assist your progress. Hope this helps.

There are a lot of free youtube videos by both doctors Phinney and Volek who describe how to lose fat, while protecting and building physical and athletic strength. Really good stuff. So, through proper nutrition, you can lose the fat and maintain/build muscle. Hope this helps. Good luck!!

For exercise I just work out on the Wii Fitness for 1/2 an hour a day. This works really well for me.

Avatar m tn One of the most frustrating is memory loss. Memory loss can occur in most people as they age. But sometimes, memory loss can be due to circulatory problems and hormonal changes in the body. Exercise will also promote blood flow.
