She said if I was not dealing with TMJD issues she would try to retreat it - but she feels CERTAIN the pain is associated with the jaw and is all referred pain. My pain from the tooth radiates back to my jaw and the masseter muscle and trideminal nerve. She wants me to try to get the jaw issues under control first before retreating the tooth. She does not feel it is fractured further either - she tested the gumline etc.

for this he gave me brufen 200mg, amoxicilin 500mg and flagyl 400mg, but still im havig sever pain in my lower left jaw where my wisdom tooth was extracted. when i met my doctor to remove the stiches i complained about my situataion, he said its normal as for the bone beeing drilled.

SOMETIMES THE PAIN SEEMED MORE LIKE MY JAW BONE, AND TOOTH PAIN. MY DENTIST CHECKED THE BITE, AND TOOK X-RAY. I WENT SEVERAL TIMES, AND HE COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING. I WAS REFERRED TO AN ENDODONTIST WHO BASICALLY DID THE SAME THING. HE SAID THE ROOT CANAL WAS OK (FROM X-RAY) AND IF PAIN CONTINUED, I NEEDED TO HAVE THE TOOTH PULLIED. IN NOVEMBER 2007, MY DENTIST PULLED THE TOOTH. IT WAS VERY LARGE AND BROKE IN SEVERAL PIECES. IT TOOK HIM OVER AN HOUR TO REMOVE THE TOOTH.

I have developed a blue spot on the chewing surface of the tooth. I am facial pain around by jaw and ear. I had jaw surgery 10 years ago with plates and screws. Could the jaw pain be from the plates and screws in by jaw.

I am having diffculties opening my mouth because of the pain and soreness. What I need to know is this normal to have pain in the jaw area after a wisdom tooth extraction? And if so, how long should I expect to experience this pain?

Back from Dr. my tooth is cracked. I am calling the dentist and he gave me some antibiotics. The pain isn't unbearable on my end either but it is there off and on. If it is just the tooth thing then I have not had any sx worth mentioning. But again only finished up 2nd shot Wed.

I have exactly what is being didcussed under jaw pain tooth pain. I can't hardly stand the pain. A month ago it was on the other side of my jaw. Had it xrayed & got 2nd opinion. They said it could be a sinus infection. I can believe the pain can possibly be that bad. It left. Now I have exactly the same thing on the other side of my mouth. It is in the lower jaw/ bone/tooth. They said it normally is in the upper teeth. Has anyone got any answers?

The first root canal on #30 tooth was done on May 21 and then about five days later I started getting pain in the tooth area and thoughout my jaw area and into my ear. I went back to my endodonist who said it was not the tooth and then referred me to an oral surgeon/Maxillofacial dentist who said I was having jaw spasms due to the fact that I had two root canals done just a few days apart and my mouth was open for so long.

About a week ago I developed a slight tooth ache on the lower left. It is a tooth that is broken, but since I had root canal done on it several years ago, there's no nerve in it. Then, a few days later I started to develop an ear ache in the same area. So now it hurts from my left ear down into my left jaw as well as a slight feeling of pressure above my left eye. I also can feel like post-nasal drip when it does hurt.

I have always been told that teeth should not be crowned until you can positively identify the exact tooth causing the pain. Otherwise, the dentist may crown the wrong tooth. The only way to know for sure is to wait until the tooth cracks further and a piece breaks off. That has happened to 2 of my teeth. Then I had them crowned.

Almost a year ago, I had a crown loosen. My dentist removed it, and recemented it. Since that time, I've had increasing jaw pain. The tooth is the second molar from the back, left-hand side. My bite on the crown side has not felt right since the crown was reset. Also, I feel a slight heat or burning along my tongue on that side (not sharp or intermittent--just constant). I went back to the dentist, and she drilled down the crown a bit after testing my bite.

Sometimes after getting a shot in the area near the tooth, there will be pain for a couple of days after. My gum swelled and was sore for atleast 4 days after my fillings were done. It does go away.

m not sure if this is tooth or ear related. The pain is definately in my jaw, but I could not point to a specific tooth and the pain shoots up to my ear. I'll also try ibuprophen. Thanks for the comments!

The root canal was not easy - I felt some of treatment due to inflammation from crack and afterwards I had pain for a few days both in the tooth and jaw. My jaw pain is on left side only - same side as tooth. My crown was placed on tooth with temporary cement and left like that for months - but the off and on discomfort remained.

It is however more than possible that you could have an infection in your jaw, say, from an impacted or infected wisdom tooth. Tooth pain can often make the ear and neck hurt as well (just as an ear infection can make the teeth hurt...). There is also the possibility that there is nothing wrong with you dentally either and you are suffering from neuralgic pain.

7 years ago I was eating and bit down on my right side. A RADIATING pain shot through my jaw. I went to the dentist and had an x-ray taken. I was informed I had a "cementoma" and that it should not be causing me pain. Long story kind of short visit after visit after root canal after surgically removal of "stubby tooth" after wisdom teeth removal I am STILL having pain.

When I started the Chiari issues I had just dislocated my jaw and hit my head and the jaw pain was causing tooth pain. They thought I might be clenching at night so I ended up with a bite guard at night and it helped greatly with tooth pain! Since you have a tight neck with Chiari it just makes sense that it will also be jaw issues so maybe teeth? Just frustrating how much pain can be in the neck area! :) Good luck!

ve been experiencing severe tooth/jaw pain in my left jaw area. Back in October I had a cleaning and some xrays done, which showed nothing but an old amalgamate filling. The dentist replaced it with a composite filling, and all was fine. I had been experiencing some minor sensitivity on both sides to cold (sometimes) and sweets, but that's "normal", I guess.

Since early hours this morning ive had really bad Tooth and jaw pain then the pain went to the bottom of my jaw and the top of my head then it stopped then I had a bad jaw and earache then that stopped then I had a pain on the top bit of my nose to my head and so on, I got told that jaw pain in pregnancy but ive never met anyone who has had It, is this Normal it not becuse im in alot of pain and paracetamol never works!!

Even though if you still having pain then you can use jaw strengthening exercises or jaw stretching exercises to get relief from jaw pain.

afterwards, i felt somewhat okay, but about two to three days after i started to feel this uncomfortable pain in my lower jaw bone. the pain is felt in my jaw, my throat, my temple, my neck and my ear. i am having constant headaches. the painkillers do help to ease the pain and discomfort throughout the day, but at night it becomes intolerable and extremely uncomfortable, making sleeping quite the chore. i have been in pain for a few days now, and am worried as to what it may be.
