I understand there are a number of hospitals which except this now as a treatment for epilespy. Maybe you could google it on line and find one close to you so you could talk to the people more about this procedure. From what I read it is important to address the problem earily in order to prevent brain damage.

I have called her pediatrician and scheduled an appointment to evaluate her, but thought I would ask here as well, because it'll be two weeks before they can see her. Thoughts, insights? Our first born, Sophie was born May 16, 2012 and perfectly healthy and a smart quick learner! :) I was monitored by a high risk Dr during my pregnancy with Sophie. Anyways, I went to my first Dr appointment last Monday and they asked if his CP was caused during birth or if it runs in the family! I honestly don't know if it does! One of his sisters kids has CP and hers is like my husbands mild.

I am not sure what you mean by “reflex retention”. Cerebral palsy will result in increased reflexes. Was there an injury around the time of your child’s birth? You mention that your contractions stopped, but how were your baby’s decelarations during the delivery and post-delivery oxygenation? Did your child need neonatal ICU care?

I have mild cerebral palsy and osterporosois in my knees so I'm used to normal irritations being a part of playing sports; however, this pain runs down from the left lower back to right under my butt. And no matter how I move my left leg or put weight on it, it causes pressure on my lower back. Sometimes I can barely walk on it but other days it doesn't effect me at all.

The doctors say my wife's antiphopholipid syndrome caused the antibodies to go to the baby in the womb and caused the CP. Can this happne, and if so is there any articles on the subject.
Avatar n tn My sister suffers from severe cerebral palsy (28 years old): she needs our help in performing all the routine activities (eating, getting dressed, etc) She developed some dental problems ( the first two molars of the upper left side of the mouth have caries). In order to treat them, the dentist told us that she will be anaesthetised (general anaesthesia). From what I've read, seizures are common among people with cerebral palsy. Despite this fact, my sister has never had a seizure.

Dr's think he was like that for a long time in utero because of his color. He's being evald for Cerebral Palsy and Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease (or Peroneal Muscular Atrophy), would these things be connected to the disk degeneration also?

She has been getting all kinds of tests done and having blood taken and they can't find out what's wrong with her. Is this happening because of her diagnosis? Why can't they give her any answers? I am taking Lamitor DT and Gardinal in mild dosage. When I was 33 I had foot numbness and imbalance, shaking of hands, loss of speech and Muscle Spasms.
Avatar n tn May I suggest you do some research on the Ketogenic Diet. It is a huge lifestyle change, but is totally worth it. Ketogenic lifestyle requires that you cut out almost all carbs. You eat less than 20g of carbs a day, moderate amount of protein 50-100g/day (60-75 is ideal for most people), and 100-150g fat/day. It is a high fat diet that switches your body from using carbs for energy to using fat for energy.
