659608 tn?1318289366 It is however more than possible that you could have an infection in your jaw, say, from an impacted or infected wisdom tooth. Tooth pain can often make the ear and neck hurt as well (just as an ear infection can make the teeth hurt...). There is also the possibility that there is nothing wrong with you dentally either and you are suffering from neuralgic pain.
Avatar f tn I assumed I had an abscess but an xray revealed the sinus in my lower jaw was blocked due to infection. It is painful and theres a dull ache all the time.
Avatar m tn It feels like the pain you would have with a severe sinus infection along with all of my upper teeth constantly hurting, and the feeling of a deep ear ache. I am looking for anybody that has these same symtons and would like to know what you do for controlling the pain. I have tried several medications and none seem to help. I take pain pills regularly just because they are the lesser of the two evils but would love to find an alternative as the pain poills make me sick constantly.
Avatar f tn Hi, combination of your ear pain and the jaw pain could be due to sinus congestion. There are many cases where individuals that suffering from sinus congestion also experience pressure in the ear, with earaches and even jaw pain. The earaches you are having may be an infection in the ear due to blocked sinuses. Other causes of aw pain can be due to infection of salivary gland like parotitis, infected foci, osteoporosis related jaw disarticulation or fracture.
Avatar f tn Have the Sam e thing.Got a sinus infection that infected my eye and caused upper jaw pain. And some in my ear.
Avatar n tn Since October, I have had inner ear pain, neck and jaw pain, and sometimes shoulders and facial pain as well. I also get headaches and sore spots on my head at times.
Avatar n tn They said it could be a sinus infection. I can believe the pain can possibly be that bad. It left. Now I have exactly the same thing on the other side of my mouth. It is in the lower jaw/ bone/tooth. They said it normally is in the upper teeth. Has anyone got any answers? I am 200 mile from a Dr This discussion is related to extreme tooth/jaw pain.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had a sinus infection while pregnant? If so, were you able to take anything? Im 11 weeks pregnant and beginning to feel miserable.
Avatar n tn THERE WAS SOME INFECTION, SO I WAS GIVEN AN ANTIBIOTIC, AND WAS PAIN FREE FOR ABOUT A WEEK - WITH THE HELP OF A MILDER PAIN MEDICATION. I WENT BACK AFTER 2 WEEKS FOR A FOLLOW-UP AND THE RESULTS FROM THE BIOPSY OF THAT AREA. IT REVEALED I HAD A BONE INFECTION IN MY JAW BONE. I WAS SENT TO AN INFECTIOUS DISEASE DOCTOR WHO PRESCRIBED IV THERAPY (AT HOME) FOR 6 WEEKS. I DID THIS EXACTLY AS I WAS TOLD. I WAS JUST ABOUT PAIN FREE FOR ABOUT 1 1/2 MONTHS. AT THE END OF APRIL, THE PAIN RETURNED.
Avatar f tn I had a severe sinus infection on one side of my face, which was fixed in sinus surgery. However, I also had severe swellin on the right side of my face which was still evident after the sinus surgery. As follow up work, I asked the doctor to look at any gland damage that may be a result of my previous jaw surgery, which may be causing the additional swelling in my cheek.
Avatar f tn Last Tuesday i had tooth # 2 removed ( Upper ) and next day i came down with a major Migraine and few days later my body started to hurt and nose got congested , i went to the Dr. who said this was a sinus infection. I searched online and did not find anything suggesting a sinus infection can be caused by a tooth extraction. I read Sinus Infection on Mayo Clinic 's website and it describe more serious immune system problems can cause it , now i am really freaking out.
Avatar f tn I am a 37 mother with no prior history of sinus infection. I had what I thought was an evil flu or Lyme disease--body aches with an other-worldly headache that caused pain in my jaw. No fever or stuffy nose, but mucus dripping down the back of my throat. Whenever I bent over and my head was upside down I saw stars--my first clue that I had a sinus infection of some kind.
Avatar n tn A related discussion, chronic sinus pain and lower jaw pain was started.
Avatar f tn This sounds like the pain from a severe sinus infection as well. A sinus infection can be VERY painful, and the areas you are describing are all part of the sinus tract. I would see and ENT as soon as possible.
Avatar f tn My symptoms began about 2 years ago with back to back sinus infections. I consulted an ENT who spent less than 20 minutes w/ me & suggested a CT scan which showed minimal mucus lining in my maxillary sinus cavities. At that time I couldn't be assured it would help & ultimately decided not to go through with the procedure. A month or so later I had severe pain in my left cheek/jaw & then my gum began to swell substantially.
Avatar f tn Could i have a sinus infection with no pressure no previous head cold but i just have a constant toothache on my right upper jaw. i had a cat scan done said chronic mucoperiosteal thickening in the right maxilary sinus with a small amount of fluid. I see an ENT tommorrow but i want relief from this tooth ache very soon. should i go to him or another endodontist?
1625948 tn?1299510189 your jaw could also be broken without you realising it. to relive the pain take paracetomol with codine three times a day and take a relaxing bath. hope you feel better soon. can you tell me what happened. thanks.
Avatar m tn I have had a nagging pain in the back of my mouth for almost 3 months now. The pain is located in the hard palate area above my molars on the right side. Dental X-rays have revealed that nothing is wrong. My wisdom teeth are still intact, but 3 dentists and 2 oral surgeons have assured me that they do not need to come out and would not be causing the pain. The pain is like a sharp pressure in that area of my mouth. Almost feels like a sinus infection in that palate/gum region.
Avatar n tn How do I know if this is a sinus infection - which I am prone to getting - or possibly a tooth abcess (the pain is mostly centered over one of the molars)? It does not hurt any more when I bite down. What does increase the pain is if I lay down on my left side any amount of time, whether it be to rest or sleep. Help???
Avatar f tn It could be a sinus infection, migraine, or even TMJ. My guess would be a sinus infection. TMJ might be the easiest to experiment with first under your conditions, and it wouldn't hurt anything. See if a chiro can adjust your jaw. I was amazed at how quickly my headache, neck and shoulder pain went away after one adjustment - less than 10 minutes. I am very serious. I only recommend chiros for musculo-skeletal isssues.
1023501 tn?1254833158 ll be able to take a lot more. I had a lot of sinus pain (my entire left jaw hurt) and I was afraid of developing a sinus infection, and a pharmacist told me that I could take over the counter sinus meds - I bought a generic version of Tylenol Sinus. Hope this helps....and that you feel better soon!
Avatar m tn Seemed to think problem was other than tooth-- possible ear infection or sinus infection. He gave me two perscriptions. I then went to see my primary care Dr. who examined upper respiratory system. He seems to think I have a sinus infection but said it could also be start of shingles. He converted my dentist's perscriptions to vicodin, azithromycin, & MucinexD. Still much pain 12 hrs. later. Hope this stuff works. Your comments?
