Has anyone else had just one sided face pain with sinuses? My right side of my face ,right eye,jaw cheek ear and neck are driving me crazy........ENT says i need surgery.Im so scared.Im also going off some anxniety meds and wondering if thats casuing it.........
I have recurring pain in my jaws, mainly the left side. I have been having it in the day and at night. It starts right at my ear, and extends down toward windpipe.Lately it is little sharp pains lasting just a few seconds, but really bothersome. I have been reading that women may have that kind of symptom before a heart attack. I had Rheumatic fever as a young child, and have never been told I had any heart damage.
I'll wake up one day and have my jaw joint hurting (especially when I open my mouth) and not much pain in my cheeks, and then the next day I won't have much pain in my jaw joint but a lot of pain in my cheeks. I've also had a lot of sensitivity to light, occasional feelings of pressure in my forehead, a little bit of soreness and popping in my ears, and occasional mild fevers (e.g. 99.2 or 99.3 degrees) with associated headache.
But then after a few months I had extremely severe pain form between the tooth and my maxillary sinus on that side, and then pain back to my jaw, and below my jaw down my neck with swollen lymph nodes. Plus when I bite down that tooth and only that tooth hurts. Well, the dentist took new bite wing X-rays and didn't see an abscess or anything and gave me Amoxil which completely elminated the severe pain in 5 days...
I have a similar problem which is caused by a sinus infection in my maxillary sinus -- It is caused by an infection from a root canal -- it caused a communication from my mouth into my sinuses -- causing the infection. you need to take care of the tooth (filling/extraction/root canal) & then treat the sinus infection (anti-biotics) -- you should see a dentist about the tooth with the deep cavity to make sure you do not have an abcess.
I'd say because of the tooth pain too it's a sinus infection. you could try saline to help rinse out your nasal passages or go to your doctor. They might give you a Z-pack or some other antibiotic if they suspect bacterial infection.
Back in November I contracted what I thought was a cold, but turned into a severe sinus infection. Then, due to the circumstances, I also ended up with acute asthmatic bronchitis. However, the first visit to a doctor prompted him to believe I had strep throat. I was prescribed Amoxicillin, but I was unable to finish the dosage due to severe upset stomach seemingly caused by the drug. And, I was showing no signs of improvement.
I have had jaw pain for many days, only on one side, now i have ear and throat pain on the same side, and my jaw hurts so bad, like I had been punched (or so I assume) really har din the jaw. It hurts to eat, and I have pain in my ear and a sore throat.....can anyone give me advise? Bad sinuses? Time to go the Dr?
How do I know if this is a sinus infection - which I am prone to getting - or possibly a tooth abcess (the pain is mostly centered over one of the molars)? It does not hurt any more when I bite down. What does increase the pain is if I lay down on my left side any amount of time, whether it be to rest or sleep. Help???
No it is sun and the pain is only bad if I push directly don on that tooth--HOWEVER---my entire jaw hurts on that side now, I have pressure in my sinus on that side and i think I feel a bit of a lump (which is sensitive to pressure) on the bottom of my jaw directly under that tooth. I will go back in the morning but to get a second opinion will take a few days and a couple hundred mile round trip. Any thoughts? I am tired of the pain and even more tired of the pain medicine.
After x- rays, probing, and visual inspection, the dentist made an occusal adjustment to a tooth (second from rear, bottom right side). one day later, the pain still persists. Also have sensitive scalp on right side and intermittent earache. What could be causing this?
it could be something not as sinister, in a heart attack there is chest pain, lower jaw pain, dizziness, pain radiating down the armmainly left side, sometimes with heart disease there is a mucasey cough that lasts for months, are you healthy? have you checked your cholesterol? and bp?
HI, i had a bad headache on one side and the next day it started again and my throat (not the inside) started hurting to the touch i took a nap and when i woke up i had teeth pain on one side of my mouth could'nt tell where the pain in my mouth was coming from it felt as if i had just had a tooth pulled can this be sinus
The lumps on my neck are two inches beneath my jaw and one inch from my collar bone on the right side, so I'm assuming cervical and supraclavicular lymph nodes respectively (as I gather from a nifty chart I found). Neither produce constant pain/burning/irritation, the cervical is only a little sore to the touch and pea-sized, while the lower one offers no pain and is even smaller. I've only had them for three days now, so they seem to sync right up with my sinus problems.
