Avatar m tn Hi, I'm 22 years old guy and just had my first filling done as I had developed deep cavity. So.. After dentist finished job, he told me that I'll have tooth pain/tooth sensitivity for the few days, because he opened pulp ( or something else ) to look if it's healthy out there - It was very healthy out there, but he told me this tooth nerve can get inflamed at anytime and I'll need root canal.
Avatar n tn i had a deep filling done yesterday and although i have taken 4 painkillers this morning nothing seemsto help the deep aching jaw pain andin top of cheek This discussion is related to pain and sensitivity after filling on different tooth.
Avatar n tn After getting this tooth and the one behind it re-filled, I started having pain that night and especially the next day. I went back to the dentist a couple days later and they took x-rays and found nothing wrong, put me on penicillin just in case an infection was starting. Still no pain in the tooth or the one behind it; but severe pain in the jaw and ear and glands in the neck.
Avatar f tn Even though if you still having pain then you can use jaw strengthening exercises or jaw stretching exercises to get relief from jaw pain.
Avatar n tn When the anaesthetic wore of I had the most excruciating pain in the tooth and jaw. I went to my dentists and told him about the pain and he game me amoxycillian 250mg for 5 days and took out filling, re cleaned the tooth and filled it. The pain continued after taking 5 antibiotics and 400mg ibuprofens. Went to A&E early hours of morning pain so bad. Went back to dentists he took out my tooth and said I did not need antibiotics anymore as infection if present will drain out.
Avatar m tn I also had fillings on the same jaw soon after as well. The gum pain worsened after 3 weeks from the initial deep cleaning and is now also in the jaw. However, initially after the deep cleaning the pain was reduced for a couple of days. The dentist believes this is cause by night teeth grinding, but don't think so. The pain starts at night while I am still awake and becomes worse when I lay down.
Avatar n tn There was some decay around the old filling so that was drilled as well and the tooth filled. I had some pain off and on, but the pain wasn't localized to the filled tooth - it radiated over that entire side of my mouth, from the middle to the back, top and bottom, my gums ache and my jaw hurts up into my ear drum.
Avatar n tn Going back to your dentist to have occlusal adjustment is advised.
Avatar n tn Seeing an endodontist and periodontist to evaluate pulpal and periodontal status is advised. If there is no evidence of pulpal and periodontal infection, seeing an occlusionist or prosthodontist to adjust occlusion is advised.
Avatar n tn The dentist flossed around the crown and between the tooth with the new filling and I instantly felt pain. The pain goes all the way down to the jaw. I told the dentist and he said it should go away in a few days. I do not understand how it felt fine before, and now it is in pain. I would appreciate any help because now I am fearful of going back.
Avatar n tn Sometimes after getting a shot in the area near the tooth, there will be pain for a couple of days after. My gum swelled and was sore for atleast 4 days after my fillings were done. It does go away.
Avatar f tn I was not having any trouble with my tooth but the new dentist that I went to said that my amalgam filling had leaking margins and decay under the filling so we needed to do an onlay to prevent a root canal and crown later. She did the onlay and since that time I have had toothaches (throbbing) unless I take Ibuprofin 800mg every 6-8 hours. I have avoided eating on that side of my mouth. I do have an exposed root at the gumline on that tooth and have very sensitive teeth to begin with.
Avatar n tn My jaw pain is on left side only - same side as tooth. My crown was placed on tooth with temporary cement and left like that for months - but the off and on discomfort remained. It is NOT same pain I experienced when it was cracked - - it is on the sides only and almost feels like it is loose - yet dentists have examined it and say it is not loose. Also - most of the time when the tooth hurts, my jaw (on left only) hurts - the pain goes back to from of ear area.
Avatar m tn I had to undergo a root canal when my tooth was so decayed that part of it chipped away. It got to a point where I would get fevers and headaches and some jaw pain. After the root canal I noticed those symptoms still. It went away after about 1.5 months. I guess maybe your husband's brain is still creating those symptoms and it could be his sub-conscious mind. It could also be something else but this is definitely a possibility. Hope he gets well soon.
Avatar f tn Hello, It t is normal to experience jaw pain and other effects after a filling. However this pain usually does not last long and you can take some over-the-counter pain killers. Other causes could be either the restoration is too high causing excessive pressure on that tooth. It is possible to have some sensitivity from the white composite filling chemicals used .If the symptoms are severe and persistent see your dentist and get evaluated. I hope you find this information useful.
Avatar n tn ve been experiencing severe tooth/jaw pain in my left jaw area. Back in October I had a cleaning and some xrays done, which showed nothing but an old amalgamate filling. The dentist replaced it with a composite filling, and all was fine. I had been experiencing some minor sensitivity on both sides to cold (sometimes) and sweets, but that's "normal", I guess.
Avatar n tn Ok ive had fillings on my bottom molars on the right and left side of my mouth, i went last year to my dentist for a re filling for both, soon after that i started getting a sharp pain only on my right upper molar above the bottom one which i just got the filling.
