For the last year or so I have been experiencing random episodes of pain on the left side of my jaw and face. It starts as a sort of a dull throbbing in my tooth and soon the entire left jaw feels that way. I notice that the pain comes soon after I chew gum or eat something sugary, or at night after laying on my left side with my face on the pillow. Sometimes I can even be doing nothing and the pain will begin. Unless I take a Tylenol, it takes about 15-20 minutes for the pain to subside.
I just had this pain on the left side of my face. I just experienced this this morning. it went for an hour then it disappear, and suddenly i am experiencing it again. i dont have any dental problem. the pain is specifically on my jaw part and cheek part. my left shoulder and neck is affected too. the left part of my head is affected too. the pain is bothering me.
I have been feeling the weirdest sensations on the left side of my head. My left ear feels clogged, and slight pain/pressure radiates through my ear down my jaw line. Sometimes, I feel pain underneath my teeth, but I know that my teeth are okay. In addition, my cheek kind of tingles. It doesn't hurt, I just feel it...if that makes sense. It evens spreads and turns into a buzzing sensation in my lips, but only the left side, not my full mouth. It happens off and on through out the day.
Over the past couple days I've been having some pain in my jaw (not affiliated with a tooth) and today I noticed a swollen bump right on the jaw line on the right hand side in between the chin and the back part of the jaw near the ear. The pain has been throbbing and has radiated all along the right side of my face, primarily including the inner right ear, the right temple, and of course the right side of my jaw.
I have been wearing bite guard for last year and it got better but started hurting again this week really bad and having spasms in jaw and now my neck is killing me on the left side. Pain is going up the left side of neck and down left shoulder into arm. Have not had chance to go to doctor yet but am wondering if anyone with cervical disc problems has ever had it to affect temple and jaw area of face??? Am thinking maybe this isn't TMJ at all....
Since July 2013 I have noticed swelling on the left side of my face. It is there every day but sometimes it is far worse. It is always swollen just along the top of my jaw/bottom of my cheek. I had thyroid cancer 5 years ago and had a complete thyroidectomy. 14 lymph nodes were removed and 3 had cancer. I was on levoxyl but was switched to synthroid when levoxyl was no longer available. I noticed the swelling around the time of the med change. My thyroid Dr. says there is no relation.
ve since then lost 3 teeth in that area and am now left with chronic right sided face pain literally the whole right side of my head. I had a MRI last month that was negative but the pain is progressing. It now includes my right ear as well. I've be treated with neurontin and tegretol with no relief. I can't even find a surgeon to do an exploratory surgery. WHAT CAN I DO I AM REALLY IN PAIN?
It's been 3 long weeks of pain, numbness, tingling, throbbing on the lower left section of my face, including my lower lip, chin, bellow the jaw line, draw an imaginary line going from the crease between lips all the way to my ear.
I woke up about a week ago with issues on the right side of my face. My eye was extremely dry with an inability to make tears, my muscle in my cheek was not functioning and my inner ear was in pain. The left side of my face is still fully functioning. I'm not sure of what caused this. After taking amoxicillin for about a week now, my eye is back to normal working condition but my muscle in my cheek and mouth is still not fully functioning.

I have a strange feeling on the left side of my face. It seems to be tight and slightly swollen most days and some days my neck feels tight down from my ear. There isn't any pain just the strange tight and swollen feeling.
I have been to GP and Dentist neither really have an idea after my CT and X-rays only showed what they think was a small lymph node 7mm below my ear and jaw area. I have been on a course of antibotics and steroids but they have stopped the symptoms.
Also, you might go to a dentist specializing in TMJ disorders or a maxillofacial specialist, because a problem with the jaw is strongly suspect with headache on the side with jaw pain. Do you clench or grind your teeth when you sleep? I'm a clencher myself and I have both joints with arthritis and joint disc dislocations, with one of them out of place even when I open my mouth (called without reduction, I believe).

As long as i can remember i have had pain in the left side of my chest and get a cramp in the left side of my jaw. What is this and what type of doctor should i see, is it serious? Lately it has been more intense lasting all day usely, I exercise regularly. Im confused please help 31 year old male, 6'1 195 lbs and i smoke. I also recently was laid off and don't have insurance at the time is this something i can put off for a few months until my new inssurance kicks in?
My seventeen year old daughter was complaining of her jaw area on the left side of her face was hurting, thought maybe it was dental took her to the dentist they cleaned her teeth and said next visit they'd do a panoramic xray to see if it was her wisdom teeth, the following week her cheek and tongue became numb or didn't feel the same as her right side took her to peditrician they took did blood work for mumps which came back negative, she did have more fullness in left cheek, went back
