If this is lyme I have late stage lyme because of the axonal periperial neuropathy. All my lyme stuff is coming back negative. My tick is missing. He use to be in my chart he thinks a nurse threw him out. ugh! He has agreed to do all my of my blood work for IGENEX. The PCP did say that autoimmune stuff is hard and there are different opinions ......and doctors feel strongly about certain aspects of it ......
So, if you think you may have Lyme and everything else is ruled out first, see a Lyme doctor. Also, conventional doctors won't treat Lyme disease because of some weird CDC recommendation or whatever. Anyways, most don't know what to do, or if they do, they won't do it because there's no honor in being called a "Lyme doc".
I'm not technically trained, so this is just a [former] Lyme patient speaking, but since infectious disease docs are among the strongest Lyme-deniers, I would find an ILADS-type MD for a second opinion before proceeding. Get copies of ALL your tests to date, and keep a set for yourself as you go along. Getting copies of things later depend on too many variables out of your control, sometimes as trivial as a doc's office not wanting to waste copier toner and paper by copying 'too many' things.
This has been drug out for a month now and she has been in a lot of pain. Jaw pain, joint pain, aches, cramps, shortness of breath etc. The doctor told her its epstein bar and there is no treatment and it should go away in a few months. She believes that the symptoms are those of lyme disease. From my research epstein bar symptoms are not as severe. She has trouble sleeping and has taken a lot of time off of work because she is always exhausted.
but that one day is literally a pain! The symptoms seem so simliar to Lyme disease that I had never thought of it until my wife brought it up a couple days ago.
Hey everyone i've had many different symptoms that have come and gone over the last 4 weeks, and it's very strange because my fiance said have you thought of Lyme disease, and i read a list of Lyme disease symtoms and there are about 40 symptoms and i have had many of them, anyone with any Lyme info what do you think, i've had chest tightness, coughing, sore joints, sore back, numbness in extremities, blurry vision, sore testicle and lower abdomen, fluttering in my chest, dizziness, shortness of
At that time it was suggested I be re-tested for Lyme Disease. I located a LLMD and the Western Blot IGG was positive for Lyme. I was initially put on Biaxin 500 mgs. BID and Ceftin 500 mgs. BID for 6 weeks, and now am on 2 gms daily of IV Ceftriaxone. My question is how much CNS repair can I expect at Late Stage, and if any over what period of time. The ceftriaxone is for one month to be followed by three more months of oral antibiotics. This may be changed.

Hello, My Lyme test was done by Quest Diagnostics. They haven't given me the units of the results, but the lab report says I tested negative for Lyme Disease AB IGG WB, Lyme Disease IGM, WB, and Lyme Disease AB screen. The negative range is given as "< OR = .90" Does this help? Like you and Ricobord said, I already know that I probably should find a doctor that sends my results to Igenex labs. I do not remember a tick bite shortly before this all started.
Everythign went back to normal after a while. Could this have been from lyme Disease also? I am now feeling alot of pain all over my body. Sometimes just one place. Sometimes meny at once. There are days that it is hard for me to even move when i first wake up. I also have nausea, Numbness and tingling in my hands, arms, feet, legs, back, and face. fatigue. I fine myself beeing more short temperd with my kids. Its also harder to focus and I question my memory. Is this Lyme disease?
All because of testing. The testing is unreliable and your son had classic lyme disease. IMO, he should have been treated based on symptoms. This could cause him future or ongoing problems. I certainly hope this is not the case. I wish you all the best.
The doctor was surprised as no one suspects I have Lyme as I look pretty robust -- a little plump I guess. But she said You have acute lyme disease. I just cried -- as I knew it all along and it was a relief almost to know why I feel this way. I will post my other symptoms in a separate note to you.
to rule out MS, lupus, even lyme--all with normal result, but i am thinking more and more that lyme disease may be the source of my illness. like i mentioned in an earlier post, i am waiting to receive my test kit from IgeneX after a negative ELISA through Quest. my symptoms have presented in the following way: 12/2007: irregular heartbeat--went to ER, told it was anxiety; eventually subsided after a few days 2/2008: irregular heartbeat returned.
In the face of some elements of mainstream medical opinion, some doctors and patient advocacy groups [this means ILADS and LLMDs] ***claim*** that Lyme disease can develop into a chronic disease requiring high doses of antibiotics over long periods of time. However aside from the issue of terminology, some mainstream medical opinion goes as far as to assert that some Lyme disease cases can become "difficult to treat" if not quickly diagnosed.
I have recently started having random joint pain, shoulder, wrist, hand, knee and have found that resting the joint in a splint or brace reallly helps. However, the latest pain is in my jaw - this happened last night. Anybody else had this?

, has written several books on lyme disease. He successfully treated his own lyme disease with herbal-homeopathic formulas. He has two lyme formulas that he sells (no prescription necessary) and I know at least one of them, Borrologen, has cats claw listed as an ingredient. I'm not sure about the Lymogen, because it is a new formula and not listed on his website yet. I am currently on this treatment for CFS and having amazing results.
I have had fibromyalgia for at least 11 years. I have had 9 root canals and 5 absesses. 5 extrations and a bone graft and so far one inplant, which they put into my sinuses and has to come out. Not to mention the 1,000s of dollars I have spent on all this work to find out it was all the wrong treatment for someone with lyme disease. Which is the cause of my "fibromyalgia syndrome." My teeth and cranial facial pain are unbelievable and almost impossible to stand at times.
Could I have a pinched nerve from compensation of my jaw pain and ear pain or could this be Lyme. I have not noticed a bite or a rash. Just want to feel better. What are your thoughts.
The treatment is antibiotics and usually the pain will not return. The lyme will be removed by the antibiotic. However, if the pain is related to HERPES then the pain will often return. There are some signs that would idicate a HERPES infection, such as small vesicles in the ear area. Since it is impossible to fully get rid of the Herpes from the sensory neuron, the pain will return. There are other medications for the pain.

Just to be sure that the jaw pain is Lyme related and not something new (my luck) I've got a dentist appt on Monday, but all the "classic" signs are there. THe pain is mainly in front of my left ear, and is generally there when I bite or chew. It tends to get less as I continue to chew, but aches after eating. At the same time, it sort of feels like it "could" be a tooth, though my teeth and gums seem fine.

At this point, I am awaiting a follow-up in September with neuro. Thoughts? I have three very specific questions. If this were Lyme disease, could it actually cause atrophied vocal cords? Does the atrophied vocal cords dx in itself define that there is some neurological disorder, or is it possible to develop out of some known benign condition?
I happen to find one, after many years, who understood Lyme Disease because she was part of the original Lyme Disease studies at Yale. I was very lucky. I had been tested for everything in the book. I mean it. Lyme Disease came out positive when sent to a more sensitive lab. I felt better for a while on antibiotics, which told me that was the correct diagnosis. Very few doctors understand the real problem and how to diagnosis and treat Lyme Disease.
