januvia

Avatar n tn If it continues past a week, I suggest speaking to your doctor about possible side effects form the medication, or work-up of GI illnesses that are sometimes more common in people with diabetes. In the meantime try to stay hydrated and stay with bland foods. Take care.
194838 tn?1303428544 Hi, I recently posted about severe side effects I was experiencing with the drug Januvia , I had severe stomach pains and sore throat. My doctor has now prescribed Galvus and said they are from the same family as Januvia. Has anybody tried this drug? if so did you experience any side effects ,especially stomach pains? . It may sound stupid but I am a little scared to take Galvus after what happened before.

Avatar f tn Drooling or excess salivation happens in infancy and then we learn to overcome this as our swallowing reflex improves. Medications can dry out the secretions but you may have side effects, like dry throat. And as medications cannot be used indefinitely the best bet would be to voluntarily control this. Try to swallow the excessive saliva periodically, though initially it is a conscious effort, overtime it will become a habit which will control your symptoms effectively. Good Luck.
Avatar n tn Diabetes type 3 is also known as diabetes type 1.5 or LADA [Latent Autoimmune Disease in Adults]. I will send you private message with information that will help you. The medication you're on helps type 2 patients and may not be suited for you. The best thing you can do to help your self is test, test, test your blood glucose. Test before a meal to get a reference range. Then test 2-3 hours after a meal to see how the foods you consumed affected your blood glucose levels.
Avatar m tn I do not eat before exercise at five thirty every day. I am taking metformin glimperide januvia and atenolol for my high blood pressure. Before i exercise blood sugars are 156. After exercise they go to 226. Why? I take my meds about fifteen minutes before my exercise routine. Blood sugars continusously drop as the day goes on. before dinner time they can be 100. after eating they drop to 60 sometimes.
Avatar n tn Eating some food usually helps with these side effects. You can ask your doctor to be certain if this could help your side effects. Plus you could discuss changing meds. BTW There is a combination pill Janumet that c ombines Metformin and Januvia. This may be helpful to you as well.
Avatar f tn They are not controlling my diabetes. She wanted me to try Victoza and give up the Januvia. I got over fear of giving myself the shot, but on the 3rd day I began to get sick. On the 4th and 5th days I couldn't even go to work. Changed shot to before bed instead of morning and it made no difference. After a little over a week I stopped it. Lost 5 lbs cause I couldn't eat anything. So she said she may have me try Lantus if Victoza didn't work.

Avatar f tn The pain is in both feet and ankles. I take five neurontin and a januvia every day because of postprandial high glucose numbers. I've had peripheral neuropathy and diabetes 2 for about 7 years now. I see a neurologist, endocrynologist, podiatrist and my primary doctor and so far no real answers.

Avatar n tn I've been dealing with gerd issues for the last half year. Colonoscopy and endoscopy were negative. I did do a series of rolling barium stomach xray which did show my stomach was on a roller coaster ride. I've been on most of the meds for gerd, from Zantac to Nexium to Lansoprazole to Pantoprazole. In December I started to develope numbness in my left foot and right hand. (Last night I noticed my left anke was swollen.
Avatar n tn t find any information out there to help me balance these evils (diabetes and allergies) against each other. When I was eating the foods I'm allergic too I had debilitating diarhea and a continuous runny nose and chest conjestion. I'm glad to have those gone. I guess the question is which will kill me first: diabetes or food allergies. Any resources out there for diabetes with food allergies?
Avatar n tn I take daily Glucophage 500 x 2, Januvia 100, Actos 30 (newly prescribed), Lisinopril 40, Amlodopine 10 (newly prescribed), and HCTZ 25. What do you think is the cause of my pain? Thanks.
Avatar n tn I'm a type 2 diabetic, but am not, and never have been, overweight. It runs in my family, on both sides. My last A1C was 11. I take Invokana and Januvia. Since last month, I've changed my diet the best way I know how. I only have 1 starch a day, and that's a whole wheat starch, 1 serving of fruit, and the rest is veggies, nuts, and seeds. BUT, my readings are still high at times. What else can I do? I go back in another week for another A1C and I really want it to be better.
Avatar f tn Anyway within the last year or so her urine has started to smell REALLY bad when she goes to the bathroom it smells up the whole side of the house and it lingers really long, sprays and scented candle do nothing to cover the odor. She drinks plenty of water during the day and I dont beleave her diet has anything to do with it she does not have UTI and she just had a test done on her Kidneys and they were ok. She does not have any burning or pain when she urinates.
