Avatar n tn Hold on, opening that jaw causes the pain in the back of my head to be right next to my right ear.... Could that be TMJD?
Avatar n tn Stimulation of the internal carotid artery causes pain along the artery that is sometimes accompanied by pain in the eye and parietal cephalalgia. These symptoms can result in wrong diagnoses, such as cluster headache or migraine. Symptoms may also include aphasia, sight disturbances, weakness or even syncope episodes. Stimulation of the external carotid artery causes facial pain, mainly in the area under the eyes.
Avatar n tn what causes me to have pain on the right side of my jaw (upper) and when i get this pain i also get headache and pain behind my right eye. This has been going on for the last few months.
Avatar n tn The area of pain can stretch from the lower jaw area right up to my ear and can even give me neck pain. It causes pain when I open my mouth wide and always feels like the bones are 'clicking' and 'clunking' out of place. I have had phisio on the joint but that is only a stretch of the muscle and the pan is always present. None of the doctors I have seen can give me a strtaight answer.
Avatar n tn There is no typical cardiogenic chest pain, which is crushing precordial pain radiating to the jaw, arm and neck, relieved with sublingual nitrates. other possibilities for the muscle spasms can be chest injuries, previous chest surgery, possible culprit, any history of athletics, stress fractures , pulled chest muscles. Fibromyalgia is an important condition of chronic fatigue which causes severe muscle pain, with muscle spasms in chest.

655091 tn?1224364431 Trigeminal neuralgia (TN), or Tic Doloureux, (also known as prosopalgia) is a neuropathic disorder of the trigeminal nerve that causes episodes of intense pain in the eyes, lips, nose, scalp, forehead, and jaw.[1] It is estimated that 1 in 15,000 people suffer from trigeminal neuralgia, although those numbers may be significantly higher due to frequent misdiagnosis. This does not mention the shoulder pain, but I saw this during some research for myself....
Avatar f tn Hi. How are you? TMJ headaches usually present with muscle-contraction type of pain, sometimes accompanied by a painful "clicking" sound on opening the jaw. With the normal results on your MRI, you may indeed benefit from further evaluation by a neurologist to rule out other neurological issues. A headache journal may also help identify possible triggers, such as environmental or work-related, that you could avoid.
Avatar n tn even though his asthma is gone it can still be mild and cause some chest pain. is there any chance the jaw pain is seperate and not only occuring during chest pain (maybe he has two seperate things going on, like a tooth problem and something else). im sure he will be ok but please get the tests incase it is something more serious! good luck!
Avatar m tn Can someone just explain why i would feel pain in my head when i tap my jaw with my hand. Anywere on my jaw if i hit it with my hand i feel a jolt of pain in my head?? But i can move my jaw around perfectly so i know its not a jaw problem its almost like something is vibrating into my skull when i hit my jaw.
Avatar n tn When it layed down for bed the pain seemed to get more intense through-out the bottom jaw and all teeth in the bottom of my mouth.Ive rubbed bonjela all over the area several times. It has made my gums numb but my teeth are still aching alot.I cant bite down on them, any kind of mouth movement causes great pain. i have no decay visible and i cant feel anything out of the ordinary.
Avatar f tn This can cause pain in whole of head and neck region. Glands in neck and temporal bone pain can be due to this. I would suggest you consult a dentist and an ENT specialist soon. Maybe your PVP can arrange it. If there is no problem in the teeth and ear, then there is a chance that you have compression of cervical spinal nerves due to overuse of computers, work involving straining of neck, canal stenosis, bone disease, spondylosis, poor posture etc.
Avatar m tn My 80 year old mother has started this almost constant "chewing" type jaw movements. Does this have anything to do with Parkinson's? She was at a neurologist today for pain in both of her hands and diagnosed with severe carpal tunnel and he noticed a constant twitching in her left thumb. He did some other neurological testing and said she might have the beginnings of Parkinson's. i didn't think to tell him of this jaw movement.
Avatar f tn sometimes, the pain in my teeth makes me feel like my jaw is out of alignment. and sometimes I have pain that radiates up my jaw into my ears and in my cheekbones some days, they drive me crazy, but other days they won't bother me at all. I never suspected it being a nerve problem until doing a lot of reading... I just always assumed it was because I needed braces or the grinding. Does it sound like it could be trigeminal neuralgia at all? Or more like an old fashioned tooth problem?
977806 tn?1249067346 Took 2nd shot this past Wednesday. Have actually had jaw pain off and on but really thought it was a dental problem but am thinking more along the lines of Sx now because it is in both jaws. I emailed my doctor earlier today. Has anyone else had jaw pain. Both jaws have been effected and right now it is throbbing a bit. I emailed to ask my doctor if I should go and see a dentist anyway even though it may be due to the drugs.
Avatar n tn His eye is fine, no damage to cornea. He has been taking Valtrex. Now he has a stiff neck and jaw pain. Is this part of the shingles? Thank you.
Avatar f tn Sometimes i can barely open my mouth in morning to brush my teeth. It sometimes locks and sometimes causes ear pain. My dentist has referred me to a jaw specialist in London. Still waiting for the letter.
Avatar n tn s know if you have ever had braces before, but if so, or if you grind your teeth, there is a very good chance you might have TMJ. It causes severe jaw pain because the jaw is not aligning correctly. If it is, you generally can not open your mouth as far due to tightening or sometimes you can even feel or hear it pop.
Avatar n tn This website has the best explanation that I have seen. http://www.aafp.org/afp/20050815/623.html Yes, your tests indicate you are hyperthyroid. Now you and your Drs. need to determine the cause. When I had a hot nodule, my biggest complaint was pain in my tooth, jaw and ear. I don't think that dental work caused the thyroid condition. I do believe that my enlarged thyroid put pressure on a nerve causing the pain. It seems a strange coincidence about the crown though.
Avatar f tn A dental examination and X-rays are important for correct diagnosis and management of your condition. Jaw swelling can be due to many causes. It could possibly be due to spread of infection to the jaw or enlarged lymph nodes. Among the possible issues is a tooth abscess or tooth injury. A visit to the dentist may help. Keep me posted.
Avatar n tn The pain is still mainly in my jaw but I have noticed that hot/cold causes the pain in my jaw to intensify so I am not sure if the pain in my jaw is just pain radiating from my tooth. Any thoughts on if it is just a pulpitis situation and may calm down without further work being done? Thank you.
