I am quite sure if it was an ear infection, you would be feeling very sick by now with a fever, and the pain would be more localized( in your ear itself) not as a headache pain. In this case, you should get an opinion from your dentist. If it is TMJ he will be able to help you better than your reg. MD.
I have had jaw pain for many days, only on one side, now i have ear and throat pain on the same side, and my jaw hurts so bad, like I had been punched (or so I assume) really har din the jaw. It hurts to eat, and I have pain in my ear and a sore throat.....can anyone give me advise? Bad sinuses? Time to go the Dr?
When I try to open my mouth fully, the pain is very severe and also, I have headache, the pain is near the eyebrow and behind my neck. I have on and off fever and chills and also nauseousness and dizziness sometimes. My hearing in the right ear is normal and no infection either. Please let me know exactly what it is related to and what doctor shud i seek if needed?
However, I have taken all of the medication, the redness was gone within a couple of days, but now the pain has worsened, even to the point of causing a burning in my jaw by my ear, as it does if I laugh when I have something sour in my mouth. I also have a continuous ear pain and have a headache all day and night. At night it causes me to wake up and the headache is so bad I feel sick to my stomach. It hurts worse to lay on my right side also.
ve had an ongoing headache for about 3 weeks now, I have been to the doctor twice, and was given Naproxen, which disagreed with me, I was told to relax, my jaw is in spasm, the headache wakes me at night, and the pain doesnt stay in the same place, yesterday it was around my left ear and jaw, this morning its at the back of my head.
Has anyone got any suggestions to help it?
Now a days i have continuous neck ache feel like pain in the vein, some thing burning below the jaw and left side of head near ear. It never goes away with any pain killer. I feel each and every day almost all times. In the morning my eyes are puffy and fell like i had no sleep. Some time i feel pain in my chest (upper left side) which i wonder related to my left neck pain.
Sometime i feel too tired. Sometime my hands and feet are so cold. Some time i feel warmer face but cold inside the body.
Just an ordinary doctor could tell me that?
hello, you could have tmj-temporomandibular joint disease-it does cause dizziness, headaches, pain in and around the ear, pain in the jaw and jaw clicking and popping. there are some good articles on the internet they give you more symptoms and info about it. i am not a dr-- i do not know about fever-chills and throwing up. with that it could be something else. sounds like you may need to see a dr and let him or her decide what is going on. good luck and hope you feel better soon.

The initial pain was primarily in my ear, but then spread to other areas on the left side of my face. I do have pain in my in the upper part of my jaw near the joint, but I don't have any of the other symptoms that you listed. Could it still be Bell's palsy and why does the pain lessen when I lay down and resume when I stand?
Hello, need help and advice. First let me say that I'm a 57-year-old female, and we have no insurance. So I need to know what to do. Presently I am experiencing very sharp pains on the left side of my head, One spot that hurts a lot to touch is above my left ear kind of at an angle. Even if I comb my hair, it's painful. If I move my hair, it's painful. Right at this moment it's not hurting, but it is a little sore. It's been waking me up like at 3:00 a.m.
It always starts with a horrible headache then it goes to numbness in my cheek and jaw and ear. The other day I had a new symptom that was a sore throat pain in underneath of jaw and behind my ear. Anyway, someone told me the headache was a side effect of gabbapentin but the headache has always been present even before I started medication. The headache is constant and unrelenting.
I have had MRI and cat scan and they were normal. Dr thinks my TN came from mastoiditis that I had.

I have had MRI's and a spinal tap about 7 years ago and the lastest MRI, because I wanted to see if there was any change, was done 11 months ago and all was fine.
I have severe pain in my jaw and it is difficult to close my mouth without tension/pain. It sends stabbing pain both in my jaw and ear at night. I also have a lump on the jaw joint near my ear!!! I has been going on since begining of september.I wake up screaming. It is like some stabbed me with a long knitting needle after held over a flame!!!!!!
