i am 27 years old and have developed sinus over the years, with the change of seasons i sometimes experience discomfort in my face like the nose area and eye area when the wind blows my eyes get teary and i seem to cough, and about a few months ago i went to a doctor and he explained that there is swelling in my jaw appearently i have some sort of an overbite which is causing some skewness in my mouth, he gave my muscle relaxers to ease the pain, but the sinus pain aswell as the jaw
It sounds like maybe your jaw is a little out of alignment ,you should go back to the dentist and have him check that and check for "dry socket "try to keep food away from the extraction site.
Hi and thank you in advance for this incredible service. A few years ago several of my molars in my bottom teeth fell out or crumbled out. These were teeth that had had some work, some with unfinished work too, some root canals that didn't end up getting crown-finishes. The gum/cheek swelled up on the left side then went away. Then the right side swelled up and a tooth's remaining root there was hurting pretty badly, and it kept getting worse, very painful.

A lot of cutting was done on my face and neck. Now at the age of 50 I am experiencing severe jaw pain in that jaw, neck pain on that same side, tongue cramping and severe tongue pain. I cannot turn my head to the left and the pain is excruciating. I know I have a lot of nerve damage on that left side where the ijury occured. But everyone I have seen, from oral surgoens to dentists to doctors' are stumped at what is causing this and no one will treat me.
I have tmj dysfunction (the jaw) and I have no apparent swelling, but do have pain behind the jaw and under the earlobes. I cannot feel the gland anywhere in front of the ears, but do feel what seems to be tissue behind the jaw. Is the swelling common? Is it obvious? I was tested by home access a year and half ago - negative - with no exposure since.
Seeing an oral surgeon is advised.

For the past week now I have been having some pain in my jaw. The pain wasn't too bad and I took some motrin and it would go away. Last night the pain was almost unbareable. And it got worse everytime I would lay down. Nothing was helping not even the motrin. The pain seems to start near my ear all the way to the front of my teeth on the lower left side. What can this be? There is no swelling just agonizing pain.
I am sorry to hear you are in so much pain and don't have insurance to get things fixed. Unfortunately jaw joint problems are expensive. Grinding your teeth at night is a big problem because it wears down the joints. For about $300 (dentist) - $600 (orthodontist) you can get a bite splint (retainer) made. It covers your teeth so it prevents damage to the teeth themselves. But it also keeps the jaw joints slighly open at night so you aren't doing as much damage to the jaw joints.
We decided to stay off steroids but taking prescription NSAIDS to keep the wrist/jaw/hip pain manageable enough to get some sleep at night. Pain worsens through the day and is worst around 3 AM. Swelling and pain are best around 10AM. Mid back gets really stiff and somewhat painful while sleeping as well. Some days when the jaw flares I can feel a big goosegg there too, in front of my ear.
I think the next step is either an orthopod for the wrist, and dentist for the jaw....
I had pain for about 1 and a half weeks. Then all my pain went away and i slowy used my jaw more, and started doing my regular day to day activities. Then suddenly about 4 weeks after the surgery i have had extreme pain on my lower right side of my jaw. It just started back up, out of no where. I didnt hit it, or accidentaly chew something hard. Also when i was recovering after the surgery my lower right side took the longest to recover. I have heard about a condition called TMJ.
over the next month, sore went away, jaw went down, but had allover hot feeling and muscle pain, this went away after 2 weeks and then the jaw swelled up again! seems to get better, then worse, etc. dr thinks some kind of virus....i think it was caused by the cleaning, as i didn't have anything until after that....could that have been it,? thanks!
My neck feels achy and slightly stiff, I get a sharp pain that shoots through my ear when I swallow food and drink. I do have some slight swelling on my jaw. The pain is constant with no relief. I just moved and are without insurance right now. Just wondering if this is something I can wait out or if I should be seen for it and also would like some idea of what this is?
Is severe pain in R corotid atery and R jaw bone time to contact an anbulance. Also stabbing pain in R side of back.
I have heart disease. emphasema. I fall asleep for hours after a slight chore,fatigue is frequent and angina becoming more frequent. Had heart attack 2004.thank you.A lot of pains in legs, occasional swelling.
