1759659 tn?1312975493 Two days ago I started to get this pain in my inner ear I have read up about the possibilities of which it could be ; Ear Infection, Swimmers Ear A Non-Burst Ear drum of a flight and a Burst Ear Drum since of these things I think that may have to go into way more detail. Firstly I was swimming in my pool under water when I heard water suction which went into my ear when I got out I tried to dispurse of this water.
Avatar m tn I have been having this sharp pain every so often in my left ear come and goes all of the sudden. My ear also rings for a long period of time and just recently I have noticed a thumping noise almost like a twitch. Any ideas?
387767 tn?1345872027 Is it possible to have arthritis in the jaw? I get pain in my jaw right near my ear, and I get pain in my ear, especially the left one. I also get a sharp pains in my head on that side. I am worried. Doctors are not really giving me an answer, and I visited several dentists to check my teeth and for TMJ. My jaw kind of clicks when I move it, but not really any pain in my mouth. Since I have arthritis in so many other joints, is it possible to have it here too?
5875644 tn?1375886365 Then, a few days later I started to develop an ear ache in the same area. So now it hurts from my left ear down into my left jaw as well as a slight feeling of pressure above my left eye. I also can feel like post-nasal drip when it does hurt. It doesn't hurt all the time, which leads me to believe it's not just a tooth ache. It seems to hurt worse in the evening. Sometimes I can even chew on that side without it hurting. Cold makes it really bad.
Avatar n tn Someone please help I have had ear pain for nine years on and off always in the right ear never in the left. The pain is in the ear and all around it and down by the Jaw when it comes on it is really bad sometimes making me cry. painkillers do not help and it doesn’t go away till I’ve been to sleep. So it can last all day. Anything can bring it on the wind.yawning.scratching. touching the ear. Eating.
659608 tn?1318289366 It is however more than possible that you could have an infection in your jaw, say, from an impacted or infected wisdom tooth. Tooth pain can often make the ear and neck hurt as well (just as an ear infection can make the teeth hurt...). There is also the possibility that there is nothing wrong with you dentally either and you are suffering from neuralgic pain.
Avatar m tn I noticed everytime I took off my glasses, I there was a slight pain in the left ear, only the left, though the right was feeling pain as well, but the left was bad, all of a sudden one day this sharp pin and needle pain just started while i was wearing the glasses. I changed my glasses like a year later and this time it was light, but I would say every 2 months or so this pain returns ever since then. I told my doctor this, but could not see an immediate issue.
Avatar n tn m not sure if this is tooth or ear related. The pain is definately in my jaw, but I could not point to a specific tooth and the pain shoots up to my ear. I'll also try ibuprophen. Thanks for the comments!
Avatar m tn alot of morning i wake up with one and im guessing its due to this jaw pain. is only on left side. do i go to the dentist or dr for this? had my wisdoms out yrs ago and had a bad infection, could this have anything to do with that?
Avatar n tn For the past 3 weeks, I have had pain when chewing or biting down in my right ear and in that part of my jaw just below the temple. My dentist and orthodontist have said my jaw is disaligned in the past (I look normal though), but I have never had pain. My back molars do not touch when I bite, and my front teeth bite right together with no overbite at all. However, the pain has just now come and seems worse when I sleep on my face funny. Sometimes it is so bad that it is difficult to eat.
Avatar f tn There are many cases where individuals that suffering from sinus congestion also experience pressure in the ear, with earaches and even jaw pain. The earaches you are having may be an infection in the ear due to blocked sinuses. Other causes of aw pain can be due to infection of salivary gland like parotitis, infected foci, osteoporosis related jaw disarticulation or fracture.
Avatar n tn I am having chronic pain in left side of head, ear, jaw, teeth, and hard palate. This has happened before in past years but only short time and not as bad as this time. I am in a tremendous amount of pain. Nsaids help on a tiny bit. Dentist found nothing, but made a 3 hundred dollar mouth guard. Any help will be appreciated. Pain is both constant and shooting.
Avatar f tn Honestly I dont feel any pain around my jaw, But when I open/close my jaw I can feel a cracking sound in the left jaw (yes around my left ear) but still no pain. The pressure I feel is comes very quickly either when I rest the back of my head on the chair or when I lay the back of my head on bed. Also this discomfort is very noticable when I close my eyes! Sometimes the valsava manuveur makes me feel better only for a few seconds.
