you need to go to the ER or if you are alone right now, call 911 (don't drive yourself)!!! Not everyone experiences the same symptoms of a heart attack or the same intensity. If you have any of these symptoms: chest pressure, sweating, jaw or arm pain, dizziness, nausea, shortness of breath, chest pain, or anything similar then you need a cardiac evaluation ASAP!

Have been also feeling pain that comes and goes in my arms.Question is am I having a heart attack or just freaking out?
Sometimes I have body aches that make me feel like I have the flu. I also have a dull pain in my left jaw and sometimes pain radiating down my neck. My doctor has run several tests including thyroid function, glucose, and some neurological studies. Everything comes back perfect, but I still feel bad. Could this be a heart condition? Should I be more pro-active by seeking out a cardiologist on my own? There is a lot of cancer, diabetes, and heart disease in my family.
Ken- that's what I was told by a cardiac nurse, that a heart attack results in heart damage. Plain symptoms on their own do not constitute a full blown heart attack, more like angina. Of course that's nothing to ignore either.
A few moments later, the area around my left carotid started to hurt, and following that a numbness traced up along my the left side of my face and mouth along my jaw. The symptoms are all those of a heart attack, but I'm doubting that the case because they haven't ever gone away nor have they worsened. What exactly is this, and how severe is it? Is it maybe just a pinched nerve aggravated by this morning's spinal manipulation?
Recently I went for a medical check up and as the EKG was abnormal and absent R wave I was told to go in for a MYO VIEW test. I walked 10 minutes stopping in stage IV as I had reached the peak heart rate of 167(my age now is 53) the observation given in the report : 1. Normal exercise capacity and conditioning for age and gender. 2. no ischemic symptoms with testing 3. No ischemic EKG changes 4.No arrhythmia 5. blood pressure rose normally from 110/70 to 186/80.
It would really take a stress echo, where they speed your heart up with drugs. I had one of these a few years back, and they slowly increased the drugs, speeding up my heart. One Nurse watched the monitor while the technician did the scanning. They increased the drugs until I felt the symptoms and voila, the problem showed on the scan. As soon as the images were taken, the drug was stopped and within 2 mins my heart was back to normal rate again.
These feel just like the chest pains I had with my heart attacks, but this last time it wasn't a heart attack. I do have a couple of blockages that do not require intervention at the mmoment, but I was told if the spasms continue that could change. Have they done other tests besides the angio? Give us a few more details.
It turned out he had a 85% blockage and the doctor said he would have had a massive heart attack if not treated. Even the doctor was surprised he had no chest pain or other symptoms, so I know heart attacks can sneak up. I guess thats what I am worried about.
Because females can have jaw pain when there is a heart attack even. So, please get your heart checked out. Also, ask about a doppler study to make sure your carotid arteries in your neck are patent, without blockage. Next, why did you get the splint made? Do you grind, clench, or have arthritis evidenced in jaw joint x-raying? TMJ dysfunction can lead to migraine pain. I personally clench at night and have osteoarthritis in my joints and a hard, flat-planed splint does help me.
//www.emedicinehealth.com/mitral_valve_prolapse/page2_em.htm The pain in your jaw and arm sounds almost like a heart attack. I am wondering if you do have some plugged arteries. You should find out before you get pregnant again as being pregnant is hard on ones heart.
then this pain suddenly came in my jaw which lasted for about 3 mins.
What could cause chest pain that has the symptoms of a possible heart attack but isn't that? Ten years ago, when I was 38, I was teaching a class when I got excruciating, constricting chest pain. My left arm tingles, and my jaw had the same terrible pain and it felt "locked up." The "attack" lasted 5-10 minutes. My jaw hurt for days, and my chest and ribs felt sore, as well. When this happened, a coworker took my pulse and it wasn't even fast.
I am having a slight pain for the past 10 days in my CHEST, LEFT HAND,BOTH SHOULDER BLADES, BACKSIDE OF MY HEAD AND IN THE MIDDLE OF MY BACK. I had an endoscopy last year and was diagnosed with a SMALL HIATUS HERNIA. I was on Prevacid and Cidine and then I left it 2 months back without notifying my doctor. I have this slight stinging pain in the middle of my upper abdomen and on the middle of it as well.
I had an episode that masked as full blown heart attack for which I took nitro and it went away. I took nitro the pain went away. I tool a drink of water that caused a slight pain in the side of my neck. I felt like I had to burp and tried to. i became nausiated, then a rush feeling went to my head.
Pain that starts along my jaw bone and spreads quickly to my chest (Like a really bad case of heartburn) where I have trouble taking deep breaths without pain. I break out in a sweat and feel panicy. It only lasts for a short time but it is starting to worry me. I also have occasional left upper arm pain. Does this sound like heart attack symptoms?
The symptoms you describe are typical for a heart attack in a woman. Woman will normally feel pain n the back rather the chest and mostly radiating to the jaw. The fact that it only lasted 15 mins is a good sign, but given the nature of your pain along with the timing, 4 am to 9 am is the most common time for a heart attack, I would be getting checked out.
jaw and face discomfort I think that my jaw and chest pains are caused by gas because one time I was walking in town and I felt like I had to burp. and when i did i felt i weird pain in my jaw and chest. I have had anxiety problems in the past such as When i was in school assembly i had a massive panic attack because i thought i needed to pee. i freaked out and left the assembly and as soon as i left i felt fine.
Dear jptr, Sorry to hear about your chest pain. A heart attack is the result of damage to the heart muscle. One is not able to tell whether or not a heart attack has taken place unless they are evaluated by a physician with blood tests and electrocardiography (ECG). It is impossible to know if you had a heart attack based on this description. You should see a doctor immediately. I would not recommend using this forum to answer questions regarding an acute situation.
Chest pain Arm pain Back pain in the center/upper left shoulder blade Pain in the jaw-line Fullness in the chest (almost like a short period of asthma) I also notice that sometimes I get very hot, to the point that I am sweating... all while in a very air-conditioned apartment with 2 fans on me. Sometimes I start to get dizzy, as if the room spins for a split second. I have also gotten a "lump in the throat" sort of feeling.
I would point out that chest/arm/jaw pain are the classic symptons of a heart attack. However, it is important to realize that not everyone has the classic signs of a heart attack. Up to 25% are thought to be silent heart attacks with no obviuos symptons. Women may not experience chest pain; instead they feel nauseous, shortness of breath, sweating, pain in the shouldrs, etc. I am a 54 year old male.
I suddenly felt pain, not the usual pain, but a Hard Squeezing pain, hard to breathe, pain in my jaw, cold sweats, some nausea, and more than anything FEAR, I was afraid of fainting or falling down in the store, I should have had them call 911, but I did not, I only wanted to get home to where my husband was. This attack lasted about 15 minutes of intense squeezing, probably more. I just checked out any video and walked home as quick as I could. ( I don't drive.

My father only had an upset stomach for two days - no chest pain - yet it was a heart attack - if only we knew. By the time he had the crushing chest pain he was 2 minutes away from death. The ambulance people tried to revive him for an hour and a half. It was no use. He didn't have any known heart disease or chest pains up to that point. I hope i have scared you. I wish i still had my dad and someome had scared me too.
