Avatar f tn s called) and when I went back he told me I had a really bad infection under the tooth in front of my bottom right wisdom tooth and it would need root canal treatment as the infection is really close to the jaw bone... I had no pain in that tooth but I thought back to a few months prior when I was having painful aches in my jaw, it felt like I couldn't open my mouth and so it made sense... Ok I said do it... but then he went ahead and removed the wisdom tooth behind the infected tooth...
Avatar m tn I recently had 2 infected teeth removed (4 days ago). It was a wisdom tooth and a molar next to each other. It seems to be healing okay. The pain in the extraction site and my jaw is getting better by the day. I have a hard ball of swelling there that feels hot to the touch. My question is, the tooth next to the ones that were removed was also in very bad shape - a lot of decay.
Avatar n tn The right eye tooth needed a root canal next, but the pain continues in the first implant. I went to an oral surgeon and he said the implant was infected and in my sinus cavity. This implant was removed. The my jaw did not heal correctly, because there were bone fragments and pus were the first tooth was removed, and implant. The second implant was pinching into my jaw and they was a notch there, and this implant was remove.
Avatar m tn In 2012 my #19 wisdom tooth became abscessed. I was in such enormous pain for a month and finally it became unbearable so I visited a new dentist who felt terrible for me so he numbed me up and yanked the wisdom tooth. a 3mm or less root tip was left behind. He flushed it and cleaned the socket but left the root tip. I went to OS who said "lets not wake a sleeping bear" FAST FORWARD 4 Years I'm having pain on my lower left jaw line in to my ear.
659608 tn?1318289366 It is however more than possible that you could have an infection in your jaw, say, from an impacted or infected wisdom tooth. Tooth pain can often make the ear and neck hurt as well (just as an ear infection can make the teeth hurt...). There is also the possibility that there is nothing wrong with you dentally either and you are suffering from neuralgic pain.
Avatar n tn Wisdom tooth pain can radiate and cause a lot of problems, especially if they become infected or are impacted. Fillings can also be sensitive after having them done. Especially ones where a white filling material is used due to the bonding materials used during treatment. It is reasuring that you Dentist has taken xrays which shows there is no apical infection present or any decay. If you still have problems I would go back to the Dentist you saw.
Avatar f tn I have to get a tooth extracted from the lower right just behind the canine, and it has a complicated history. Four years ago it got badly infected and my face blew up like a balloon. It took a loooong time to heal after the root canal treatment and retreatment, and has since not caused any pain. Recently, it was found to be (still painlessly) reinfected along with the surrounding jaw, and the endo can't save it.
Avatar f tn This might sound weird but are you sure its your tooth? There is a jaw pain that pregnant women can get, especially if you've had jaw displacement before. If you go to the dentist they can give you something for it.

494996 tn?1209551293 the dentist cleaned the tooth out from decay and filled it. every since then i had pain in the join of my jaw and pain in the lower jaw and pain right over my eye. Now i am having pain in my right eye ear. could this be a sign of an sinus infection or could my my gum got infected. I also have pain in my mouth but not in the place where he filled it.
Avatar f tn Have the Sam e thing.Got a sinus infection that infected my eye and caused upper jaw pain. And some in my ear.
Avatar f tn It felt like the tooth was stabbing me in the jaw with a knife. The tooth and jaw both hurt, from the joint to the nose and went as high up as the cheek bone. The pain was so bad, I couldn't do anything but lie in bed. I tried pain medication, Oragel, and everything else people suggested. The only thing that helped, I discovered on Saturday, was ice (and not talking or eating).
4922507 tn?1361076248 However since the extraction I am suffering from insomnia and just recently I have felt a pain increase. The pain isnt actually coming from the hole, nor is it an unbearable shooting pain, but a dull throbbing ache. A painful lump swelled up behind my ear and was painful and tender to touch, and my right lower jaw is very stiff, tender and also 'throbs'. The lump (which i believe from research is a lymph gland?
Avatar m tn it hurts me a lot and makes facial swelling. Please advice what drugs can reduce pain from the wisdom tooth. i dont want to have the tooth out. best regards!
