977806 tn?1249067346 Took 2nd shot this past Wednesday. Have actually had jaw pain off and on but really thought it was a dental problem but am thinking more along the lines of Sx now because it is in both jaws. I emailed my doctor earlier today. Has anyone else had jaw pain. Both jaws have been effected and right now it is throbbing a bit. I emailed to ask my doctor if I should go and see a dentist anyway even though it may be due to the drugs.
Avatar f tn Maybe your grinding your teeth when sleeping? My mom would complain about her jaw hurting/sore frequently, then I caught her grinding her teeth while napping...
Avatar m tn I have a strange sensation along my jaw it is like a strong pulse and dull pain. It moves around, along the top of the jaw, underneath the jaw. Comes and goes. I had this about 6 years ago for a few weeks, then it went away, it came back about a month ago, once again lasted a week then left. Both these times I was under stress/anxiety and I put it down to that. This time, it has come back again, but I am not stressed or worried, So I have no idea what it is.

Avatar m tn i have pain in the nerves right above my jaw at the temple. its more so on the right side than the left side. i have pressure in the right side of the head, and numbness on the left side. This lasts all day long. Any idea as to what it might be? Could it be TMJ? Thaks.
Avatar n tn I had my wisdom teeth (all of them, and they all were impacted) removed in March. Since then, I have experienced the same kind of jaw pain I had before the surgery. It's almost as if the teeth were never removed. It's not a consistent pain, but it comes and goes for at least a few days out of every week. It's mostly just annoying, but it can get pretty severe and it is often accompanied by earaches and headaches.
Avatar n tn However, we recently found out that when he was 16, (he is now 24) his jaw was broken and set wrong. He should have been in extreme pain, but all he said to us at the time was that he was his a fight and his lip was busted. He apparently took a brick to the face. Now his jaw repaired itself wrong and he may require major surgery. Is there a condition, which causes a person to have a high pain tolerance? What do we do?
Avatar n tn I have noticed the pain go to as far as my jaw. I though it maybe something to do with my jaw because my jaw is set far back anyway (i have problems with my teeth) but I am getting no pain in my jaw. I have no vision problems. I was tested 2 months ago because doctor noticed I had large optic disks but the eye doctor said I was fine and it was physiologic disk cupping, meaning i was born with it and its not harmful.
Avatar m tn - Jaw Ache I am not sure if this has been caused by all the medication I have been on, but I have recently developed really bad jaw ache for the past 6 months, this results in my jaw snapping shut when I am sleeping, and ache throughout the day. I anyone knows when this could be, or have any ideas or questions, please please please let me know!!!!!
Avatar n tn Over the course of a few weeks the pain started to subside and my jaw began to relax... Heat packs on my jaw to soothe the pain... He also suggested certain exercises to strengthen my neck and back muscles because they were weak from all the tension... I also did acupuncture... It also helped to calm and relax my muscles... Good luck!
Avatar f tn t afford that, being a student, so I settled for taking an Aleve whenever the pain gets worse. Now there seems to be a nodule in the hollow of my jaw, just below the TMJ (again, left side only)/ I have pointed this bump out to clinic doctors, and no one gives it any credibility. It's causing pain, and I wonder if it's something to worry about.
Avatar n tn Hi,i m 17 ears old and i've been getting pain behind my ears since my childhood. In my childhood it was more adverse as i use to get feverish. Now i don't get feverish but the pain behind my ear( lower part of ear which is softer)and it really hurts ,even sometimes i can feel pain while i talking or eating and even when i m sleeping on that ear's side.At often the pain shoot up high for a second and it becomes unbearable.
Avatar f tn We decided to stay off steroids but taking prescription NSAIDS to keep the wrist/jaw/hip pain manageable enough to get some sleep at night. Pain worsens through the day and is worst around 3 AM. Swelling and pain are best around 10AM. Mid back gets really stiff and somewhat painful while sleeping as well. Some days when the jaw flares I can feel a big goosegg there too, in front of my ear. I think the next step is either an orthopod for the wrist, and dentist for the jaw....
Avatar f tn I also woke up one morning with jaw pain, ear ache, pain along side of and above ear, etc. Couldn't open mouth wide or eat without pain. After a couple of months of suffering (I'm a glutton for punishment) I finally went to the dentist. I have an internal derangment of the temporal/mandibular disc. It has shifted out of place, putting stress on the jaw muscles, and the trigeminal nerves. Most probably caused by my degenerative osteoarthritis.
Avatar n tn My jaw started popping periodically, especially when chewing gum, about a year or so ago. There was never any pain, just annoying. I also started having headaches pretty bad. Then, I started to notice that I would get "flare ups" where it would pop alot and ache in my face and jaw. Several months ago I started having these headaches while I would sleep. I would go to bed and after sleeping about 5 hours, I would wake up with a horrific headache ALL OVER my head.
Avatar f tn m not sure what it was called but they pulled my chin out and also removed bone from my upper jaw. I have felt pain on and off the entire time since but this weekend I got to where I could hardly open my mouth to eat without having a lot of pain. I know I need to go to the doctor but I do not have the money to go. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas to ease some of the pain.
Avatar f tn I was told my facial /jaw pain may be TMJ, but my dentist checked it out and said it was not....since I had surgery I do not have the pain like I did b4...the ears and jaw pain is a chiari thing...and may resemble TMJ, but I really do not believe that it is otherwise the bite gaurd would help.
Avatar f tn It felt like I could hear my own heartbeat through it, but was really loud. A sharp pain would also go through my jaw and it felt like someone was pinching the inside of my ear. The doctors told me to get Tylenol 1 for it but that didn't work either, I'm only 15 years old does anyone know how to help me?
Avatar f tn Also have noticed that when I yawn it will trigger the pain (at any point of the day). Not when I open my mouth big though....only when I actually yawn. But sleeping or laying my head down is what really causes these pains, when I have been lying my head and neck down in the same position for periods of time. But after I wake up and walk around it usually goes away after an hour or so. This is going on the 23rd straight day of this.
12912879 tn?1427855072 I had the worst toothache on my left side which became jaw pain on the left side. After taking antibiotics the tooth and jaw pain slowly slightly faded with just a small toothache 1 or 2 times per week. However the eye and head pain and waking up with headaches and the horrible constant pain on my left side started maybe a few weeks after ky toothache went away. So its probably unrelated but just throwing that out there. Please help me.
Avatar f tn Aside from the usual post op pain, swelling etc the healing process seemed finished within 2 weeks. However jaw stiffness and some pain persisted in my lower left jaw. I put this down to the tooth in this area being impacted. 3 months after the surgery I could still barely open my mouth wide enough to yawn without it feeling incredibly stiff and sore and so returned to the surgeon. He said I had sprained the jaw muscles and precribed a month of anti-inflammatory medication.
1809287 tn?1316744936 afterwards, i felt somewhat okay, but about two to three days after i started to feel this uncomfortable pain in my lower jaw bone. the pain is felt in my jaw, my throat, my temple, my neck and my ear. i am having constant headaches. the painkillers do help to ease the pain and discomfort throughout the day, but at night it becomes intolerable and extremely uncomfortable, making sleeping quite the chore. i have been in pain for a few days now, and am worried as to what it may be.
Avatar m tn TMJ disorders — a type of temporomandibular disorder or TMD — can cause pain in your jaw joint and in the muscles that control jaw movement and this can radiate to parts of your head. If it continues, then maybe a trip to your dentist might be of some help.
