659608 tn?1318289366 It is however more than possible that you could have an infection in your jaw, say, from an impacted or infected wisdom tooth. Tooth pain can often make the ear and neck hurt as well (just as an ear infection can make the teeth hurt...). There is also the possibility that there is nothing wrong with you dentally either and you are suffering from neuralgic pain.
Avatar f tn Have you considered a dental problem or even sinus infection? The ache you get from angina is the same as the discomfort you feel from sinus infections, I've had both and couldn't tell the difference. I assumed I had an abscess but an xray revealed the sinus in my lower jaw was blocked due to infection. It is painful and theres a dull ache all the time.
Avatar f tn With some antibiotics, it should be able to clear up your sinus. If not, then you could rule out a sinus infection and look at the teeth again.
Avatar m tn It sounds as if you may have TMJ.Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Syndrome is hard to diagnose and will cause excuriating pain. Here are just some of the symptoms... Pain in the facial muscles and jaw joints may radiate to the neck or shoulders. Joints may be overstretched. You may experience muscle spasms from TMJ syndrome. You may feel pain every time you talk, chew, or yawn. Pain usually appears in the joint itself, in front of the ear, but it may move elsewhere in the skull, face, or jaw.
Avatar n tn They said it could be a sinus infection. I can believe the pain can possibly be that bad. It left. Now I have exactly the same thing on the other side of my mouth. It is in the lower jaw/ bone/tooth. They said it normally is in the upper teeth. Has anyone got any answers? I am 200 mile from a Dr This discussion is related to extreme tooth/jaw pain.
Avatar f tn Hi, combination of your ear pain and the jaw pain could be due to sinus congestion. There are many cases where individuals that suffering from sinus congestion also experience pressure in the ear, with earaches and even jaw pain. The earaches you are having may be an infection in the ear due to blocked sinuses. Other causes of aw pain can be due to infection of salivary gland like parotitis, infected foci, osteoporosis related jaw disarticulation or fracture.
587537 tn?1220104892 got that 5 day medican, a week later took extrays again and still tells me sinus infection. My nose fells clear, my ears do hurt and my jaw aches, along with swollen gums, only on right side. Started more medican and more pain pills. Now there is another "bone piece" coming thru gum and I can not get to it to pull out myself, this whole thing is driving me crazy. Please Help. Advise is welcome. I am running out of vacation and sick time from work, not to mention money.
Avatar f tn I had a Le Forte upper jaw surgery several years ago and am now having the plates and screws removed as a last resort to see if the screws are causing my severe and frequent sinus infections. I am wondering just how bad the recovery from this is, specifically how much pain, facial swelling, and facial numbness to expect.
Avatar f tn Have the Sam e thing.Got a sinus infection that infected my eye and caused upper jaw pain. And some in my ear.
Avatar n tn Ouch! From your symptoms (sinus pain and low-grade fever) I would have assumed that you have a moderate sinus/ear infection. Maybe you do, but your doctors are just too hesitant to prescribe antibiotics. I had similar symptoms a few weeks ago (1 degree fever, sinus headaches, always feeling warm, tired, previous sore throat, only slight sinus drip) and they prescribed antibiotics and it went away eventually.
Avatar f tn My symptoms are primarily on my right side only and I had a lot of ear pain and neck pain too. Most of my post nasal drip, pressure in my frontal sinuses have reduced, however I still have a strange lingering pressure in my head. Some days it's worse than others, and it's only one my right side. When I lay down at night it hurts behind my ear and wraps around to the back of my head (but still only on one side). I can't lay on that side at all, every single night.
Avatar n tn I WENT BACK AFTER 2 WEEKS FOR A FOLLOW-UP AND THE RESULTS FROM THE BIOPSY OF THAT AREA. IT REVEALED I HAD A BONE INFECTION IN MY JAW BONE. I WAS SENT TO AN INFECTIOUS DISEASE DOCTOR WHO PRESCRIBED IV THERAPY (AT HOME) FOR 6 WEEKS. I DID THIS EXACTLY AS I WAS TOLD. I WAS JUST ABOUT PAIN FREE FOR ABOUT 1 1/2 MONTHS. AT THE END OF APRIL, THE PAIN RETURNED. MY ORAL SURGEON CHECKED ME AGAIN, AS DID MY REGULAR DENTIST.

