Common Questions and Answers about Keppra and ibuprofen

keppra

Hi, I have tried switching to keppra but had bad anxiety and depression. Was given topamax but don't dare to try because of its side effects that include paresthesia and weight lost. I m already very skinny all the while and having severe left body paresthesia.
is it okay to use ibuprofen for a child of 5 years (he has got severe headache and very high body temperature) who is on tegretol and keppra medication?
I was prescribed Topamax along with an appetite suppressant (Adipex) for weight loss a bit over a year ago and stopped taking them after two and a half months. I did not lose all of the weight I had wanted to, but most of it. I had gained 55 pounds while on Paxil over the course of two and a half years. By taking a combination of the two medicines, I lost 22 pounds the first month, 10 pounds the second month, and 8 pounds the first half of the third month.

I have had 2 black stools. I have also had abdominal pain. For about 3-4 days I took Ibuprofen for pain relief after temporary crowns were put on 2 teeth. I am Epileptic & take Lamictal & Keppra. Also, I have been very "gassy" feeling & constipated. Once I have a bowel movement the feeling goes away. Should I see a doctor? How soon & what type? I don't have a primary care physician per se. I am leaving town tomorrow.
So, I take Soma, 2 250's twice a day for muscle stiffness and Klonopin and Keppra for epilepsy, then I have an opiate pain killer, normally. Opiates appear to be the only thing that lower the pain, other pain kilers do nothing, and been in the hospital for tylenol overdosing, luckily i recovered fast, but i an knock down 40 Ibuprofen with no affect, yet pure codeine (I had a script one for just codeine sulfate, no painkiller) worked perfect.

Arms and legs that won't do what I want them to and intermittent word blindness. And more! I am on, Tylex, Amitriptyline, Tegratol, Ibuprofen and Verapamil. Tegratol is my life safer! I am slowly going insane with all my symptons, but HEY who wants to be normal!
Your doctor will most likely check a pregnancy test and other hormones like thyroid test and blood count to check for anemia. Your doctor may recommend an endometrial biopsy and an ultrasound. Your doctor will need to get your history and determine what tests would be most appropriate for you, since they know your history better. I wish you wellness.
Until she is able to swallow pills, treatment options are somewhat limited. Keppra and Neurontin both come in liquid forms and taste decent. Valium, or diazepam, is similar to Frisium also comes in a liquid form, but patients can develop a tolerance and dependence to that class of drug. The class also can cause significant drowsiness, so I would try to keep those in reserve. I don't think the doctor was trying to be alarmist.
He gave me Topomax and Keppra for epilepsy and some medicine for the pain. When I got back to USA I went to the clinic for my MRI results. The Dr. told me my results came back normal. He told me to not take any more of the medicine I was given in Mexico because I do not have epilepsy. He said this medicine was not necessary and it could ruin my digestive system. He sent me to have a urine test and I had a minor infection. He gave me pills for that. He also gave me floxentine pills.

Other meds that have been used successfully for many patients include Lyrica (pregabalin - a very specific calcium channel blocker that is very good at reducing the hypersensitivity that usually accompanies neuralgia), Neurontin (gabapentin - effective at fairly high doses [over 3000 mg/day], whose mechanism of action is not well known), Keppra (levetiracetam - a powerful neurotransmitter antagonist), and Cymbalta (duloxetine - a selective reuptake inhibitor for both serotonin and norepinepher

Also, I started taking headache meds with ibuprofen and caffeine in it. Made in japan. I take one pill a day. Sometimes two. It is supposed to reduce swelling, inflammation, alleviate pain, etc and the caffeine in it helps keep you warm in winter. Also, I'd suggest eating broccoli daily. It is a question of will, coz many people don't like broccoli. By the way, have you ever tried Keppra? If you get a chance, you may wanna give it a shot.
It can be a bumpy ride!
I take Elavil 30 mg at night and that helped with my arm pain but i still get headaches that make me so sick i throw up and have to stay in bed. To keep them at bay i take ibuprofen and lortab. My doc rx'd Topamax but i'm not going to take it, too scared. I think I'm going to try diamox as recommended by tci but may have a contraindication to that too, i'm looking into it. Good luck to you and don't be afraid to take something as needed if you need it.
I have always gotten headaches when fronts come through, but I was able to take ibuprofen and get rid of them. This was the first headache that was unrelievable with medication. I am joining this community and will keep y'all posted if the topamax works. I am fairly sensitive to medicine and often can't take things, so I am nervous that I will be shopping around for something that works. I am anxious to see what works for everyone else, so please keep posting with results - good or bad.

I am over weight.I am tired more than normal, but i did sleep alot due to migrains.I do have more side effects and stuff, but I wont over load you all at once.I know this sounds like alot, but it has gotten better as time goes on. I have started to level off and become more normal.
I get these unexplained chills all the time, where im freezing cold with goose bumps all over my body. They hurt and I can barely walk they are so bad sometimes. I check my temp when I get these episodes and its perfectly normal. I do not have a infection or am not sick. Im not even in a cold environment. Everyone around me is not cold. Its the weirdest thing, and I cant find a answer for it. Its like my body is messed up and sending these chills for no reason. Please help.
I was dripping with sweat and my heart was racing and felt like it wasn't beating right. I took some claritin and ibuprofen and tried to sleep. The next morning my hands and feet were still swollen. At lunch my resting heart rate was 138. Ever since then, I've just been so sick. My eyes feel hot, like I have a fever, and the tips of my fingers swell and turn red.
So, what dose did everyone here have their success? And what type of diet/eating plan and exercise plan did you do to help it along? I'm desperate to lose 40 lbs (half of which I gained on Zoloft-no longer taking). PLEASE respond if you had any weightloss on this drug, I'm very curious. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
Now here I sit, nearly a full week late, and I break down to buy one of those HPT's and the thing comes out negative. I keep feeling like I'm going to get my period and nothing...day after day. I'll post again with the blood test results, because I'm going in for one tomorrow. Obviously from the other posts, it can be possible to test negative on an HPT but then positive with a blood test (that's what I'm secretly hoping).
