It hurts to eat, and I have pain in my ear and a sore throat.....can anyone give me advise? Bad sinuses? Time to go the Dr?
Avatar n tn You know I may also be TMJ, that's what I have, the worst case. I get pain in my jaw, headaches, sometimes throat pain, and ear pain, and back pain, you'll know if you have it by pressure on your side jaw(both sides) Just my oppinion.
Avatar f tn Pain below ear/in jaw began about 6 months ago. Tongue pain is recent, ear pain and sinus pain/congestion have increased from allergies but were present prior to allergen exposure. Lymph nodes in neck are perpetually swollen but worse in the last couple months (again, possibly allergies?). Other relevant/potentially relevant info: have reflux for which I am on Prilosec.
Avatar f tn I say that because i have had a few dental issues such as wisdom teeth coming through, dead tooth and even TMG where my jaw aches and causes pain side of the head, neck and throat.
Avatar n tn Inside of my right tounge was sore , This morning i woke up my whole right side of my neck is sollowen and theres pain when i touch it on my neck where the glands and my jaw bone below my ear is sore . Help !?
Avatar n tn AT THE END OF APRIL, THE PAIN RETURNED. MY ORAL SURGEON CHECKED ME AGAIN, AS DID MY REGULAR DENTIST. IN ADDITION TO THE JAW PAIN, I WAS HAVING EAR PAIN, AND THE GUM AREA (WHERE THE TOOTH WAS) WAS VERY SORE. THE ORAL SURGEON REFERRED ME TO A GUM SPECIALIST WHO SAID MY GUM LOOKED OK, BUT I MIGHT NEED AN INPLANT. THE EAR PAIN CONTINUED, SO I WAS SENT TO AN ENT DOCTOR WHO SAID MY EAR LOOKED FINE.
Avatar m tn Sinus allergies also cause neck muscle tension and pain that spreads to the scalp, causes lymph nodes to swell and put pressure on nerves that cause ear and jaw pain. Allergies can trigger pain in the face, ear, neck, head/scalp and jaw/tmjd, as well as put pressure on the perotid glands and salivary glands. I've had some triggered by using prednisone to help treat sinus and lung infections.
387767 tn?1345872027 Ear pain, Jaw pain and Headaches can be due to TMJ ( Tempromandibular Joint Dysfunction). TMJ is common in patients with Fibromyalgia. Do you grind /clench your teeth at night? Do you mostly get this pain after waking up from sleep? Then most likely it's TMJ. Also, If your dentist mentions that you have some teeth-wear ( Attrition), then you are most likely grinding/clenching your teeth at night. Though I don't know what the reason could be for your throat closing up...
Avatar n tn I have severe throat pain on left side mainly underneath jaw and at bottom of throat. Seems to be set off by acidic foods, or swallowing bulky rough items. I have never had a sore throat like this before -- I have no other symptoms no cold, no runny nose, no cough etc. It has not gotten any better after a kind of 2 day onset 6 days ago. Yawning really hurts severely.
Avatar n tn It sounds like an ear infection to me. Your ears are connected to your nose and throat, so it's likely your jaw pain can be radiated pain from those areas. But I would definitely go and speak with a doctor about it, because letting an ear infection run without antibiotics, if it's not clearing up on its own, can be detrimental to your hearing.
Avatar n tn Today I saw my doctor who also could see no obvious signs of infection even though my ear and throat now hurt. He said something about neuralgia and to go and see him on Monday if things don’t improve. Any idea as to what’s going on would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn For the past 3 weeks, I have had pain when chewing or biting down in my right ear and in that part of my jaw just below the temple. My dentist and orthodontist have said my jaw is disaligned in the past (I look normal though), but I have never had pain. My back molars do not touch when I bite, and my front teeth bite right together with no overbite at all. However, the pain has just now come and seems worse when I sleep on my face funny. Sometimes it is so bad that it is difficult to eat.