494996 tn?1209551293 the dentist cleaned the tooth out from decay and filled it. every since then i had pain in the join of my jaw and pain in the lower jaw and pain right over my eye. Now i am having pain in my right eye ear. could this be a sign of an sinus infection or could my my gum got infected. I also have pain in my mouth but not in the place where he filled it.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had a sinus infection while pregnant? If so, were you able to take anything? Im 11 weeks pregnant and beginning to feel miserable.
Avatar n tn It started as sinus headaches 2 months ago, then it turned into pressure all over my face and an earache with jaw pain. That was 3 weeks ago. Now it is jaw pain, dizziness, and sinus pressure. My ENT had a CT done and said my sinuses are basically clear but I have 2 small polyps in a cavity and teeth growing in y nasal cavity?...Apparently this is normal? But now I am severely depressed and anxious too. He seems to think all of this stemed from stress so he gave me valium.
Avatar m tn Seemed to think problem was other than tooth-- possible ear infection or sinus infection. He gave me two perscriptions. I then went to see my primary care Dr. who examined upper respiratory system. He seems to think I have a sinus infection but said it could also be start of shingles. He converted my dentist's perscriptions to vicodin, azithromycin, & MucinexD. Still much pain 12 hrs. later. Hope this stuff works. Your comments?
Avatar f tn It could be a sinus infection, migraine, or even TMJ. My guess would be a sinus infection. TMJ might be the easiest to experiment with first under your conditions, and it wouldn't hurt anything. See if a chiro can adjust your jaw. I was amazed at how quickly my headache, neck and shoulder pain went away after one adjustment - less than 10 minutes. I am very serious. I only recommend chiros for musculo-skeletal isssues.
Avatar m tn I have had a nagging pain in the back of my mouth for almost 3 months now. The pain is located in the hard palate area above my molars on the right side. Dental X-rays have revealed that nothing is wrong. My wisdom teeth are still intact, but 3 dentists and 2 oral surgeons have assured me that they do not need to come out and would not be causing the pain. The pain is like a sharp pressure in that area of my mouth. Almost feels like a sinus infection in that palate/gum region.
Avatar n tn who said this was a sinus infection. I searched online and did not find anything suggesting a sinus infection can be caused by a tooth extraction. I read Sinus Infection on Mayo Clinic 's website and it describe more serious immune system problems can cause it , now i am really freaking out. It has been about 7 days now , anyone got any opinions or advise ? I never had this before and if anyone has any opinions , please help.
Avatar f tn The day after the surgery, I had blood pouring out of my left nostril and developed and very nasty sinus infection. Antibiotics cleared up the infection but I continued to have pain and swelling. When the oral surgeon removed the protective covering from the bone graft, the next day I developed swelling on the roof of my mouth - the left side under my maxillary sinus - and developed purulent discharge from the bone graft area. More antibiotics - 5 additional courses - and that cleared up.
Avatar m tn I've been suffering from this agonizing pain in the roof of my mouth. The pain is centered around an area behind the back of my teeth, around my airway. It's gone on several months and I cannot get an answer as to why. I can hardly even eat because of the pain. My jaw is really weak as well. I'm not sure if this is from tmj or something else. I also have terrible headaches so maybe it is neurological?
Avatar n tn I'm at a loss & need some guidance.I've had recurring sinus infections off over the past year & have been treated w/antibiotics regularly (most recently was a month ago or less). Also have quite a few cavities. Recently I experienced some pain in my upper jaw/face/ear & head & couldn't tell if it was tooth related as it was also in a sinus region (near left side of nose)& my nasal/ear passages have been swollen lately as well.
Avatar f tn Sinusitis is an inflammation of the paranasal sinuses, which may or may not be as a result of infection from bacterial, fungal, viral, allergic or even autoimmune. It can be acute (less than four weeks), subacute (4-12 weeks) or chronic (for 12 weeks or more). All three types of sinusitis have similar symptoms, and are thus often difficult to distinguish.
