For the last year or so I have been experiencing random episodes of pain on the left side of my jaw and face. It starts as a sort of a dull throbbing in my tooth and soon the entire left jaw feels that way. I notice that the pain comes soon after I chew gum or eat something sugary, or at night after laying on my left side with my face on the pillow. Sometimes I can even be doing nothing and the pain will begin. Unless I take a Tylenol, it takes about 15-20 minutes for the pain to subside.
I just had this pain on the left side of my face. I just experienced this this morning. it went for an hour then it disappear, and suddenly i am experiencing it again. i dont have any dental problem. the pain is specifically on my jaw part and cheek part. my left shoulder and neck is affected too. the left part of my head is affected too. the pain is bothering me.
I have been wearing bite guard for last year and it got better but started hurting again this week really bad and having spasms in jaw and now my neck is killing me on the left side. Pain is going up the left side of neck and down left shoulder into arm. Have not had chance to go to doctor yet but am wondering if anyone with cervical disc problems has ever had it to affect temple and jaw area of face??? Am thinking maybe this isn't TMJ at all....
Since July 2013 I have noticed swelling on the left side of my face. It is there every day but sometimes it is far worse. It is always swollen just along the top of my jaw/bottom of my cheek. I had thyroid cancer 5 years ago and had a complete thyroidectomy. 14 lymph nodes were removed and 3 had cancer. I was on levoxyl but was switched to synthroid when levoxyl was no longer available. I noticed the swelling around the time of the med change. My thyroid Dr. says there is no relation.
ve since then lost 3 teeth in that area and am now left with chronic right sided face pain literally the whole right side of my head. I had a MRI last month that was negative but the pain is progressing. It now includes my right ear as well. I've be treated with neurontin and tegretol with no relief. I can't even find a surgeon to do an exploratory surgery. WHAT CAN I DO I AM REALLY IN PAIN?
I have been feeling the weirdest sensations on the left side of my head. My left ear feels clogged, and slight pain/pressure radiates through my ear down my jaw line. Sometimes, I feel pain underneath my teeth, but I know that my teeth are okay. In addition, my cheek kind of tingles. It doesn't hurt, I just feel it...if that makes sense. It evens spreads and turns into a buzzing sensation in my lips, but only the left side, not my full mouth. It happens off and on through out the day.
I woke up about a week ago with issues on the right side of my face. My eye was extremely dry with an inability to make tears, my muscle in my cheek was not functioning and my inner ear was in pain. The left side of my face is still fully functioning. I'm not sure of what caused this. After taking amoxicillin for about a week now, my eye is back to normal working condition but my muscle in my cheek and mouth is still not fully functioning.

I have a strange feeling on the left side of my face. It seems to be tight and slightly swollen most days and some days my neck feels tight down from my ear. There isn't any pain just the strange tight and swollen feeling.
I have been to GP and Dentist neither really have an idea after my CT and X-rays only showed what they think was a small lymph node 7mm below my ear and jaw area. I have been on a course of antibotics and steroids but they have stopped the symptoms.

A lot of cutting was done on my face and neck. Now at the age of 50 I am experiencing severe jaw pain in that jaw, neck pain on that same side, tongue cramping and severe tongue pain. I cannot turn my head to the left and the pain is excruciating. I know I have a lot of nerve damage on that left side where the ijury occured. But everyone I have seen, from oral surgoens to dentists to doctors' are stumped at what is causing this and no one will treat me.

My niece was told that she has a disease called PI for short because the name is so long. This pain goes up the side of her face starting at the ear and to the top of her scalp. To move even her eye brows causes sever stabbing pain. She also has a tumer on her macula in her eye They dont want to opperate on her eye at this time because it could detatch her retina. Pain killers helped to release pain from right shoulder but left head pain which spread over to my face and upper neck and left jaw ( pain in teeth as if i have taken something very cold/hot) stayed little longer.
Then next day on 21st I contacted Ortho specialist for any possibility of joint pain problems.
My left side began to hurt but a very different pain more of an ache and my jaw clicks. My dentist referred my to a specialist who said it was TMJ. I have a bite guard etc and have had some teeth re shaped. Recently my bottom lip on my left side is numb, no pain just numb. Is this the TN, the TMJ or something else? (Need a new face!!
I was fortunate that the paralysis went away after two weeks, but I continued to have occasional pain and tingling on that side. Six years later, That side of my face is a little different than the other, a little fuller looking, a little "laxer," and I will occasionally get some fleeting pain or tingling in my ear and face.
Two years ago I started having acute pain on my right side of my face. I wasn't sure if it was tooth ache, sinus or what ever, except the pain was incredible and would not go away unless I took strong pain relief. I had an MRI scan which indicated nothing,blood tests indicated nothing,I saw a dental specialist who made a bite guard appliance.
I decided to go to my Osteopath and although it took nine 3o minute sessions, he sorted me out.
