Avatar m tn Thank Your for your input. I don't know where to begin. You say you had pain in your mouth prior to the surgery and worst after surgery, right? Well, I am not having any pain in my jaw, gum or wisdom tooth right now. It's too bad you are having too much pain and taking painkillers and antibiotics for it. When I open my jaw wide I hear little bone noises from my jaw.
Avatar n tn 1. Is it normal for the bone to be exposed after the surgery? 2. Why am I feeling pain when I drink? and 3. Should I see someone about the tooth being exposed still?
Avatar n tn I am having diffculties opening my mouth because of the pain and soreness. What I need to know is this normal to have pain in the jaw area after a wisdom tooth extraction? And if so, how long should I expect to experience this pain?
Avatar n tn s a much rarer occurence after wisdom tooth surgery. Seeing a tmj specialist to manually reduce the disc is advised.
Avatar n tn I have had my wisdom tooth extracted from the lower jaw without surgery a week ago, the tooth was partially erubted. the first day the bleeding didn't stop for about 12 hours after the procedure, and after two days I had severe pain and my jaw next to the extracted tooth got so stiff and my mouth would't open easily. I took ibuprofen for the pain and it worked(400mg for 3times aday), but my jaw is still locked and I can hardly open it to eat.
Avatar m tn A week has gone by from all four impacted wisdom teeth were surgically removed. My jaw on the right side feels like it is locked. I can only open my jaw 1 inch. When I try to open it farther I get excruciating pain and it won't open. Left side is fine. I was very swollen the first three days after surgery. What should I do?
Avatar m tn It got to a point where I would get fevers and headaches and some jaw pain. After the root canal I noticed those symptoms still. It went away after about 1.5 months. I guess maybe your husband's brain is still creating those symptoms and it could be his sub-conscious mind. It could also be something else but this is definitely a possibility. Hope he gets well soon.

Avatar n tn 2 weeks ago my doctor took out my wisdom tooth and after the procedure I was not able to open my mouth to its full potential I can only open it about one cm wide and the whole right side of my face hurts when I try to open my mouth fully. My doctor wants to put me to sleep to correct the problem. I'm just kind of nervous as to what he's going to do.. Do you think this is a good idea? Also what do you think cause the problem in the first place? Could it be nerve damage?
Avatar n tn 7 years ago I was eating and bit down on my right side. A RADIATING pain shot through my jaw. I went to the dentist and had an x-ray taken. I was informed I had a "cementoma" and that it should not be causing me pain. Long story kind of short visit after visit after root canal after surgically removal of "stubby tooth" after wisdom teeth removal I am STILL having pain.
Avatar n tn for this he gave me brufen 200mg, amoxicilin 500mg and flagyl 400mg, but still im havig sever pain in my lower left jaw where my wisdom tooth was extracted. when i met my doctor to remove the stiches i complained about my situataion, he said its normal as for the bone beeing drilled.
Avatar n tn My fiancee had oral surgery to remove a wisdom tooth which had its root wrapped around a nerve. Well it's been 5 days since his surgery and he can't open his mouth up to even eat, and not to mention his face is swollen bad. He woke up in the middle of the procedure, so they had to continue without giving him anything for the pain. We were wondering if it is normal for someone not to be able to open up there mouth after this procedure.
Avatar m tn I just got home and uploaded the xray.In this Xray of my mouth you can see the mass I am talking about in the upper right hand corner right next to the wisdom tooth. It's not even causing me pain, should I still have it done? So scared lol. The doctor told me it's a fifth wisdom tooth. http://i.imgur.com/ChrJJBK.
Avatar f tn It is caused by the loss of the blood clot in the area of the extracted tooth within the first few days after surgery .It causes radiating pain to ear , temple and cheek, pain of adjacent teeth and jaw, foul taste and smell etc.If there is swelling also there is possibility of some infection. Schedule an appointment with your dentist. A dental examination will be helpful. I hope it helps. Best wishes and kind regards!
1415174 tn?1453243103 I just found that I have a hard bony projection on the tongue side of my lower left gum tissue where I had my wisdom tooth extracted 3 years ago. I do not have any pain and the area is not open or infected. The tongue is being damaged by the projection in area though. I have an appointment next week with the dentist to find out what it is but I am a bit scared or nervous as to what it is and what they will do to remove it.
Avatar n tn My father just had his wisdom tooth removed. The root had grown around his jaw bone so they had to surgically remove it. now he has a foul smell and the dentist says the bone is exposed. I'm hoping he doesn't get a bone infection? could this happen, and how will they fix that? This discussion is related to abcesses and jaw bone infection.
Avatar n tn For a couple of months now, I have been experiencing pain/pressure on the right side of my face-sinus, ear, and back of my jaw-that would come and go. I also had a wisdom tooth that had recently cut through on that side so I figured that was the cause. I went to a dentist to see if she thought anything was wrong with my wisdom tooth, but she said that it was pericoronitis causing my pain. She gave me a referral to an oral surgeon anyways since it was so far back that it was difficult to clean.
Avatar n tn I only had two wisdom teeth, both on the bottom. In the days before the surgery I had some eruption pain, and the teeth were fully impacted, and I had some mild tinnitus. However, after I got them out, the tinnitus has gotten much worse. I feel pressure in my ears often, and my surgeon said that in some cases the pressure from the swelling will put pressure on the ears and cause the tinnitus. It's been a week since the surgery however and I still have the tinnitus.
Avatar f tn hope you can help... I went to the dentist recently and dentist said that I had some decay on my wisdom teeth and that he wanted to pull them to stop infection and spreading he sent me to get an opg xray (I think that's what it's called) and when I went back he told me I had a really bad infection under the tooth in front of my bottom right wisdom tooth and it would need root canal treatment as the infection is really close to the jaw bone...