Avatar n tn That could cause the pain in the jawbone along with the pain in the ear. I have had it radiate through my jawbone down into my ear and neck and ohhh it hurts...good luck.
Avatar f tn Hi For about 3 months my neck hurts, especially when i try to tilt my head back or down to the left. The pain radiates to my ear and up the left side of my head. I cant sleep on my right side , the pain is so intense. Should i see someone for this?
Avatar n tn Hi there, for me it started when i lose my voice (not competely) but no pain in the throat area. then area around my left jaw joint area (below the ear) starts to feel uncomfortable especially every time i moved my jaw or open my mouth wide to eat something. i dont have toothache etc. then i start to have running nose and nose block. i went to see a GP, he say there is slight infection in the ear and nose. i was on medication for 6 days.
Avatar n tn I know many people with this and it can cause headaches, neck pain, ear pain, all kinds of pain in your head/face area. First I would talk with your regular doctor then maybe a referral, if your doctor agrees, to someone who specializes in TMJ disorders. Please remember this is just a guess, so see your family doctor first OK. Good luck and let me know how it goes. Take care.
1446980 tn?1286838538 Yup, I get ear and jaw pain too. My jaw feels tight, my ears feel full, kinda like I'm 20 ft underwater. I get stabbing pains along my jawline and behind my ears. My mom is a dental hygienist. Her theory is that compression or inflammation is putting pressure on the 4th trigeminal nerve. I think it was 4th. Those stabbing, sharp, shooting pains are nerve pain. Pain meds won't touch them. Neurontin could help.
1748247 tn?1311799602 For the past 3 days now I have been having a pain radiating from behind my left ear down to my left side of my neck. It is swollen and hot to the touch. I have taken some Advil for the pain, and that does not seem to be doing anything for it. I have i ced it and the pain is still there. I have discovered that there is a lump right under the ear where the jaw connects. That whole side of my face is swollen, hot and painful.
1426391 tn?1282856586 I have a severe pain in my left ear. It is a burning pain. I went to the doctor 5 times in 8 days. First they took our a blockage of wax, which was black and hard. Then they let me go home, but then the pain was still there. I went back the next day, they looked in my ear again saying I had and infection. I got antibiotics, which I drank for 2 days without any help. I went to a new hospital where they looked at my ear and gave me stronger antibiotics and pain killers.
Avatar n tn My jaw doesnt seem even,if i bite on my right side then the left doesnt meet and vice versa. This is causing pain inmy ear my head and my face in general, my doctor is rubbish they offered me anti-depressants for stress but i just dont know what else to do please help!
Avatar f tn A few lymph nodes in the neck/under jaw/left side between ear and jaw (not sure if parotid gland, masseter muscle, or something else) are slightly enlarged. The jaw is slightly tender (if I touch it, I'd rate the pain at 0.5). Also feels like my left ear is clogged, very rarely I get a popping sensation with no particular rhythm (doesnt mimic heartbeat, pops are between every 5-20 seconds and lasts for 4-8 hours so far).
626278 tn?1221946201 My mom just began to get really bad pain behind her left ear (she's in her 40's). It started when she woke up and doesn't seem to get any better. Nothing is swollen. She said that it hurts to open her jaw all the way as well. And that it almost feels like she has a kink in her neck. What would you diagnose this as? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPREACIATED!!!
Avatar f tn I awake to left eye pain and it starts to increase the pain and then radiates across my upper jaw across to my left ear. I feel the need to stand and rock back and forth and at times stomp my right foot---maybe a way to divert the pain away from by thoughts Dr. It is sooo painful. It really takes a toll once it ends. What is going on? I even went to the E.R. and was referred to a nuero? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE> Johnging Afraid to sleep.
Avatar f tn For the past five days my neck, ear, jaw and head have been hurting, ONLY on the left side. My neck feels achy and slightly stiff, I get a sharp pain that shoots through my ear when I swallow food and drink. I do have some slight swelling on my jaw. The pain is constant with no relief. I just moved and are without insurance right now. Just wondering if this is something I can wait out or if I should be seen for it and also would like some idea of what this is?
Avatar n tn Well I started biting down on my jaw (left side only) and now the muscles on jaw and in my neck on my left side twitch. Of course I have the jaw pain and ear pain associated with the biting down on my jaw. But I have never had muscle twitches in my neck. Anyone have any answers?
