190673 tn?1259203266 I get headache that is mainlyon the back of my head and when I apply something cold to my jaw area the headache usually goes away. But I have read that TMJ can cause dizziness, anxiety etc while contrary to that, some people claim it cannot. Can someone with knowledge tell me the symptoms of TMJ and does it cause anxiety or vice versa?
Avatar f tn I am quite sure if it was an ear infection, you would be feeling very sick by now with a fever, and the pain would be more localized( in your ear itself) not as a headache pain. In this case, you should get an opinion from your dentist. If it is TMJ he will be able to help you better than your reg. MD.
146298 tn?1258712247 They go from my eye to my jaw and specific points of pain are jaw, base of skull, top of skull, behind ear, where shoulder meets neck. When I have such a headache I am very dizzy, technically it's vertigo. After the ache has begun my nostril slowly closes itself and adds a bit to the pressure, but I've had sinus headaches and this is different. Something in my head seems to be swelling and blocking the nasal passage rather than the nasal passage being blocked and causing the pain.
Avatar m tn -Refractive error in vision -Bright light -Sinitus/rhinitis -Insomnia -Fatigue -Anxiety/depression -Blow to head -TMJ (jaw-related)
Avatar n tn Sinusitis, refractive errors of the eye, migraine, cluster headaches, brain tumors, high blood pressure, tension headaches, temporal arteritis, pinched cervical spinal nerve, TMJ, poor or disturbed sleep etc are several causes of headaches. Dental pain and ear ache due to infection or impacted wax can cause similar symptoms. Needless to say, a persisting headache should be investigated. Please consult a headache and migraine specialist to rule out these causes one by one. Take care!
Avatar f tn See if a chiro can adjust your jaw. I was amazed at how quickly my headache, neck and shoulder pain went away after one adjustment - less than 10 minutes. I am very serious. I only recommend chiros for musculo-skeletal isssues. I highly recommend them as somethinge to try for TMJ and sciatic nerve issues. Other that, I pretty much stay away from them. It might be both TMJ and a sinus infection though. Feel better.
Avatar f tn What would cause my bite to shift to the right and pain at the joint of my jaw on the right? Could this change account for my having a constant eadache?
Avatar n tn like today i can feel a sharp pain at the left side n now its the right back of my head.. can some one plz advise mi...
12912879 tn?1427855072 I had the worst toothache on my left side which became jaw pain on the left side. After taking antibiotics the tooth and jaw pain slowly slightly faded with just a small toothache 1 or 2 times per week. However the eye and head pain and waking up with headaches and the horrible constant pain on my left side started maybe a few weeks after ky toothache went away. So its probably unrelated but just throwing that out there. Please help me.

Avatar n tn I do receive relief from oxcarbazepine (Trileptal) and lamotrigine (Lamictal),but they seem to be losing their impact. The pain and headache are so severe I can barely stand it. What could this be? Any thoughts on what to do?
Avatar f tn I also have a continuous ear pain and have a headache all day and night. At night it causes me to wake up and the headache is so bad I feel sick to my stomach. It hurts worse to lay on my right side also. The pain is to the point that I can't even fall asleep without taking something to help knock me out. HELP!!!!!!! I read that it could be a blockage in my salivary gland due to stones of some sort, but I'm desperate for a more direct opinion.
Avatar f tn Your pain may be due to a combination of factors, such as genetics, arthritis or jaw injury. Some people who have jaw pain also tend to clench or grind their teeth, although many people habitually clench or grind their teeth and never develop TMJ disorders. In most cases, the pain and discomfort associated with TMJ disorders is temporary and can be relieved with self-managed care or nonsurgical treatments.
Avatar n tn Hold on, opening that jaw causes the pain in the back of my head to be right next to my right ear.... Could that be TMJD?
Avatar n tn Hello Dear, There Could be different causes for the headache like trigeminal neuralgia, tension headache, spondylosis, head injury, sinusitis etc.You should consult a physician and find out the cause so that the treatment can be decided. For relieving pain you can take ibuprofen or some NSAID . Regular exercise will help you cope with pain.
