Avatar m tn Basically, the drill ,is to stop walking and call 911. No if's but's or maybe's. Jaw pain and pain down the left arm and shortness of breath is indeed a hallmark of cardiac ischemia, but not always. You are grossly overweight, and that issue should be addressed. The term "heart attack" is meaningless. In any event changes in the EKG are transient and you must be evaluated while you have the pain or shortly thereafter.
659608 tn?1318289366 The only other possibility that springs to my mind is that it could be related to a sinus infection since that can also present as jaw pain, and often feels worse when you lean forward. Either way, get yourself to a doctor, and if he/she doesnt find anything, go see your dentist. Its always better to be safe than sorry.

Avatar n tn I have been having sharp pains in the middle of my chest. The pain goed up into my jaw and ear. What can this be? I have high blood pressure.
Avatar n tn The episodes you have experienced could be heart related. It is difficult to associate the type of pain one feels and location that would absolutely indicate angina (pain due to inadequate blood supply to heart cells). Sometimes there are no symptoms, but the pain you have stated could be heart related. You should have an evaluation of your cardivascular system to rule out any serious heart problem.

Avatar m tn You should get it checked out, I doubt if it's cardiac in nature as pain related to your heart don't usually persist over many days or weeks, but better to be safe. Ask your doctor about costochondritis, it is an inflammation of the joints where your ribs meet your sternum and can cause the symptoms you describe. It can come on with a virus or injury or just by laying or bending the wrong way. It's worth mentioning, but do get checked out to be safe.

1547952 tn?1293907781 The symptoms you describe are what I felt leading up to another heart attack. Throat discomfort is always my first symptom and my warning. I remember my first time feeling this symptom, everyone kept telling me it was to do with heartburn. I was 46 years old, and was pretty sure I knew what heartburn felt like. This was totally different, it was a horrible sensation, nothing like a burning. Another clue as to whether or not this is angina, is when it occurs.

Avatar n tn The chest/back pain has mostly disappeared. However, the jaw pain and headaches are causing anxiety. I went to my dentist and he said I needed to get my wisdom teeth out. Perhaps this is the cause of the jaw pain... I tend to be a worrier, and believe this may be anxiety. But I'm just not sure. Should I go back to see my doctor and tell her about my jaw/head ache symptoms? Please let me know what you think.

Unfortunately couple days ago, only 10-15 minutes after start in my body combat class, like a heart attack, I fainted, heart pain and severe jaw pain but I didn't collapse. I took a break nearly 30 minutes my heart was getting better and less jaw pain. Actually it was happened to me several times during the tennis course. So I did CT scan test.
Avatar m tn Do you wear a splint for the clinching? If not, you can grind your teeth down so you might have to get your dentist to make one. I have tmj and had to pay an orthodontist $2,300 but it was worth it because within 6 months the jaw pain went away. He said a dentist doesn't know how to make upper jaw splints and guaranteed an upper would work and for 6 years he has been correct. I threw my dentist's splint away, and stopped asking him any tmj questions.

Avatar n tn So after dealing with a dentist induced TMJ and tooth pain for 2 months I visited the emergency room. Since Jaw pain is part of the TMJ and also may indicate a heart attack is brewing I wanted to play it safe. ER Doc. Said he believed it's all dental related until my blood work came with showing Troponin at .26 so I was admitted... X-ray, ekg, echo, CT Scan, BP, heart rate and blood work was all normal... after 4 days in Cardiologist basically told me he has nothing and discharged me.
