jaw-pain

Avatar n tn m not sure if this is tooth or ear related. The pain is definately in my jaw, but I could not point to a specific tooth and the pain shoots up to my ear. I'll also try ibuprophen. Thanks for the comments!
Avatar n tn I know many people with this and it can cause headaches, neck pain, ear pain, all kinds of pain in your head/face area. First I would talk with your regular doctor then maybe a referral, if your doctor agrees, to someone who specializes in TMJ disorders. Please remember this is just a guess, so see your family doctor first OK. Good luck and let me know how it goes. Take care.
Avatar f tn I recommend going to the doctor... Sounds like severe sinus issue?
Avatar m tn hi i get jaw pain alot at night. i have a nite guard from the dentist but it doesnt always help. i get some bad headaches which is muscle pain as i get bothersome shoulders. and advil and tylenol dont help at all. the smornig i woke up and my left ear feels full. it was really itchy inside but only the outside of the ear hurts not the inside at all. i can feel that my jaw joint has like a knot in it. its the headaches i cant stand.
Avatar m tn It sounds as if you may have TMJ.Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Syndrome is hard to diagnose and will cause excuriating pain. Here are just some of the symptoms... Pain in the facial muscles and jaw joints may radiate to the neck or shoulders. Joints may be overstretched. You may experience muscle spasms from TMJ syndrome. You may feel pain every time you talk, chew, or yawn. Pain usually appears in the joint itself, in front of the ear, but it may move elsewhere in the skull, face, or jaw.
Avatar f tn i get a sharp pain behind my left ear it can last days in spasms comes lasts a few seconds then goes i get a few mins rest then it happens again today nothing so far but i would like to know what is causing it
Avatar f tn Sometimes i can barely open my mouth in morning to brush my teeth. It sometimes locks and sometimes causes ear pain. My dentist has referred me to a jaw specialist in London. Still waiting for the letter.
Avatar f tn I would suggest seeing a chiropractor. I have a bad disc at C5/C6 and when I get this, (also get jaw pain which can radiate into my ear) I go to my chiropractor and she fixes me right up. Good luck.
1759659 tn?1312975493 Two days ago I started to get this pain in my inner ear I have read up about the possibilities of which it could be ; Ear Infection, Swimmers Ear A Non-Burst Ear drum of a flight and a Burst Ear Drum since of these things I think that may have to go into way more detail. Firstly I was swimming in my pool under water when I heard water suction which went into my ear when I got out I tried to dispurse of this water.
Avatar f tn For years i had right jaw pain i am thinking tmj cause of bad dental work done and now i have horrible aching jaw and worst of all dull tight pressure temple pain. This ache worrys me more than the jaw. I am hoping its from the tmj. i have never been diagnosed seems like no doctor or dentist is interested in helping but is it normal to have the dull aching pressure in the ear and up to the temple and would a antiflamatory pill work to release the tense dull pressure.
Avatar f tn For 5 days now I have terrible pain in my jaw radiating to my ear(ear is fine teeth are fine)..I ve had it before but not for so long and not with it affecting my speech. Others say I dont talk any different but sometimes it feels funny like my teeth touch my tongue or as if my tongue is swollen. Whats going on? Is this permanent?
Avatar f tn For about 3 weeks now I have had severe pain in my right ear, my right side of my jaw, bad headaches, and chest pains. Nothing seems to ease the pain. I am just getting scared that it is leading to a serious issue. I am currently without medical too. Can this be something serious?
Avatar n tn I dont feel any pain until i open my jaw more than half way. My ear feels like theres a lot of fluid in it. I was thinking it might be an ear infection. But why would my jaw really hurt to open more than half way? It doesnt hurt when I chew either. Does anyone know what I might have?
Avatar f tn It feels tender and sore and it is only on my right ear. The pain seems to be concentrated around my ear. I am currently in Europe for six months, without health insurance. What should I do? For years and years, I would chew on hard items, like tops of water bottles ( I know gross habit )...and I have always been known to chew gum! So I think my TMD is a direct result to me not taking care of my jaw. I also have hypothyroid and take medication every day. Please help...