2112219 tn?1334286044 I get similar, I have had a dry cough for months now , my eyes are sore and itchy, scratchy throat, ear pain in and behind the ear and other aches and pains , fatigue.I have now come to the conclusion doing some research its allergies caused by environmental factors .They are doing a lot and by a lot I mean every day aerial spraying you can see the trails up there, if you do some research you will see what it is they are spraying .
Avatar n tn I dont feel any pain until i open my jaw more than half way. My ear feels like theres a lot of fluid in it. I was thinking it might be an ear infection. But why would my jaw really hurt to open more than half way? It doesnt hurt when I chew either. Does anyone know what I might have?
Avatar f tn What would cause my bite to shift to the right and pain at the joint of my jaw on the right? Could this change account for my having a constant eadache?
Avatar f tn Hello and hope you are doing well. The ear pain could be due to the throat infection. There are tubes called 'Eustachian tubes' which connect the middle ear to the throat, this balances the air pressure in the ears. This tube can get blocked due to infections of the throat, which can give lead to a feeling of fullness in the ears. This can also result in infection of the ears.
Avatar m tn Thank u for ur suggestion. I dont rembr if I posted this in my symptoms, but when I 1st went into the E.R.(same 1 w/ the medical college) I saw a resident ENT that was on staff @ that time & he was able to get me into the speciallty clinic ASAP & then I was able to see 1 of the speciallty ENT doctors(not just residents). When I was in the E.R. & the ENT res.
237053 tn?1258828426 ear pains... i also suffered from ear pain, well what i thought was ear pain... it ended up being my jaw joint was inflammed. I would look into that.
Avatar n tn The area of pain can stretch from the lower jaw area right up to my ear and can even give me neck pain. It causes pain when I open my mouth wide and always feels like the bones are 'clicking' and 'clunking' out of place. I have had phisio on the joint but that is only a stretch of the muscle and the pan is always present. None of the doctors I have seen can give me a strtaight answer.
Avatar n tn m not sure if this is tooth or ear related. The pain is definately in my jaw, but I could not point to a specific tooth and the pain shoots up to my ear. I'll also try ibuprophen. Thanks for the comments!
659608 tn?1318289366 It is however more than possible that you could have an infection in your jaw, say, from an impacted or infected wisdom tooth. Tooth pain can often make the ear and neck hurt as well (just as an ear infection can make the teeth hurt...). There is also the possibility that there is nothing wrong with you dentally either and you are suffering from neuralgic pain.
13530588 tn?1439495715 yes ok thanks ,,,I did not want to think it was tmj because I have no problem chewing ,,,I get achy in the area of the jaw joint at times due to the gland being sore ,, but not clicking or locking happens ,, soreness under ear ,, when it it first occurred it felt like I had a bruise on side of face at jaw joint to my ear up to around my temple ,, seemed more like an infection because in middle of sleep I kept waking from throat irritation like something was draining from my ear to my throat from
Avatar f tn Now im having deep throat pain on my right side everytime i swallow including the jaw and inner ear pain at once. That pain in my throat hurts whn i turn my head to the left but not the right. The pain is literally one the right side. this is all becoming too much. It wont go away and im a little worried irritated and becoming agitated with the whole thing. Im am just giving up on going to the doctor and hear the same thing about the inflammation.
Avatar m tn i have had experience with sore throat but in my case it was infection on my tonsils (pus) .I had them removed 2 years ago after a really bad episode when my jaw was stiffed that I couldn't open my mouth more than 1 cm and had extreme pain on my right side of the throat ,ear and maxilar...and only the third dr taht saw me could actualy spotted what was wrong - an abces behind the right tonsil.
Avatar n tn The most likely cause for pain along the jaw - if you have ruled out dental pain - is, indeed, Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN). The pain of TN can be one of the most severe pains known. This usually indicates an MS lesion somewhere from the brainstem to along the Trigeminal nerve which is one of the Cranial nerves. It usually is severe stabbing pains which come with some sort of stimulation.