Avatar m tn 5 days after the filling was done, I was still getting a lot of pain from both the tooth and my lower jaw. The tooth that was filled is extremely sensitive to the cold air test and the dentist suspects that there may be an infection in the tooth and has put me on a course of amoxycilin. (This seems plausable as there was a 10 day delay between my old filling breaking and being able to get it fixed). However I am still experiencing terrible pain in my lower jaw.
Avatar f tn The pain continued in my jaw, ear, above my left eye. Dentist and I decide to remove the tooth after 5 months of no relief. Still the pain continues. Now he's concerned that the tooth next to it may be a problem as well. Sending me back to the endodontist. I continue to have pain in my jaw, behind my ear (which is oozing fluid occassionaly) neck and above my left eye. Could the nerve that runs along the jaw have been damaged from the initial injection?
Avatar n tn She said if I was not dealing with TMJD issues she would try to retreat it - but she feels CERTAIN the pain is associated with the jaw and is all referred pain. My pain from the tooth radiates back to my jaw and the masseter muscle and trideminal nerve. She wants me to try to get the jaw issues under control first before retreating the tooth. She does not feel it is fractured further either - she tested the gumline etc.
Avatar n tn for this he gave me brufen 200mg, amoxicilin 500mg and flagyl 400mg, but still im havig sever pain in my lower left jaw where my wisdom tooth was extracted. when i met my doctor to remove the stiches i complained about my situataion, he said its normal as for the bone beeing drilled.
Avatar f tn Then again it might not be your root canal. The pain in your jaw might be from the number of times you were injected with Novocaine.
Avatar n tn SOMETIMES THE PAIN SEEMED MORE LIKE MY JAW BONE, AND TOOTH PAIN. MY DENTIST CHECKED THE BITE, AND TOOK X-RAY. I WENT SEVERAL TIMES, AND HE COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING. I WAS REFERRED TO AN ENDODONTIST WHO BASICALLY DID THE SAME THING. HE SAID THE ROOT CANAL WAS OK (FROM X-RAY) AND IF PAIN CONTINUED, I NEEDED TO HAVE THE TOOTH PULLIED. IN NOVEMBER 2007, MY DENTIST PULLED THE TOOTH. IT WAS VERY LARGE AND BROKE IN SEVERAL PIECES. IT TOOK HIM OVER AN HOUR TO REMOVE THE TOOTH.
1058622 tn?1254346187 yes the tooth is infected. from your story it sounds like there is not enough tooth structure left to put a crown on. if you have the tooth pulled you could get a bridge if surrounding teeth are in good condition or the best option an implant. implants are expensive and many insurances do not cover them. make sure you brush 2 times a day, floss, and get regular cleanings to counter act the genetic disposition to bad teeth.
Avatar n tn I don’t think there was anything wrong with the tooth in the first place, I think the pain started when my jaw became infected while the first dentist drilled out my old filling and put in the new one. Not to blame anyone, I just think that is what happened. I need help! The oral surgeon is acting like it is no big deal, and I am tired of yelling and crying. Any advice?
Avatar n tn s young and the teeth are somewhat straight, they may be able to provide antibiotics and see if the roots will move up more and get further away from the nerves. If not, permanent numbness may occur, going from the back of the jaw area to the lip.
Avatar n tn It certainly can be a dead nerve. You need to get an x-ray and have it treated.
Avatar f tn anywho went to the dentist recently for swelling in my face about 2 weeks ago he said he didnt like the looks of it but was unable to pull the infected tooth due to not being specialized in whatever so gave me antibiotics and sent an urgent report to a nearby hospital that claims they can't see me for another 6 months now after 2 weeks of antibiotics and the swelling going down I woke up to the whole side of my face from jaw to eye being swollen, throwing up and my nose is stuffed up.
Avatar m tn 3 days ago I was suppose to finish a root canal procedure my tooth is infected, I asked the dentist to numb me due to severe pain the first time it was done. When she did she inserted the needle into the top of my jaw, my tooth is on the back bottom left side of my jaw. Through out the whole dental procedure i didn't get numb and to my surprise it didn't hurt.