Avatar f tn What would cause my bite to shift to the right and pain at the joint of my jaw on the right? Could this change account for my having a constant eadache?
Avatar n tn For the past 3 weeks, I have had pain when chewing or biting down in my right ear and in that part of my jaw just below the temple. My dentist and orthodontist have said my jaw is disaligned in the past (I look normal though), but I have never had pain. My back molars do not touch when I bite, and my front teeth bite right together with no overbite at all. However, the pain has just now come and seems worse when I sleep on my face funny. Sometimes it is so bad that it is difficult to eat.
Avatar f tn s disease, otosclerosis, middle ear infections, wax in your ear canal and TMJ), or auditory nerve (which carries signals from your inner ear to your brain like acoustic neuroma), and side-effects of medicines (aspirin, quinine, some antibiotics etc). Tinnitus can also be stress related. Sometimes it can be a pulsatile tinnitus where you hear your own pulse.
Avatar f tn Pain below ear/in jaw began about 6 months ago. Tongue pain is recent, ear pain and sinus pain/congestion have increased from allergies but were present prior to allergen exposure. Lymph nodes in neck are perpetually swollen but worse in the last couple months (again, possibly allergies?). Other relevant/potentially relevant info: have reflux for which I am on Prilosec.
Avatar n tn The first root canal on #30 tooth was done on May 21 and then about five days later I started getting pain in the tooth area and thoughout my jaw area and into my ear. I went back to my endodonist who said it was not the tooth and then referred me to an oral surgeon/Maxillofacial dentist who said I was having jaw spasms due to the fact that I had two root canals done just a few days apart and my mouth was open for so long.
Avatar f tn I have had jaw pain for many days, only on one side, now i have ear and throat pain on the same side, and my jaw hurts so bad, like I had been punched (or so I assume) really har din the jaw. It hurts to eat, and I have pain in my ear and a sore throat.....can anyone give me advise? Bad sinuses? Time to go the Dr?
Avatar f tn Your temporomandibular joint is a hinge that connects your jaw to the temporal bones of your skull, which are in front of each ear. It lets you move your jaw up and down and side to side, so you can talk, chew, and yawn. Problems with your jaw and the muscles in your face that control it are known as temporomandibular disorders (TMD). But you may hear it wrongly called TMJ, after the joint. Causes of TMD We don’t know what causes TMD.
Avatar f tn I am concerned. I have ear pain, and dizziness with some jaw pain and some tingling in my arm and fingers.. This is Making my head feel like it's swimming. I have been to see my Dr. and he has put me on Methylprednisolone tablets. A six day dose. When I first started them the dizziness seem to go away. The pain in my left ear is better than my right one. I feel great when I wake up. I go to the gym and everything is fine but as the morning goes on I begin to get symptoms.
Avatar n tn The area of pain can stretch from the lower jaw area right up to my ear and can even give me neck pain. It causes pain when I open my mouth wide and always feels like the bones are 'clicking' and 'clunking' out of place. I have had phisio on the joint but that is only a stretch of the muscle and the pan is always present. None of the doctors I have seen can give me a strtaight answer.
Avatar m tn Physical therapy is not really doing anything. I still have ear pain, headaches, constant popping and crunching sounds in ear when talk and chew. Still dizzy, especially when I look around, and I have the occasional vertigo attack. I saw my dentist about this.. He said the most he can do is make a mouth guard (expensive) and I can try that for a while and see if it helps.
659608 tn?1318289366 It is however more than possible that you could have an infection in your jaw, say, from an impacted or infected wisdom tooth. Tooth pain can often make the ear and neck hurt as well (just as an ear infection can make the teeth hurt...). There is also the possibility that there is nothing wrong with you dentally either and you are suffering from neuralgic pain.