I have have a bad sinus infection for weeks and now I have yellow stuff drianing out of my ears. I got tiered of the infections. So went to an old rementy giger honey tea with a 1/2 of a cup of wisky added to the tea. with cooking one teaspoon of ginger in with the tea bags. Now after being on that for only two days so far the swolling of my sinuses has gone down so much that I can findly see my check bones. It is also drying out my sinuses.
) Anyways, as the nights went on, I eventually started noticing some slight dizzyness/lightheadedness along with my sinuses killing me, so I naturally thought sinus infection. I only had a couple days left so I just took some Tylenol Cold and sinus and sucked it up. I got back last thrusday and had made a doctors appt because of the sinus problems for last friday. When I got home last thrusday night my head felt like it was going to explode and I had a lot of lightheadedness.
sternocleidomastoid muscle in the neck which can cause facial pressure/pain - Dr. said not my problem, wouldn't be on one side of my head/neck, would be more like stress. 2. bacteria serratia - Dr. said you very seldom would see that, and people would be hospitalized they'd be so bad before it was found. 3. fungal or yeast - he said no. 4.
It is centered in the upper soft palate, and radiates down the back of my throat, along my jaw line, and on bad occasions, up into my temple on one side. It usually only happens once a week, and the pain level varies. The pain on one occasion was so bad that I thought it had to be a stroke, but then the pain stopped and I had massive relief. Do you have any idea what could cause this?
What are the symptoms of sinusitis? The location of your sinus pain depends on which sinus is affected. Headache when you wake up in the morning is typical of a sinus problem. Pain when your forehead over the frontal sinuses is touched may indicate that your frontal sinuses are inflammed. infection in the maxillary sinuses can cause your upper jaw and teeth to ache and your cheeks to become tender to the touch.
In the past month, I have developed pain in my jaw on one side. I have also had pain in my ear on the same side. (I am currently out of the U.S. for several months and am having to rely on local medical/dental resources where I am not a regular patient.) I first saw a dentist who told me that my "bite" was not right and he adjusted an inlay in one of my molars to correct it. This has not really helped me. I also went to see a doctor who said that my ear was inflamed.
I had a severe sinus infection on one side of my face, which was fixed in sinus surgery. However, I also had severe swellin on the right side of my face which was still evident after the sinus surgery. As follow up work, I asked the doctor to look at any gland damage that may be a result of my previous jaw surgery, which may be causing the additional swelling in my cheek.
I developed an infection that started in my gum and went up into my sinus cavity. The whole side of my face was swollen and I was in extreme pain. They put me on Amoxicillin and then tried another RX, I can't remember the name of it, but the pain continued. I ended up going to see an oral surgeon who put me on Augmentin, it took the infection away but needless to say I lost 2 other teeth and have bone spurs in my gums now that are causing me problems. This has been a 9 month ordeal.
During that time, the infection moved from the upper jaw/ear area over to the right front of my face - I felt pain when I touched the right side of my nose, my cheekbone, and my upper right gums. (I fist noticed it when washing my face.) After the first course of amoxy ended, I waited a week and the pain was still there, so I phoned the Dentist's office and got a 2nd 10-day course. The RCT was done halfway through the second course.
it was low before, now it is up ,normal but my doc things , for me, might indicate bacterial infection. I feel dizzy, weak, slightly stopped up on one side of my nose, comes and goes.. and it hurts , now, to touch right between my eyes on the bridge of my nose. My ear, jaw, cheek on the left side stll ache.. no signs of any dental problem. I am missing work and depressed about feeling so horrible. I just want to believe this is a sinus thing and it will go away!!! I 'm runing a slight fever..
About a year or so ago.... I had a sinus infection, which affected one side of my teeth....I wasn't sure which was which either, so I went to my doctor, & he actually prescribed me antibiotics for my sinus infection & also antibiotics for my tooth - just incase. I was in a lot of pain & was really stumped to knowing what was actually the problem....in the end it was just the sinus infection. Perhaps go to your doctor for sinus infection....good luck.