Avatar n tn This is due to an inflammation in the temporal artery and other arteries in the body. Symptoms include one sided headache pain in the temple and jaw that may be triggered by chewing. This condition can be diagnosed by a blood test called an ESR and a biopsy of the artery. It is very important to rule this diagnosis out as it is highly treatable and if left untreated it can lead to vision loss. It is exceedingly rare in people younger than 55, and is more common in even older age groups.
1232362 tn?1333135406 I kept telling everyone it was my JAW. I had pain in my jaw and it would shoot up into my brain and then cause a serious migraine. All they wanted to do was put me on this awful medication that I hated and it did nothing to relieve pain in jaw and head. Finally I went on the internet and researched about Jaw and Migraines and found 2 Drs. in my area that treated that very problem. I called, made an appt. The Dr. was my hero.
Avatar m tn joints in this area, which can cause severe headaches, eye/jaw pain, numbness in the tongue, or other strange pains and feelings around the head. The click in the neck has probably stopped because a joint that was moving abnormally is now stuck. This can lead to gradually worsening headache and other symptoms. The joints just need to be unstuck. Furthermore, I have to urge you away from using adderall recreationally.
Avatar f tn ve had an ongoing headache for about 3 weeks now, I have been to the doctor twice, and was given Naproxen, which disagreed with me, I was told to relax, my jaw is in spasm, the headache wakes me at night, and the pain doesnt stay in the same place, yesterday it was around my left ear and jaw, this morning its at the back of my head. Has anyone got any suggestions to help it?
Avatar f tn My oral surgeon suggested some exercises I could do and it did help a little. The instant headache pain i had went away because the regular jaw joint pain I was having suddenly didn't reach my right eye . I have had no improvement since and my o/s wants me to start therapy. Will this help ? Starting to think there will be no end to this , each meal is painful , getting really sick of this.
Avatar f tn I got this headache on the right side of my head and it was a really bad sharp pain and I was chewing gum and the whole side of my jaw are face hurt really bad and got really tense pain effected my whole half side of my head and I got a nose bleed what could cause this??
Avatar f tn Hi. How are you? TMJ headaches usually present with muscle-contraction type of pain, sometimes accompanied by a painful "clicking" sound on opening the jaw. With the normal results on your MRI, you may indeed benefit from further evaluation by a neurologist to rule out other neurological issues. A headache journal may also help identify possible triggers, such as environmental or work-related, that you could avoid.

Avatar n tn This happens when I eat, after I eat the pain goes from the chin clear up the side of my jaw into my head and causes me headaches. The pain does subside, but then it comes back again. I had two root canals done on these teeth also, but the problem started before the root canals from the inferior work of the crowns. I never had such trouble with my bite or pain anywhere until I had crowns placed in my mouth.
Avatar n tn what causes me to have pain on the right side of my jaw (upper) and when i get this pain i also get headache and pain behind my right eye. This has been going on for the last few months.
1586189 tn?1297099435 but tonight I have a pounding headache on the front right side, down into my eye and bottom jaw. Does GCA ease up at times? Come and Go? If you were to have a biopsy done, does it have to be when I am having a bad headache ect?
Avatar n tn The area of pain can stretch from the lower jaw area right up to my ear and can even give me neck pain. It causes pain when I open my mouth wide and always feels like the bones are 'clicking' and 'clunking' out of place. I have had phisio on the joint but that is only a stretch of the muscle and the pan is always present. None of the doctors I have seen can give me a strtaight answer.
Avatar f tn It felt as if the joint pain was moving, started in right elbow with a deep sharp pain and next was in left knee then left ankle tendon. Both calves hurt as if by vigorous exercise and were tender to the touch. By the weekend of March 10th it was in right ankle and shin bone-then right knee. Joints and muscles remain weakened and mildly achy even after the sharp pain subsides.
